"A Flexible and Modular Open-Source Content Management System"
What do you like best about October CMS?

October CMS is a powerful content management system known for its simplicity and how friendly it is to developers. What I most like about October is that It runs on the Laravel framework, which is a modern and popular way to build websites. This makes it a great and modern choice for both developers and people who work with computers less often.

One of the best things about October CMS is the easy and friendly interface it gives to website users. People who manage different kinds of content can use the site dashboard without trouble. The drag-and-drop feature to organize content and media works flawlessly and is super impressive. This lets lots of users, with different skill levels and mostly without much technical knowledge, create and update their sites easily. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about October CMS?

In October CMS, every functionality you need for your project come from plugins, or custom development of plugins. This is a double-edged sword in some ways, as it is not full featured and thus more flexible, but it can mean that you have to put more coding effort into certain elements you need for your website, some may even not to find in October's documents. Also front end development on October works only on template system, which some designers or front-end devs might not find so user friendly if they prefer other dynamic front-end frameworks or pre-designs. "My CMS of choice is OctoberCMS"
What do you like best about October CMS?

First off I like how October is based on the Laravel PHP Framework. It's an elegant framework that doesn't put a lot of restrictions on the developers. It has a simple back end that provides extensibility through the use of plugins which can override any behavior you want. The ability to customize other peoples plugins without ever touching their code has been a huge benefit. For the non-programmers, it allows for easy customization of pages and content across their platform. Being a developer myself, documentation and support are very important to me, and OctoberCMS does a great job at making both available. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about October CMS?

The fact that it is based on Laravel has led to some upgrading issues at times, where Laravel packages are updated that break some of the functionality of October. Though they tend to be fast at providing fixes, it still can cause problems when something unexpected happens during an update. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about October CMS?

The main issue is the lack of documentation but it looks like that it's on progress and already saw improvement since a few months. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A CMS with potential"
What do you like best about October CMS?

October's use of snippets and content blocks makes for an easy to learn approach to managing a website, as opposed to ones that require heavy dev input such as Drupl. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about October CMS?

October can be difficult to shape to what you need. For instance, blog pages seem to carry a bug where you're unable to change the header image without accessing code that isn't in the CMS, and likely sitting in a hidden style sheet. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Simple and flexible laravel framework"
What do you like best about October CMS?

October is really simple to use if you are accustomed to Laravel, yet it's perfectly easy to extend it with your own implementations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about October CMS?

The built-in dashboard / markup editor / layout builder is not really useful because it's too simple for an advanced developer yet too complicated for a non-tech customer. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
