## About Medialyst
Medialyst is an AI-powered platform designed to streamline the process of identifying and engaging with journalists for public relations professionals, startup founders, marketing teams, and media relations practitioners. By leveraging advanced machine learning algorithms and natural language processing, Medialyst enables users to build vetted media lists in minutes, significantly reducing the time and effort traditionally required for media outreach. The platform operates through a straightforward three-step process: 1. \*\*Describe Your Story\*\*: Users input their press release, announcement, or topic into Medialyst. The AI analyzes the content to extract key themes, topics, and newsworthy elements, generating optimized search parameters for journalist discovery. 2. \*\*AI Finds Matching Journalists\*\*: Medialyst's AI agents scan thousands of recent articles relevant to the user's story, identifying and scoring journalists based on their coverage patterns and relevance to the topic. Each journalist is assigned a relevance score from 0 to 100, accompanied by a summary explaining why they are a suitable match and how to contact them. 3. \*\*Personalized Outreach\*\*: With a curated list of journalists, users can craft personalized pitches. Medialyst provides insights into each journalist's recent work, preferred story types, and contact preferences, enabling more effective and targeted communication. Key features of Medialyst include: - \*\*Beat Analysis with Relevance Scoring\*\*: The platform assesses journalists' writing patterns and topical focus areas, calculating relevance scores to ensure alignment with the user's content. - \*\*Waterfall Journalist Enrichment\*\*: Medialyst employs a multi-tiered approach to gather comprehensive journalist profiles, including professional contact information, publication affiliations, historical articles, and social media presence. - \*\*Real-Time Email Verification\*\*: To enhance deliverability, the platform verifies email addresses in real-time, reducing the likelihood of bounced communications. - \*\*Custom AI Research Agents\*\*: Users can create custom AI workflows tailored to their specific needs, automating various aspects of the journalist discovery and outreach process. - \*\*Integration with Email Platforms\*\*: Medialyst integrates seamlessly with Gmail and Outlook, allowing users to send and track pitches directly from the platform. This integration includes monitoring sends, opens, and clicks, providing valuable insights into outreach performance. - \*\*API Access\*\*: For advanced users, Medialyst offers API access, enabling the creation of media lists and connection to other agents via the Medialyst Control Panel (MCP). Medialyst's approach addresses common challenges in media outreach by focusing on quality over quantity. Instead of mass-blasting generic pitches, the platform emphasizes finding the right journalists who are genuinely interested in the user's story, thereby increasing the chances of successful media coverage. This methodology not only saves time but also helps maintain the user's reputation by ensuring that pitches are relevant and well-targeted. In summary, Medialyst offers a comprehensive solution for modern media outreach, combining AI-driven journalist discovery with tools for personalized engagement, all within an intuitive and efficient platform.

## Medialyst Reviews
 ### 1. Useful journalist research, with a few rough edges

At G2, we prefer fresh reviews and we like to follow up with reviewers. They may not have updated their review text, but have updated their review.

**What do you like best about Medialyst?**

I'm a co-founder, not a PR person, and I mostly use Medialyst through Claude or Codex rather than in the UI.

I care most about whether the journalists are relevant. Medialyst has done well on that. We ran 11 campaigns in a few days (more than I intended, honestly) and got more than 300 names back. Across those campaigns, the recent-article links and fit explanations matter more to me than the count. I can open a reporter's work and see why Medialyst included them.

One result was the journalist behind HBR's “AI Has Broken Hiring.” At SuperHired, we use work simulations because AI has changed what a résumé or interview can tell you about whether someone can do the job. I could immediately see why Medialyst had included that journalist.

I also like being able to ask the chat for another column, such as a coverage gap or possible angle, instead of starting the list over. The API and MCP server matter to me because I can run the research from the agent tools I already use.

I still review the results myself. I wouldn't treat any AI-generated media list as ready to send without checking the reporter and contact details.

**What do you dislike about Medialyst?**

The $149 subscription doesn't fit how I use the product. My use comes in bursts: I might run several campaigns around one story and then not touch it for weeks. I cancelled with credits left and later subscribed again because I still wanted the product. A pay-as-you-go option would fit me better.

The three-active-list limit on Starter also made agent runs clumsy. I had to export a list, delete it, and repeat. Earlier versions had uneven enrichment times and no clear completion signal, so my agents had to poll. One long chat also lost the original context.

Elvis has been responsive when I report problems; he fixed some of them the same day. The product now supports CSV export, API access, and MCP, so the workflow is less clumsy than it was when I started.

**What problems is Medialyst solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Medialyst because I usually know the topic I want to pitch but not the reporters covering it. For SuperHired, that might mean finding people who write about candidate assessment, why good hires fail, or how AI is changing hiring. Medialyst gives me a list I can inspect without doing the initial research by hand.

The recent articles and fit explanations tell me more than a generic beat label. I can usually tell why a reporter is on the list. I don't assume every contact detail is correct, so I verify addresses before sending anything.

We've connected Medialyst to Claude and Codex through its API and MCP server. An agent can do the first research pass, but I review the list and every message. We haven't used it long enough to claim placements or ROI. So far, Medialyst has saved me from starting with a blank page and given me a reasonable first list to check.

 ### 2. Medialyst Makes PR List Building Fast and Effortless

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Milena P. | Senior organic growth marketing manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**What do you like best about Medialyst?**

Medialyst makes it super easy to narrow down and create dedicated PR lists to reach out to the journalists that actually want to hear what you have to say. The timeline from chatting to the agent about what you have to promote to actually launching the campaign goes down to mere 1-2 hours instead of days worth of research and prospecting.

**What do you dislike about Medialyst?**

It's more of a nuisance than a downside, as currently you can only have 3 active lists. You can still download the CSV and keep your lists (contacts), but I would love to be able to experiment more with specific lists and be able to go back to them.

**What problems is Medialyst solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's an immense help for organic growth teams looking to start with digital PR in-house. You are handheld both by the product as well as by the team at Medialyst through the entire process to start pitching journalists super fast.
