What is Permutive DMP?

The Data Management Platform built for publishers, Permutive Publisher DMP allows you to see, analyze and activate your entire audience in real-time. "An excellent data management platform solution in a post GDPR world"

What do you like best?

1st party real time data platform that allows us to fully understand and action our fully permissioned user data and build visualisation tools from the data warehouse

What do you dislike?

Building segments could improve purely from a legacy POV whereby some of the query parameters are not clearly described - a minor thing as it is in the documentation

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Permutive still seems to be relatively unknown in comparison to other DMP's most likely as they are an independent. Most of the companies we speak to did comparative trials with their existing platforms or proposed platforms so if you were unsure I'm certain that they would be happy to take that challenge on

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We started working with Permutive more than four years ago and have been on their journey from the start. Permutive sit at the heart of our marketing capabilities allowing us to manage our first party data and build reactions to re-market to our users for internal promotions and also manage interest segments for external clients pushing GDPR compliant data into ad networks, our own inventory, Facebook, Email, Twitter and extended ad networks.

Given Permutive works on 1st impression we have seen a significant increase in our ad availability.

In addition we use the Permutive data warehouse capabilities to analyse every interaction in our content database to understand and inform the business on how people are using our sites, consuming content and understanding variances over time.

By using data studio on top of their instance of big query we have been able to also build out dashboards for every part of the business

"Transformative"

What do you like best?

Permutive has completely changed how we're able to use data on our users. Before working with Permutive The Stylist Group could only see data on approximately 40-45% of our users. With Permutive we are close to 100% of users.

The interface isn't much to look at but personally I really like it. The purpose of the DMP is to build audiences and report on audiences. The simple clean UI makes the simple stuff simple and the complex stuff easy to use.

The team at Permutive have been incredible to work with in all departments. It feels like an organisation where the employees believe in the platform and want their clients to succeed.

What do you dislike?

I'm yet to find one. I've thrown lots of requirements and questions at Permutive and they've been able to answer everything I've sent them.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

It's rare to find a team as smart and forward thinking as the team at Permutive.

Often with companies in this space the product doesn't live up to the promise of the sales pitch. I think the opposite is true of Permutive. The product is far better than I thought it would be from the pitch. It's over-delivered in a big way.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We solve multiple problems with Permutive.

From getting insight to help with our monetisation strategy, to understanding our audience at a granular level, to providing data when testing new products, we use Permutive across our entire business.

One of the main benefits is that by using Permutive i've been able to get every team in the company excited about using data.
