Describe the project or task the provider helped with:

Architectural Fabrication partnered with Mountain Point to implement Rootstock ERP. The specific challenges that we faced that prompted this project were the segmentation of processes across multiple platforms, duplicating data entry efforts, lag in data reporting that was critical to the decision making process, and more. The overarching objective was to streamline our systems and processes by delivering ONE system for ALL users. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

The key factors to our success on this project were our agile approach and the team that we constructed to execute the implementation. Our project started with long demonstrations/discovery sessions that provided insights about the platform's capabilities and returned a deeper understanding of our business needs to Mountain Point. Mountain Point leveraged technology resources to frame up the milestones of the project and detail out a project plan. However, both sides had the expectation that this plan would change. Over the 18 months of the project’s life cycle, our agility to pivot the project allowed us to deliver solutions that fit the current needs of the business. In addition to hiring Mountain Point, Architectural Fabrication built an internal team of super users. The individuals on this team represented every user group within the organization. Constructing this team provided valuable feedback from the perspective of each user role and allowed us to build systems and processes in unison. This resulted in much less pain at go-live. What do you dislike?

We moved out of sync with each other regarding projected hours about halfway through the project. I think the communication could have been better around that. We discussed this directly with Mountain Point and quickly got back in alignment together. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We are extremely pleased with the results of the implementation and the investment that we made in the platform. We are grateful for the effort of Tony Vagnerini and his team at Mountain Point for guiding us to success in overcoming the challenges stated above. Together, we were able to deliver a comprehensive ERP solution that resulted in better capacity / material planning, collaboration between teams, financial reporting to all departments, and more. What do you like best?

Mountain Point has deep knowledge of the Salesforce platform, in addition to their knowledge of Rootstock ERP. It's one thing to know Rootstock ERP, but when combined with their deep knowledge of Salesforce; serious enhancements and power get brought out of both products. What do you dislike?

When we first were going live, in 2016, it seemed like they might have been a little short staffed, but since that time I believe that has been fixed and I haven't experienced any issues. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the provider:

If you have a concept in mind make sure you explain it in detail including where in Salesforce or Rootstock you want to execute the function. Mountain Point has the ability to take that concept and make it a reality, but one thing of note, is that some of Rootstock's code is only able to be edited by Rootstock so that can limit what or where something can be done with Rootstock, but MP will be able to provide guidance and has possibly already done what you're looking for for someone else. Our website leads, even from some of our complex web forms, flow effortlessly and automatically into our salesforce lead queue.

Mountain Point has helped us design and implement Rootstock and Salesforce automated functions. This includes reducing the number of manual work order transacations, scheduling tasks to be completed on a specific schedule and providing insight and expertise on how we could best accomplish our goal and stay within budget. What do you like best?

Their knowledge of the software and what it's capabilities are make it feel like your imagination and budgets are the only limits to what can be accomplished. We have reduced the number of mouse clicks and saved valuable time when processing work orders for release. We have automated the closing of work orders and work order receipts. Mountain Point was responsible for creating new dashboards based on ERP data, linking salesforce objects to kenandy objects, the ETL process between our old ERP and Kenandy, go-live assistance, and perfecting workflows between our CRM and ERP systems. Mountain Point worked with us to setup Salesforce CRM for both Sales and Service users. Because our data had been stored in a multitude of formats prior to the new company start-up, we needed their help to create a common data table that stored legacy data and allowed us to input new customers and projects. On the service side, they setup a case and report entry system that facilitates assignment and dispatch of field engineers that can then enter their service calls and reports directly into Salesforce. Our sales team and engineering team have live, up-to-date information on every customer they visit from their laptop or cell phone. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

The setup of the system is very intuitive and easy to navigate. I can find all of the information I need about an opportunity, it's owner, the customer contact, and related projects with a few simple clicks. I also really like the setup of our service reports - our consultant Kirsten setup the publishing of our reports so that all tasks and daily entries can be printed out with the main report as a single document which we can hand directly to our customers. What do you dislike?

It's very difficult to find something to dislike since we've been so happy with the implementation. If I really dig for a complaint to make, I can concede that there were a bunch of sample reports that Salesforce created that didn't get deleted at our Go Live point. However, we never discussed with Mountain Point or asked them to delete it. I'm basically complaining that they didn't read my mind. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We were skeptical about starting the project at kickoff after having a failed attempt at using Oracle CRM with another integrator. Working with Mountain Point was easy and we quickly saw them put our new system in place. Our main problems were:

1) that our data wasn't in a single source

2) that no one data table had all the information we need to make business decisions

3) that we were manually tracking much of our quote and opportunity process

4) that our service team could not see Sales efforts and vice versa

Integrating our salesforce applications (ServiceMax) with our internal ERP based on events such as order/item creation. They also assisted with the original synchronization of the items between the environments, and will be providing further services as our needs develop in the future. What do you like best?

I loved the people, in particular:

I am fond of working with our account manager, Kirsten. She is incredibly responsive to our needs, and was able to help not only getting me to engineers, but also was able to assist in some day to day tasks immediately.

The primary Engineers I have been working with have all been excellent:

James Boggs - Quick to resolve a problem, not shy about telling you if something is out of his control and requires vendor support (which I like). Willing to troubleshoot live with the vendor until we had the problem resolved. If you're integrating, you want James in your corner.

Billy Weisberger - I have worked with Billy a few times, each of them went the same. I provided a clear concise goal, he met them on the first iteration. Great engineer to work with.

Andrew Reiser - I have only had to deal with Andrew once, but it was entirely unexpected when he picked up for Billy while he was on vacation for a critical item. Andrew got the information to me quickly, and effectively, and we resolved the issue I had rather quickly & painlessly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

I was not to fond of the vendor support we saw from Scribe. In particular it was incredibly hard to understand the engineers from the scribe side. The majority of our live troubleshooting session was deciphering what the engineers on the other side were saying, but we ultimately did get the goal completed. Recommendations to others considering the provider:

Know the project you are going into, and be sure you have what you need well defined. Much like any consulting organization, the ability for them to conduct business depends heavily on your ability to deliver to them what they need & vice versa. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
