# When do Canva designs need an extra step before professional printing?

Say a design is heading to a professional printer at a large size: I've been exploring when Canva designs need an extra step before printing. For most print work they don't. Flyers, presentations, social graphics and standard printables come straight out of Canva. Reading G2 reviews, the extra step appears for specialist jobs, large-format dimensions, exact vector output or fine typography control such as kerning, where people design in Canva and then finish the file in dedicated design software.

For content creation buyers, that's a sensible division. Canva is built for fast, good-looking everyday output, with AI background removal and drag-and-drop layout doing most of the work, and press-ready vector files are a specialist step in any workflow. Teams that need them occasionally describe a short handoff at the end rather than a reason to change tools, and knowing the printer's specifications before starting makes that handoff smoother.

Which print jobs do you send straight from Canva? And for large-format work, what does your final step look like?

Getting the printer's specs before starting made our last large-format job really smooth. Everything else goes straight out of Canva.
