**What do you like best about Lob?**

I like Lob for its technical integration, which allows us to connect to our system and manage things programmatically. The quick production time is a huge plus since it lets us time our mailers with precision, especially because our mailers have a dated call to action. The accurate data provided by Lob is another thing I appreciate a lot because it ensures that our mailers are reaching the right audience effectively.

**What do you dislike about Lob?**

The admin interface is horrible. It is slow and doesn't allow paging through and finding letters easily. The table interface is particularly bad, not allowing you to open up new windows. Clicking into letters and then going back to search resets the search experience. I started using Claude through the API interface to navigate instead of the web UI.

**What problems is Lob solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Lob to send mailers at scale, seamlessly integrated into our system. It connects and manages programmatically, time mailers precisely, and helps enroll patients into our program.

**What do you like best about Lob?**

I really like that I can build out our HTML templates in Figma now and push cleaner, more consistent designs into Lob. It takes a lot of the guesswork out of layout work, and it’s way easier to collaborate with non‑technical folks before anything ever hits production.

**What do you dislike about Lob?**

Still thinking through the “official” dislike, but the main friction point for me is that when something fails, the error messages can be pretty cryptic. You usually end up digging into logs or reverse‑engineering what Lob meant instead of what it actually said. It slows down troubleshooting more than it should.

**What problems is Lob solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Lob takes a lot of the manual, error‑prone work out of generating and sending physical mail. Before we used it, every letter template, address issue, and formatting change turned into a mini‑project. Now the whole process is standardized and automated. I can focus on building the logic in Salesforce instead of babysitting PDFs or worrying about whether a mail piece will render correctly.
It also solves the consistency problem. Using Figma to design the HTML templates means our letters actually look the way we intended — clean, branded, and predictable — instead of relying on old Word docs or one‑off edits. And because everything is API‑driven, we get better visibility into failures, delivery tracking, and address validation, which cuts down on rework and support tickets.
Overall, it removes a ton of friction from the communication workflow and lets us scale mail generation without adding more manual steps or people.

What I like most is how easy it is to get everything set up, how feature-rich the platform is in terms of available options, and how clearly I can trace performance. I never have to guess what’s working and what isn’t, which makes it simple to adjust and make sure every dollar spent is generating a return.

Honestly, it’s hard to point to anything I dislike. That said, cost is always a factor, but the company has been very flexible with their pricing models, so we were able to find an option that works for both them and us.

We were looking for a turnkey solution that could handle everything from mail production and delivery through to performance tracking. We didn’t want to juggle multiple vendors, deal with compounding costs, or manage complex integrations. Lob made all of that really easy.

**What do you like best about Lob?**

What I like best about Lob is the post-pay billing model. As a Marketing Operations Manager, I’m responsible for closely monitoring our budget and managing spend across multiple vendors and campaigns. Lob’s post-pay structure provides significantly more flexibility than pre-funded accounts because it allows us to scale our usage as needed without having to estimate and allocate funds in advance.

This approach simplifies budget management, reduces administrative overhead, and makes it easier to align expenses with actual campaign activity. **What do you like best about Lob?**

I like Lob's programmatic interface and minimal management overhead because I can integrate once and not think about the interface—it just works as expected. I appreciate that there are no underlying processes to manage or people to talk to get things to work. Additionally, the well-documented API made the setup fairly easy.

**What do you dislike about Lob?**

The quality of the printing is not as good as other vendors. The paper is thinner and less high quality, and the ink and printing quality, especially with images, hasn't been as crisp.  The admin interface is bad. Scrolling using pagination, search doesn't seem to refresh and creates clunky interactions, filtering lacks options that are actually useful, tables can't be sorted.

I use Lob to send enrollment mailers. It simplifies patient acquisition as our primary mechanism. The programmatic interface and minimal management overhead allow seamless integration and operation without managing processes or contacting support.

**What do you like best about Lob?**

I use Lob for automating important notices via mail, which is really helpful. I particularly like using webhooks via Iterable. We have a lot of communications to send for compliance and legal, and being able to automate those via webhooks with Iterable events instead of sending things out manually is a big plus for us.

**What do you dislike about Lob?**

I wish that they had an integration with Iterable so we could get more information about failure reasons for webhooks specifically. If a webhook fails, our view is very limited. We only get information about a webhook failure if the webhook makes it to Lob. Since there isn't an integration, if the webhook fails while in Iterable, we aren't notified and we don't know what went wrong. I think an integration would bring more clarity to our setup.

I use Lob to automate important notices via mail, which helps with compliance and legal communications. Webhooks with Iterable make this automation efficient, reducing manual efforts.

There is very little that I dislike about Lob overall. The main opportunity would be continuing to expand helpful integrations and support resources so users can get even more value out of the platform. While the tool itself is easy to navigate and very user-friendly, having more built-in guidance, examples, or quick-reference resources could make the experience even smoother for newer users or teams using Lob less frequently.

Lob helps solve the challenge of managing traditional mail in a more modern, efficient way. Instead of relying on manual printing, mailing, and tracking processes, Lob helps digitize the “snail mail” experience and makes it much easier to send physical mail at scale. This benefits our workflow by saving time, reducing manual steps, and making the process feel more streamlined and reliable. They offer a unique product that’s easy to integrate with other parts of a digital marketing stack. Their support team is also very helpful, responsive, and easy to reach when I need them.  The campaign builder functions and UI are also modern and easy to use. Reasonable priced as well.

**What do you dislike about Lob?**

There wasn’t much to dislike, honestly. The software was a bit confusing at first, but that was to be expected since it blends print media initiatives with the digital marketing stack. Even so, their support team was very helpful and made it much easier to understand.

**What problems is Lob solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The need to offer multi-channel marketing campaigns for national franchises with multiple territories across regional divides, some of which still need to be reached with physical mail pieces.

I love how cost-effective it is for our mass-mailings on behalf of our agents. Very easy to upload your content as well.

It's more on the accounting side, it takes forever for our credits to process. Sometimes we barely use them and sometimes we fly through them. Nothing worse than not having credits when we need to send out a time-sensitive mailer.

They are helping us solve the issue of cost in postage. I appreciate we can send out these mailers at the price we do.

That it integrates with our system and it is easy to view.

**What do you dislike about Lob?**

When we send our allotment to LOB, it does 3 things. 1. sends the mail 2. rejects for bad address or 3. rejects over cap. The problem with this is that it rejects over cap when the allotment is not filled yet. Due this, we have to either 1. Go in and pull a list of ones that were sent, exclude them from our targeting, and then send the targeting again or 2. keep adjusting the segment until it hits the allotment. This is very time consuming and requires a lot of back and forth. The best way to fix this would be for it to go back to the ones that were rejected over cap until the allotment is filled.

It is solving sending our direct mail allotments for the month.

Automations and tracking ability. The onboarding has been great too. We are utilizing figma so its nice to have that integration. We also love that it is post pay and price is comparable to other vendors. It seems to be performing well with just slight issues that I have noticed

It's hard to say now as we have just started using the platform. But I did notice some wonky things in the campaign flow. Error messages etc.

I like how user-friendly Lob is. It's just easy to use, which makes it nice to be able to log in and see everything in one place. This user-friendliness also makes scaling easier.

**What do you dislike about Lob?**

I would like it to help more with undeliverablilty of addresses, and be able to break down pricing by week instead of month. Would also like to have a feature that shows when the mail piece actually got delivered to the mail box, not just in one place where you see it was actually sent from USPS. There were some clunkiness with the account set up at the beginning but it's been resolved.

**What do you dislike about Lob?**

Lob is a powerful platform for direct mail, but it comes with a few limitations. It primarily focuses on U.S.-based mailing, with limited international support. While it supports HTML-based templates, design flexibility can be constrained for more complex layouts. Once mail is sent, it cannot be canceled or recalled, which makes real-time troubleshooting difficult. For large-scale campaigns, Lob can be more expensive compared to traditional bulk mail providers. Delivery times may vary depending on third-party print partners, and accurate data formatting is crucial—any inconsistency can lead to processing errors. I believe template management in Lob could be significantly improved. Currently, everything relies heavily on HTML, which poses a challenge, especially for marketing users who aren't developers. It essentially requires one to be an HTML developer to create or edit designs, which is not user-friendly for most. If Lob incorporated a Canva-like or drag-and-drop editor, it would lower the entry barrier and make interfacing with the platform much easier for the average user.

What I like most about Lob is that it keeps me in the loop. I check my inbox every day for emails from Lob so I can stay on top of what’s happening in my organization.

Other than receiving notifications, I don't use the actual platform too much. I use it more like a modern RSS feed.

Lob assists me with staying up to date with the latest news and seminars at my organization that I may normally not notice as Lob is their preferred method to inform us of latest events.

From the support manager perspective, I typically use Lob to check logs, verify whether mailings were delivered, and sometimes to cancel sends. I am able to do all of these very easily, and I'm happy with the support I get if I need further assistance.

**What do you dislike about Lob?**

The one frustration I sometimes come across is one I've set a filter, say, within Letters, and I then click into a specific letter to view the details, if I then go back to the list all of the filters are removed and I have to add them back again.

Specifically I find it useful in being able to check tracking logs, and determine if and when letters were sent.

Lob is the best way to automate sending out a mass quantity of checks as well as one off custom checks. There is detailed excel/csv output we can use for data verification and auditing. The amount of manual hours saved from this process is no small feat. Would highly recommend.

The monthly cost is a bit high but worth the time savings.

well, it is working... we are using it for the last 8 years, and we didn't have issue with sending letters.

**What do you dislike about Lob?**

1. we are using Java SKD, and there is no much support for this.
2. LOB SKD had a major version change about 2 years ago, and we had to completely rewrite our integration with LOB.
3. This version had several bugs, and it took some times to fix it.
4. about a year ago, I found a bug on the SDK. Support persom admitted that there is a bug (and this is a simple one to fix), but it did not get into the priorities. Still no fix for this.

Lob provides the flexibility and control we need to successfully manage our direct mail campaigns with ease! We were able to connect their system with our CRM and database to make mail send incredibly easy and quick for us to implement. Within a month of setting up our system, we were flying and ready to send multiple mail pieces to people through an entire 4 month campaign. We have built out the system to send mail daily and have it almost completely automated at this point. Their team was incredibly helpful throughout the entire process of set up and continue to be helpful as we grow.

**What do you dislike about Lob?**

The reporting of the delivery of the mail send has become a bit confusing as we send more mail pieces. However, this may not be in Lob's control but more on a reporting issue with the USPS system.

It helps us to automate our processes and have complete control over the mail system without the need to manage a complicated system.

I like lob's advanced product that allows us to make our direct mail campaigns as targeted and dynamic as our digital campaigns.

I like that lob has an excellence customer success team that has been extremely helpful, proactive and knowledgeable.

I like that lob is always trying to improve their product and help give us the best deal.

Some opportunities for improvement:
1. The UI does encounter lots of bugs. It's comes up several times before when theoretically the UI could do something, but because of certain stipulations, we can’t use the UI and the Lob team has to do it for us anyway. Ie. hard to see what the final print design looks like without stitch lines. File capacity limits. limited functionality when seeing costs and sends over time.


2. Sometimes feels like the use case of the end user, someone who is not a developer and wants a simplier experience, and their experience and needs are not taken to account.

Lob solves the need for additional manual intervention, and we can automate our campaigns.

Lob is a very powerful software with excellent documentation and resources to help you achieve your customized direct mail goals no matter how large or small your operation is. From a software side, the documentation and api is top notch and we have had no issues ordering significants amount of mail. It was easy to use and I was able to quickly develop a solution for our team with Lob. Within a matter of two weeks we had a fully functioning mail system with customized pieces, ready to deliver over 1M pieces a year!

The customer support team at Lob has also been fantastic! They have assisted us with software questions as well as best practices for direct mail. They are also extremely communicative and always looking to help us be as cost efficient and effective as possible with our direct mail strategies.

I cannot say enough about Lob! From their software solutions to their team they are a top notch company and a critical partner for our team!

**What do you dislike about Lob?**

One thing that has been slightly confusing for us has been the reporting dashboard, and some of the different codes from the web hooks seeming to be a bit random. I don't know all the inner workings of where these webhooks and statuses come from, my guess is that Lob is just processing them and not generating them, but they seem to be inconsistent.

**What problems is Lob solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Lob allows us to have total control of our direct mail system down to the individual mail piece. This is extremely important for us because of how our business operates and we need the ability to be extremely flexible and report on each mail piece.

The search is unbearable. It is a nightmare to search for a specific postal mail you have sent. It gives you the feeling that you cannot trust the results.
