## Microsoft Planner Reviews
 ### 1. Intuitive, Seamless Task Tracking with Outlook and MS App Integration

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rahul s. | Assistant Manager OTC, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

Planner helps me organise tasks and keep track of what I need to do. It’s very easy to flag emails in Outlook, and they automatically flow into Planner with a date and time tag for follow-up. I can add reminders and extra details, and Planner is integrated with other MS apps, which makes it easy to access wherever I’m working. The UI is intuitive and simple to navigate. Performance in the Task app is solid, and it also syncs with the calendar as planned.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

Sometimes the reminders overlook the date and time I set and send notifications at random times. Also, when I flag emails in Outlook with a specific date, Planner still marks them as due the same day, ignoring the date I selected.

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It keeps an easy-to-access list of tasks and flagged emails to work on, based on the reminders I set. It also helps me plan my day’s work.

 ### 2. Lightweight Project Management Made Easy

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jitheesh V. | IT INFRA MANAGER, Computer & Network Security, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 17, 2026

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

What I like most about Microsoft Planner is how simple it is while still being tightly integrated with the Microsoft 365 ecosystem. It lets teams create, assign, and track tasks through an intuitive Kanban-style board. Its integration with Microsoft Teams, Outlook, and SharePoint makes collaboration feel seamless, so you can stay in the flow without constantly switching between different tools.
Planner also gives clear visibility into task ownership, deadlines, and progress, which helps strengthen accountability and transparency across the team. Features like labels, checklists, attachments, and comments make it easier to organize work and keep everything in one place. I also find the dashboard view with charts especially helpful for getting a quick read on project status and how the workload is distributed.
Overall, it’s a practical, lightweight project management tool that supports better team coordination and productivity without adding unnecessary complexity.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

While Microsoft Planner is simple and easy to use, it lacks some advanced project management capabilities. Features such as detailed reporting, task dependencies, time tracking, and advanced workflow automation are limited compared to more robust project management tools.
Another limitation is the restricted customization options. The labeling system is basic, and there are limited filtering and sorting capabilities for large projects. Managing multiple plans across different teams can also become difficult without a centralized portfolio view.

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Microsoft Planner helps solve the problem of task visibility and coordination within the team. Earlier, tasks were managed through emails and informal communication, which led to missed follow-ups and unclear ownership. Planner centralizes all tasks in one place, clearly defining responsibility, deadlines, and progress status.

 ### 3. Streamlines Task Management with Seamless Integration

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shoaib S. | People and Culture Officer, Consulting, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 04, 2026

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

I love how Microsoft Planner is seamlessly integrated with Microsoft Teams and Office 365, making it easy to use and part of a competitively priced ecosystem. The integration is flawless, allowing tasks added from my mobile phone to appear immediately in the web experience. The ability to use it in a board format, customizing columns for different statuses and simply dragging and dropping tasks, lets me see at a glance where I stand. I also appreciate the feature that allows me to flag an email and have it automatically turn into a task on Planner. This helps me assign deadlines and notes easily. Click and drag experience makes setup and use straightforward.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

The mobile application is a bit not as advanced or as polished as the Web experience or the Microsoft Teams integration. I would like the mobile experience to be more user-friendly. It's there, but it doesn't let me do much. I still have to eventually click on the widget, then go to the native application to get a lot done.

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Microsoft Planner to keep up with deadlines, organize tasks on mobile seamlessly synced with web and Teams, and flag emails as tasks, enhancing collaboration and task tracking.

 ### 4. Easy Task Tracking and Seamless Microsoft 365 Collaboration

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Manufacturing | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 24, 2026

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

Microsoft Planner is easy to use and integrates seamlessly with Microsoft 365, making team collaboration simple. It provides clear task tracking, visual boards, and straightforward assignment of responsibilities, helping teams stay organized and aligned without complex project management tools.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

Microsoft Planner has some limitations, especially in Planner Premium. Not all fields available in the web interface are exposed in the Dataverse tables, which makes integration and automation scenarios more difficult. This lack of consistency can limit advanced reporting and customization options.

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Microsoft Planner solves the problem of organizing and tracking team tasks in a simple, visual way. It helps manage workloads, assign responsibilities, and monitor progress in one place. This benefits me by improving team coordination, increasing transparency, and ensuring tasks are completed on time without the need for complex project management tools.

 ### 5. Easy, Intuitive Task Tracking with Seamless Microsoft 365 Integration

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mayur K. | Project Manager, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 27, 2026

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

What I like best about Microsoft Planner is its ease of use and seamless integration with Microsoft 365. It’s simple to set up, intuitive to manage tasks, and works especially well with Microsoft Teams and Outlook. The visual task boards make it easy to track progress and collaborate efficiently.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

Microsoft Planner offers only limited advanced project management capabilities, such as detailed reporting, task dependencies, and time tracking. The customization options are also fairly minimal, which can feel restrictive when you’re trying to support more complex workflows. It works best within the Microsoft ecosystem, so integration with non-Microsoft tools remains limited.

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Microsoft Planner solves the problem of organizing team tasks and tracking progress in a simple, visual way. It helps keep work structured, improves collaboration, and ensures everyone knows their responsibilities, which saves time and increases overall productivity.

 ### 6. Simple, intuitive, and effective tool for task and project management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** ISSAOUI B. | IT administrator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 12, 2025

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

Microsoft Planner makes task and project management very simple and visual. I like the intuitive Kanban-style boards, easy drag-and-drop task assignments, and the integration with other Microsoft 365 tools like Teams and Outlook. It helps keep my team organized, track progress at a glance, and prioritize tasks efficiently. The notifications and reminders ensure nothing falls through the cracks.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

Planner can feel limited when managing very complex projects. Advanced reporting and analytics features are missing, and there’s no native Gantt chart view. While it’s perfect for small-to-medium teams, larger projects sometimes require complementary tools to fully visualize timelines and dependencies.

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Planner helps our team stay organized, track project progress, and manage task assignments efficiently. It reduces confusion over priorities, ensures deadlines are met, and improves team collaboration by centralizing task information in one platform. Integration with Microsoft 365 tools makes communication and updates seamless, saving time and reducing errors.

 ### 7. Easy and effective task management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shihas Y. | Development Engineer, Airlines/Aviation, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 20, 2026

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

Easy task tracking, clear visual layout, and seamless integration with the Microsoft ecosystem (Teams, Outlook, etc.).

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

Limited reporting, fewer advanced project management features, and not ideal for complex projects or detailed planning.

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps with task organisation, tracking progress, and improving collaboration across the team.

 ### 8. Planner, good tool but not very intuitive

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** César G. | P, Computer Software, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 30, 2025

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

The planner enjoys its integration with Microsoft 365, even its free version, although it is very limited. As for the pro version, it opens important features like statistics or the creation of new columns. Planner is online, but like every online tool from Microsoft, an "installable" can be created through Edge. Planner is not easy to use if you are not accustomed to Microsoft 365 tools. Customer support is functional, but slow. I use this tool daily to record projects. It does not require implementation, just understanding it and creating a template.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

It's complex. Everything in the M365 tools has its learning curve, and the same goes for Planner. In Planner, you can do wonderful things, but they are never intuitive. I wish Planner were more intuitive like the competition.

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The organization of teams and their tasks. Without a doubt, keeping a record of those responsible for each task improves projects. Planner helps the company maintain detailed control of projects, and through its usage statistics, it helps us understand the detailed tracking of projects.

 ### 9. Project Progress Calculation Needs Improvement

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Food & Beverages | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 16, 2026

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

Planner has been helpful with managing my projects and having a singular view of the milestones, tasks, duration, progress. It also has the ability to create reports and visualise the overall health of the project

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

The calculation of a project’s progress isn’t accurate, because it’s based on the total number of tasks and subtasks. This can make a project look further along than it really is, which then makes reporting difficult. On top of that, the interface feels bland, and the Gantt Chart isn’t very appealing to use.

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It provides a tool to manage and track the progress of a project. And share with stakeholders to provide them with visibility. It is useful in seeing how the timeline will be affected if milestones or tasks are not met on time

 ### 10. Easy Project and Due Date Tracking

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ricky F. | Director of Operations, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 21, 2026

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

Ability to add more tasks and preview in boards

It's sometimes slow.

Microsoft Planner helps me keep track of project tasks and tasks in general, making project planning within my team straightforward.

 ### 12. Microsoft Planner - Great for Planning a project or task managing

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Colin T. | Project Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 28, 2022

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

What I like best about Microsoft Planner, is that it is so quick and simple to use. You can easily assign a task to someone, write a comment about a task, change a due date, it is very simple and easy to use which is why I like it over other task managers

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

The thing that I like the last about Microsoft planner, is, it is a Microsoft application however, there is no program for it for windows. There is one for Android but nothing for Windows yet....? Hoping they come out with one soon.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Planner:**

I would highly recommend Microsoft Planner, it is very easy and simple to use. I really like the fact that I can assign tasks to other team members and also openly communicate about a specific task they are working on.

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The problem I am solving using Mircosoft Planner is task and project management. This online program,/android application - allows me to quickly and easily set up groups or buckets for projects and then separate tasks under each group/bucket. You can easily communicate with other team members within the online program and even assign specific tasks to users with due dates.

**Reviewed by:** Modena A. | Supervisor Customer Support, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

Microsoft planner is your all in one go to bucket list. You can store daily goals for personnel and business. For example, if you have 3 important meeting, special reports, a project with a deadline then this reminds you. You canplace the start date if task and the end date.
Documents such as excel, microsoft word can be incorporated to planner to keep files associated with the topic of reminder or to do list.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

I do wish there were more preset templates to match with tracking data like agent quality grades, solved interactions.

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This helps me keep on tract with daily meeting to outline daily goals. This also helps in note taking which is a wonderful paper trail for what occured on dates and specific times.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rowena Joy R. | Technical Support Specialist, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 23, 2025

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

One of the best features I love about Microsoft Planner is its integration with Microsoft Teams. It’s a game-changer for me because I can check updates and collaborate with my teammates without having to leave or switch between apps. This seamless setup has helped me stay organized and efficient, especially when juggling multiple cases and requests daily. Setting it up is very easy—just click on the Apps icon in the Teams sidebar, search for “Planner,” and add it. It will then be available directly within your Microsoft Teams workspace.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

I’ve encountered an issue with Microsoft Planner where notifications aren’t always consistent, which sometimes causes me to miss important updates unless I’m actively checking the board. Even with this limitation, I still find Microsoft Planner incredibly useful overall, and I’m hopeful that future updates will enhance its functionality even further.

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I’m dealing with multiple request cases and switching from Microsoft Teams to Microsoft Planner is so challenging. I need to see our tracker to ensure that everything is being processed correctly. That’s why its integration with Microsoft Teams is such a major benefit—it allows me to stay focused and connected with my teammates all in one place. This seamless setup has significantly improved my efficiency and helps me stay on top of updates and responsibilities.

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 04, 2025

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

One feature I rely on is Microsoft planner’s custom color labels—they let me organize tasks visually and instantly by priority, requirement, or area. Exporting to excel is equally strategic—I can analyze, track metrics, and compare performance. And with the calendar view, timelines become far clearer.

The lack of built-in views—like gantt charts—limits a clear timeline perspective, crucial when projects demand strict sequencing and well-defined phases.

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Microsoft Planner is an online application that is very useful for task management. Whenever you are running a project, having a planner is a powerful tool for assigning different tasks to your team members with an executive date for each task. In addition, the planner helps you to draft your plan and adjust any modifications during the project. It gives you an overview or status of your project and what milestones achieved at any moment. Therefore, you can easily track the progression of your project and take necessary actions to prevent any delays in completing your project. The application offers different views of the planner such as grid view, board, and charts so someone can easily screen what tasks your team members have completed and what tasks are with overdue dates. Also, the planner contains the names of your team members with assigned tasks so you can follow up with each team member about the specific task through an option called "Teams". In summary, a Microsoft planner gives you a lot of opportunities for managing your project and team member assignments/tasks. It is very useful for project management roles. The advantage of Microsoft Planner is that you can easily share it with other team members during presentations or team meetings. During the meeting, you can edit the project plan.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

Nothing to dislike. It is the opposite; friendly and easy to use.

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Managing big projects with collaboration from big teams who contribute to different tasks. Meeting project completion deadlines and reasonable planning to achieve each milestone. Flexibility to implement the changes in team members and scope of work for each team member.

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

Everything is where you expect it to be, and I don't miss anything. It has a careful graphical interface that provides a simple and effective user experience. You just have to take care of how you want to organize yourself.

You have at your disposal a great tool to work professionally without needing complex project management software. I use it daily in the office, and I can't speak about customer support service because I have never needed it.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

I use Planner as part of the Office 365 suite, and certainly the implementation is a little tricky if you want to tailor it a bit to the needs of your organization.

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Planner is a great help, both for managing my tasks and for reporting the latest achievements to my boss.

 ### 32. TASK AND TEAM MANAGEMENT TOOL

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tej S. | Assistant Professor, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 03, 2023

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

A Microsoft tool to organize tasks and teamworks, MS Planner provides a hub for team members to create plans, organize and assign tasks. Files can be shared to all members as it also provides a centralised place to share and view files. One can easily integrate task with outlook using MS Planner, discuss a project within Teams. It is easy to use and implementation of basic office tools is quite simple using this tool, making it a day to day tool to be used. Onboarding team gets simplified using the kanban board interface. Email notifications and availaibility of all the information we need in one place makes it a super tool. It is a tool to be used for everyday activities be it at home or at office. Above all since it's a Microsoft product it's customer care is superb.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

The mobile version of MS Planner is very simple and non-customizable. The absence of recurring tasks and Gantt charts also makes it bad. There is no time tracking which makes it difficult to stay on scheduled and monitor yopur team's progress. Also the lack of portfolio management, no access to dashboards limits its usability.

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Microsoft Planner helps in gathering the elements of my prioject and create a project plan accordingly with a beginning, middle and end. It is a top to-do list tool.

 ### 33. Tracking Action Items Made Easy

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Patrick M. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 12, 2023

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

We previously used a custom solution built into Sharepoint 2013 to track our current projects and completed action items, and moving to Microsoft's Planner has made this easy and efficient. We are able to effortlessly assign users to a task, and shift end dates around, as well as using Microsoft's power automate to create behind the scenes processes to do things like an approval process.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

I do occassionally run into issues where I am attempting to assign users to a project that are not in that specific team so I run into issues where I need to add them to the team to assign them to the project.

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Planner is helping us track projects effectively, with seamless assignment of personnel and deadlines.

 ### 34. MS Planner- Personal or Corporate day-2-day plan

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shefali Jain 4. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 13, 2023

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

Best about Microsoft planner is it is integrated with the other microsoft tool which is being used in one's corporate or college life. The interface of planner is userFriendly.I am new user but implementing this tool wasn't very hard. Inquisitive nature of mine made me use mostly every feature of its.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

If I compare the feature with other project management tool which I have used, Planner has some less advance feature. The mobile application of its have some limitation compares to the web version.

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Planning daily tasks and recording all the task so that I don't have to remember every thing.

 ### 35. Planner one of the Microsoft's that enables the user to manage all the tasks just a single click.

**Reviewed by:** Rachit T. | Associate Product Marketing Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 21, 2023

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

I have been using Microsoft Planner for almost 2 months now and it has become an indispensable tool for managing tasks and projects. What I appreciate most about Microsoft Planner is its user-friendly interface, seamless integration with other Microsoft 365 apps, and its collaboration features.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

Overall as such no cons, but there is a thing that Microsoft Planner is not available with all the plans. And if available not with all the features.

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tasks Management,
Automatic Reminder of the Deadline
Auto Sync with outlook and teams.
Follow up and task mark in.

 ### 36. Solves your project management headaches

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jaivir S. | Lead Software Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 19, 2023

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

Best part is its integration with teams. Everything is then at just one place and easy to track, given the documents, schedule or even assignments.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

Risks are not really highlighted or tracked in the bucket section as they may be. Ive used monday.com and that has perhaps more features except the integration part.

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Management at a basic simple click level from the ease of your microsoft documents is what it greatly solves. I can write and distribute tasks easily. The charts give a dashboard that help with tracking in great ease.

 ### 37. Simple to use but lacks critical features

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chanaka P. | Senior Technical Writer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 03, 2024

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

Simplicity. Microsoft Planner simplifies task management effortlessly. The visual boards keep our projects organized, and assigning tasks is a breeze.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

Does not allow users to have sub-tasks and assign them to different people. This is a critical feature that is not available in Microsoft Planner.

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I introduced Microsoft Planner to my company's HR team. HR folks are not familiar with agile/scrum. The simplicity of Microsoft Planner allowed them to adopt agile principles in their operations with ease.

 ### 38. Best tool for corporate activities planning

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Market Research | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 10, 2023

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

It has made my multiple training scheduling and tracking the tasks assigned to the newly joined associates very easy and fuzz free.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

According to me, this is the best tool when it comes to planning individual and group activities, but the only thing I would suggest is that it should track the time associates take as soon as they start the task till they complete it.

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

From the day I moved to the role of trainer, this tool has come to my rescue to plan and schedule all the trainings very efficiently. It also provides option through which I can assign training modules and assignments and track them as and when needed.

 ### 39. One of the best planning tool to keep you organised out there

It is very user friendly and easy to integrate with other software one might be using. It can be used for a variety of applications in your day to day business and is really easy to implement in your everyday business.

There can sometimes be a lag issue and the user interface can be improved to make it easy to manoeuvre through the application

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps organise tasks for the day, thus acting like a digital planner and helps to align your schedule with priorities and deadlines

 ### 40. Simple Product for generic planning / kanban use

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Henry L. | Dynamics CRM Analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 15, 2020

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

Ease of use is great selling point of this. low skill users don't have a problem with it. It's also good on multiple devices and is flexible in how its used. Integration with MS suite is a big plus, particularly teams, power automate and sharepoint - and they seem to be developing it at a reasonable pace.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

It lacks complex features that some may desire and customisation is limited - you can't colour code in calendar view for example.

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Good for managing simple IT projects and sprints. Also good for use with Power Automate to manage tasks / processes. comes as part of most O365 license bundles and therefore is easy to onboard with an interface they understand

 ### 41. MS Planner is a simple, but effective card based task management tool!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 20, 2021

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

MS Planner is a great tool for existing MS/Office 365 users who need a basic card (Kanban) task/project management tracker tool. It is very easy to use and it is fully integrated into the rest of the MS suite like Teams and free.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

MS Planner doesn't have as much functionality as other dedicated tools like Monday, Asana, AirTable, etc. Although there are updates to MS Planner, there aren't as many innovative or groundbreaking changes like the main Office 365 products like Word, Excel, and Powerpoint.

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have a daily stand up/status meeting where we check in on the progress of our activities and tasks. Planner works perfectly for it since it is easy to use and cloud-based. We can access the tool from various devices and 100% virtually/remotely as needed. The main benefit our company is realizing is that MS Planner provides excellent virtual collaboration for task management.

 ### 42. To plan or not to plan.

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

It's pretty basic but covers all major needs to keep a good tracking of your tasks with a view that even make it easier.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

At some features as status is limited and doesn't let you be detail as desired.

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keeping track of all task that has to be done through the year. It makes tracking simple and let me do some integration to automate processes

 ### 44. Excellent tool for project management, tracking, and team collaboration

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kyle T. | Assistant Director, Corporate Relations, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 27, 2023

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

I like that Planner allows me to track, edit, and add details for both individual projects, in addition to team projects. This is a great tool for my team to be up to date and collaborate on projects that require more than one person.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

Planner is setup well and isn't overally unique as I believe there are other project management software that provide similiar functions and features. I think the integration with other Microsoft products could be smoother.

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For a highly dynamic role on a highly dynamic team, Planner allows me to keep organized for things I'm working on alone, in addition to being able to contribute or make updates for our whole team projects.

 ### 45. Task Manager integrated with MS teams

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mario G. | Solution Architect - Enterprise Solution, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 11, 2020

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

It's very easy to use and set up. It allows you to schedule and follow up task with alert and tags. It is possible to set tags and sub-task

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

Still need to find the option to avoid reminder mails during the week end.. but in general it there is no "dislike" elements

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Planner:**

The integration with other MS product is the key feature. There are other software but here the single account and the access are very simple

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows to schedule task directly in MS Teams and to follow them up either in the single channel or in the planner to see the overview of all tasks

 ### 46. Simplistic tool that lacks enhanced features

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** John L. | Web Developer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 06, 2023

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

It's easy to create a task with the regular fields you'd excpet from a task planner. Due dates, tags, adding colleagues to tasks, uploading documetns, and commenting.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

It's more advanced features are severely lacking, such as notifications for anyone on a task. For them to get notified via email, they have to comment on the task, which is quite unhelpful when working on important projects with strict deadlines.

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps us keep track of tasks, their progress, due dates, and aligning our work across several departments.

 ### 47. Straightforward, Basic Planner Tool for MS Office Users

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Samuel S. | Donor Database & Contributions Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 26, 2023

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

Very low barriers to implement. Well integrated with MS Office apps and intuitive for anyone already using the Office suite (free with 365). Useful to monitor straightforward and repetitive tasks.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

Best suited to smaller organizations and simpler projects. Really more of planning/task management tool than a full project management tool, as it does not include time/risk management nor does have a dashboard to view multiple projects at the same time.

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keeping repetetive weekly and monthly tasks from being overlooked by team members who work remotely. Easily track who is working on what component of the Finance Department's monthly close processes.

 ### 48. Awesome tool!

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Primary/Secondary Education | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 12, 2023

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

Easy to use and see all of your/teams' tasks at a glance. Easy to interface into a team on Microsoft Teams. I open it up daily to plan out my day and what I need to do the day ahead.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

It would be good if it it interfaced with Microsoft Todo a little bit better and was intuitive enough to find e-mails of relevance instead of just documents/spreadsheets from OneDrive and SharePoint.

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As an autistic person, I previously had trouble prioritising and managing my tasks - the program has helped enormously with that and I'm far more productive.

 ### 49. Lite Project Planner

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andre B. | Solutions Architect, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 18, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

What I most like is because Planner is simple. Projects apps could be very confuse with terms and functionalities. Planner makes easy to create assign and followup tasks.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

The board is ok, but could be messy with several tasks. Even if we assign a tag to the the task, it is not easy to visualize this assignment.

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

To manage projects like development, a lack of a good software where you can apply kanban to it was a problem to me. With Planner, I can easily create my buckets, assigned tasks and follow up in the Planner hub

 ### 50. Planning made easy

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Peter W. | Web Developer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2023

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

It's ease of use, with the clear labeling, filtering and channel options, it makes adding and editing cards incredibly straight forward, even for new users.
With Planner being included as part of Office 365, your team can stay and work all within one central application.
The ability to seamlessly switch between the web application, desktop app and mobile app makes using Planner on the go and on different devices very easy.
You can easily time spent on particular tasks, with Planner also giving information on who completed what and when in various useful charts and graphs.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

Though on the whole, it is easy to use, the drag-and-drop feature can be cumbersome and hard to use, especially on long and detailed boards.
Users can post comments on different cards but are unable to edit them. Making it troublesome if an error is posted.

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Planner as a team allows us to accurately plan the week/sprint ahead. Assigning tasks to colleagues, giving deadlines and an estimated timescale.
At the end of the sprint we can then gauge if too much work was assigned to a particular colleague, and if any improvements in deadlines have been met.
