# What is the best bot detection software for blocking ad fraud and account takeover attacks?

<p class="elv-tracking-normal elv-text-default elv-font-figtree elv-text-base elv-leading-base elv-font-normal" elv="true">I'm pulling together a shortlist of bot detection tools for two very different problems, ad fraud and account takeover, and wanted reviews behind it. They rarely live in the same tool, so I looked at who's strong where. The key is separating the two threat models instead of expecting one “best” bot tool to dominate both. For ad fraud, I’d measure invalid-traffic reduction and recovered spend; for ATO, false-positive rate and legitimate-user friction matter just as much as attacks blocked.
