# Is Achieve worth it for academic advising software?

Hello G2 users, I've been doing a deep dive on academic advising software and Achieve kept surfacing as one of the more talked-about tools in the category, so I wanted to specifically look at whether it's actually delivering for the people using it day to day.

The short version from the reviews: it's one of the higher-rated platforms in this category with 60 reviews and a 4.8-star rating, which is hard to argue with. The themes that come up again and again:

Achieve reviewers describe it as genuinely intuitive for both students and staff, with one person noting they've used it for nearly ten years across multiple roles at the same institution. The caseload management, shared notes, and queue handling for walk-in students come up consistently as the reasons people stick with it.

The Outlook and Google Calendar sync is a practical differentiator. Reviewers mention it as the thing that separates it from generic appointment booking tools, specifically because availability settings and reminders update automatically rather than requiring manual input.

On the support side, the E2E team gets called out by name in multiple reviews. That kind of service responsiveness matters for advising offices that don't have dedicated IT support.

The main friction point reviewers mention is documentation. A few people note that advanced customizations aren't always well-covered, and there's no user forum for peer troubleshooting. It's a real gap if your team does a lot of configuration work.

For context, it sits alongside Jenzabar One and Agentforce Education in the broader category, both of which offer more institutional breadth at the cost of some advising-specific depth.

If you've evaluated Achieve against other tools, what tipped you toward or away from it? And for current users, has the documentation gap gotten better over time?

The documentation gap is the one honest friction point in the review base that's worth taking seriously before committing. For advising offices without dedicated IT support, the E2E team's responsiveness covers a lot of that gap in practice, but for institutions that do significant configuration work internally, the absence of a user forum or comprehensive advanced documentation is a real limitation rather than a minor inconvenience. Worth asking the vendor specifically what the support path looks like for configuration questions before go-live.
