I've had conversations with Matt Tokarz at Hirewell over the past several years about potential opportunities, but there ultimately wasn't an ideal fit during that span. Berkshire Hathaway agreed to acquire Duracell from P&G which on the surface seems simple. However, P&G's operating model utilizes shared services for all of their businesses. As a result, Duracell did not come with an IT department to support the business post acquisition. Berkshire utilized Hirewell find a CIO and I was hired as the first IT employee for the new Duracell company. My first objective was to build an entire IT department in less than 6 months that was capable of managing a go-live of all the technology Duracell need to operate as a stand alone company. This included a new SAP environment as well as all the other applications and infrastructure the company needed.
