Adding to this Meistertask is composed of applications in their versions of both desktops or mobile devices, offering free trial and registration with cloud backup and a fully online support, that is why it is one of the most popular tools. **What do you dislike about MeisterTask?** The customer service notification system is deficient as it takes a considerable amount of time to provide answers to the support sent for the problem. Lastly, the inability to quickly switch from one project to the other; in addition, the inability to move a task from one block to the other without select the project for which you're already in. I can name the tags specifically and also color them. I also use the board to organize my life as well. The different projects allow me to separate work from life as well. Its easy to move around the tasks and reorder them. The colors make it bright and organized. I also appreciate all the different icons for the different categories that I can select. Just keeps everything neat and organized. I cant believe i was using a simple word document before. I appreciate that they have a mobile app as well. **What do you dislike about MeisterTask?** sometimes the program is slow to load and the responsiveness/syncing can be off at times. Sometimes on the mobile version of the tool it does not sync to things i've done in the desktop version and that can be annoying sometimes as I add critical notes on the go into TM (What i like to abbreviate Meister Task as). **Recommendations to others considering MeisterTask:** Use the coloring and tags **What problems is MeisterTask solving and how is that benefiting you?** Project management is a big problem solver, organization as well. Being able to see and move around tasks with ease is very important for me and that is the main problem MeisterTask helps me solve on a small scale. I run a lot of projects simultaneously and Meistertask makes it realy simple to have an overview on all of them. Inside each projects I set a lot of tasks and use Kanban to see the progress of each task, I track time for each task and I use time tracking for reports to my customers. **What do you dislike about MeisterTask?** There si not much to dislike. Maybe the pricing for the Timeline (new Gannt chart like) feature. It looks awesome but I am not sure it is worth 12.5 € more per month. I am considering to upgrade to see if this is something that really helps to have a clear and better overview on our projects. **Recommendations to others considering MeisterTask:** If you need a project management tool to have a complete overview on projects, tasks and implementig colaboration with multiple users than this is the right tool for you. It's simple, but powerful. I use it for more than 3 years now and I couldn't recommend it more. I tried a few other tools but for me as a web developer and a marketing agency owner this is the one I like most. **What problems is MeisterTask solving and how is that benefiting you?** I use it mostly for Project management. I am co-owner of digital marketing agency. As a web developer I use it for projects, tasks and due dates. A also like to use time tracking for myself. In the future we plan to use it for task assignment with all my colleagues. For a project like building a online store I use tasks and Kanban and track all of the tasks to see if I am in the timeframe as planned. Inside tasks I use checklists to have all tasks structured as good as possible. ### 9. Very easily organized and nice to use. I also love how it updates over the phone and the Mac app. Makes it very easy to do submit things to get done. **What do you dislike about MeisterTask?** More features in the free tear please. Paying is fine, just can't always make co-works pay for it. I would also like to see some features to tie in third party services. It makes it very easy to sort and see what needs to be done for projects. I would also add that if you need a way to manage many peoples tasks at once, this is a great app to do that. It gives you tools to follow up with people and make sure of where people are at in the tasks. As a video editor, it is very important for me to follow up with my team about the other pieces they are working on. This make it very easy to do that. I also like that I can place notes within a task that is printable so that I can provide all the steps I've taken to complete a task when requested. I find its integration with Outlook to be very helpful, and the customizable sections allow me to create the project base that works best for me. I use it for my personal use and my department of 1 person. I am sure this would be an excellent tool for teams of 2 or more. I am also a huge fan of emails sent from Meistertask about projects due. It helps me in the morning to know what I need to focus on that day. **What do you dislike about MeisterTask?** Not so much downsides, but I wish Meistertask had more views. I would like to see a calendar view. I also wish Meistertask allowed subtasks. These might be features in an upgraded plan. **What problems is MeisterTask solving and how is that benefiting you?** It is helping me focus on my Department goals and projects and track how much time is spent on each project through the HArvest integration. ### 11. The additions they did to the Kanban system especially with the addition of a to-do list inside cards and due dates are certainly very helpful. Although I do think some work needs to be done particularly on displaying them and making them work seamlessly (without having to click on the cards one by one to check). **What do you dislike about MeisterTask?** 1. Biggest pet peeve - it seems to be an Electron app and not a native Mac app. While usable, I don’t think there is advantage to using MeisterTask on desktop compared to iPad/iPhone - I personally think something could be done to make the Mac app more distinctive compared to the iPad/iPhone app. 2. Also, being a web app, it’s performance is wanting compared to native Mac kanban app. I would open my laptop from sleep, go directly to MeisterTask, click on a card and start editing something halfway until it refreshes to a blank screen and the card display reappearing without saving my changes. Accordingly it becomes unresponsive once my laptop is disconnected from the internet. I tried some native Mac kanban apps through the App Store and all of them - without exceptions - performs much, much better. 3. Pricing. There’s a large jump between USD per month to USD 8.25. For something that I use personally without any team members to manage my workflow, 3 projects in the free tier is not very workable. It’s a very small number. I don’t need the unlimited projects of the USD 8.25 either. Something right in the middle (for example, let’s say 50 projects) with a more reasonable pricing would work. It’s much more expensive than Trello without much of the advantages. 4. Speaking of the USD 8.25 pricing, the paywall. I believe there’s been a new feature locked only for the business/enterprise users...which the Pro users does not really have an access to. It might’ve been a useful feature for productivity, but there’s no option for the Pro users to say trial that new feature (if you want to move them up to the Business accounts) or add on top of their Pro subscription, which, for the price and the relative lack of meaningful update, is still a bit too expensive for me. 5. Relative lack of new features. I’m not really sure whether there is a roadmap of what would be introduced to the app (particularly for the non-Business users?) I do think that there’s a lot that could be worked on such as (a) displaying to-do items directly on cards, (ii) “nested” kanban (so that it would be possible to have a kanban for a general work overview and then another one for each card to manage the minute details of your work or (iii) column autosort based on due dates (I’m not sure whether this is already in?) 6. Adjustment for personal use. This is more about how I use MeisterTask but if you’re a personal user, you probably won’t need the “assign work” feature. It would be great if that could be switched off as the user badges kind of clutters the interface. **Recommendations to others considering MeisterTask:** Do take a close look whether this is an app suitable to your needs. I tried many project management apps / to do apps such as Things, OmniFocus, Todoist, Microsoft To-Do etc. but it seems that the Kanban workflow is the only one that really works for me. Not all types of workflows would work with Kanban, just as not all workflows would work with simpler nested to-do list. Do consider how you work and how you would like to manage your work before diving in. The free tier (although limited in the amount of projects, unfortunately) is pretty useful in determining whether this works for your workflow. Take advantage of that before purchasing as this is not a very cheap product. **What problems is MeisterTask solving and how is that benefiting you?** Despite much of my complaints, I do think it’s a pretty useful app. It’s certainly very helpful in managing workstreams (especially if you have a lot of them). ### 12. I've introduced this tool to my teammates at work and we use it to organize events, projects, and more. No more spread sheets, no more printing things out. We just pull this up and assign tasks! You can also easily create multiple boards and attach files and more. I think there is a limit to free versions, but working for a nonprofit means we try and utilize as many features as we can. I've tried multiple things, but this was my favorite and integrated with Microsoft Teams, too. Other apps may also have, but this was the one I've been using now for a while. **What do you dislike about MeisterTask?** The only downside is that some features are behind a paywall, but most of what you need can be found for free. But integration and a few other features may be worth getting once my team gets a bit of a budget. **Recommendations to others considering MeisterTask:** Customize the columns and break up tasks into chunks. It helps and is refreshing to move pieces rather than stare at them. Also, make sure that you use and update it, even if you don't use deadlines. It can be challenging with multiple people, but focus on getting buy-in and this will make life easier, especially if you work remotely. Now, if your organization has a few sticklers that absolutely need to see something printed and in front of them, tasks lists are able to be used in a printable view, so there are no worries about that **What problems is MeisterTask solving and how is that benefiting you?** Currently, I have no problems with MeisterTask (maybe formatting comments and such gets a little tough at first). But this has replaced post it notes, traditional project keeping and more. I even integrated into Microsoft Teams and found that it is an easy out of the box solution that I recommend to most of my colleagues. ### 13. It has so much functionality, and helps you keep your projects organised in a beautifully visual way. Its super easy to use and very user intuitive. I would, and already have recommended this tool to my colleagues and clients alike! There are various ways in which you can setup Miester Task to deal with your day to day tasks, or you can sync together with others to make a project. There is also a lot of different ways in which you make it your own, such as adding your own icons to projects, adding columns specifically related to tasks and much more. The mobile app is also very slick, enabling you to track your tasks on the go, and updating if needs be. I would highly recommend using it with the app as it makes you look really efficient if you know what tasks you've got to do on the go! Another great feature is that it can be accessed from anywhere, so if you've got to pull up some information it is always readily available for you to find more information. It's eye-catching, easy to use and packs a ton of features, which makes it my only tool of choice for project management. **What do you dislike about MeisterTask?** Some more icons to be implemented making it easier to check things at a glance. Its interface is what I would define as cute, and it has a very aesthetic visual to it that makes it possible for me to complete all my assignments in time. Because it’s cloud-hosted, it’s useful for all my coworkers that need to access information regarding a project and not have to ask someone else since we all can share the same files automatically. Regarding the communication levels, MeisterTask provides me a way to keep communicated at all times with my team to be able to discuss everything, from tasks and projects to deadlines and ideas. One of the things I find very useful from this program are the Kanban boards, which can be customized and displayed in individual and organizational levels. It’s a smart way to view all the tasks that are completed and the ones that need to be done, and get daily reports to see how the organization is doing in general terms. **What do you dislike about MeisterTask?** I can’t remember anything right now. MeisterTask is a software that is very helpful and I don’t think I’ve experienced any inconveniences with it. **Recommendations to others considering MeisterTask:** The reason #1 I would recommend this product is because it requires no training and is very easy to use! **What problems is MeisterTask solving and how is that benefiting you?** I’m really happy that I use this software because it’s just a product that I can easily log into, see all my due tasks and get them done fastly. It’s easily available anywhere because of the mobile app, which also works perfectly and has a cool structure that’s similar to the web app. I have noticed that when I use MeisterTask, my workflow is 100 times better than when I don’t, and I can contact everyone in my team if I need help with something right away.
