Before we started using this tool, we relied entirely on Dropbox share links to send interactive level mock‑ups and creative briefs to our outside contractors. We ran into a bad situation while building our puzzle‑genre prototype last year. Our contracted freelance environment artist got hold of a broadly shared Dropbox link holding confidential level layout HTML files. That contractor almost forwarded that link to another contact in the gaming industry by mistake. If that had gone through, our unannounced level design would have leaked out ahead of schedule, which could have hurt our marketing timeline for the whole project. That close call really showed me how dangerous open share links can be for a small indie studio like ours.
