**What do you like best about Higher Logic Thrive?**

Discussion & thread capabilities, staff at Higher Logic cares about clients' success, client user group to help gather peer-solutions to common association/company questions, lots of associate modules including websites/events/library, multiple vendors/partners that work on the software, works with a lot of AMS/CRM/LMS vendors with SSO options, does crowdsource improvement ideas, events focused on improving client knowledge of the platform, the admin's backend has data queries and email automation, flexible customization of website & webpages, flexible widgets to allow for customization of community content, admin access of communities for our volunteers and junior staff

**What do you dislike about Higher Logic Thrive?**

Some of the associated modules like the library and events have simpler functionality, the library does not have the ability for users to collaborate on documents similar to Google Docs, customization or search within a specific library or locking folders to a subset of users, HL has a lot of great ideas about how to improve the product but as the company has grown and acquired other companies - it is slower to roll out improvements to the core community product and modules, lack of junior admin access for staff that locks them out of power admin functionality while letting them run reports

Allowing users to be able to network and ask questions of their peers online, replaced our website totally to have a more interactive website and digital presence, help engage our members at a deeper level

The platform allows me to build lists that are dynamic and that are integrated with my marketing platform. We use both the community and marketing functions. I have not used any other platforms.

**What do you dislike about Higher Logic Thrive?**

There are a lot of tools within the community and a roadmap of how to use them and how they integrate with Informz would be helpful. I would like to see a user-friendly toolkit that explains how each section works.

We connect our members through real time discussions and produce automated campaigns informing our users of key benefits. We have retained a high percentage of members and our web stats have increased.

**What do you like best about Higher Logic Thrive?**

The Higher Logic online community platform works.  It's an excellent way for the association space to enable members to create digital communities.  The Higher Logic User Group is a community for Higher Logic admins to ask and answer questions about the platform.  Higher Logic Academy trains admins on how to use the platform in a strategic way.

**What do you dislike about Higher Logic Thrive?**

Ideas that are proposed by users must be upvoted to be implemented.  It can be difficult to get enough people to vote for quick fixes that seem like low hanging fruit.  The good news is HL continually improves the platform.

We're using online communities to support learners to complete professional designations and association members to have rich online discussions about current issues in their industry.  There's value in having a digital space to ask and answer questions.

A lot of helpful information.  The communication.  I appreciate all of the features.  The Community features. All of them.  I have no comparison.  I only use this one.

None to report.  Nothing is missing.   Nothng is missing that I know of.  Everything works good.  None to report.  I do not know enough to say what improvements should be made.

Experience on mobile devices needs improvement.  
Event calendar accommodates global time zones but does not automatically adjust time listings.

We implemented Higher Logic Communities nearly two years ago and it has been such an effective tool for our association. We used to have various "forums" methods, but they were messy and clunky. I love this platform because it gives our members one spot to interact, share resources, find leadership information, and more. It has really streamlined our process.

**What do you dislike about Higher Logic Thrive?**

There isn't anything I don't particularly dislike about the product. The key is getting your members to understand how easy it is to use.

**Recommendations to others considering Higher Logic Thrive:**

When launching Higher Logic Communities, don't feel pressured to do all the things. Start small! Create a few Communities where you can get engagement and involvement, and it will be easier to roll out subsequent Communities.

We used to have clunky member connection/communication. Our old forums were listserv style, so you never saw the conversation string, just one reply. This platform allows for well-rounded discussion and involvement.

We use Higher Logic for our Online Community as well as our eMarketing efforts.  We love that Higher Logic listens to our needs and really understands the importance of the little things, because even small details are important.  

The integration with Impexium is critical for our success and it works as expected.  Technical support was superb.

We've been using HL for years for our online community.

Online communities are synchronized with our AMS.  Access to the online communities is a member benefit.  The integration is critical.

Email integration is very good. We like the customizable interface. Controlling access via integration with our AMS is seamless.

Admin interface is confusing in spots, particularly themes and how they work.  Libraries can be a bit clunky for users.

Support is quick to find and fix issues and helpful when we have questions.

We use it for study groups for our national exam which allows us to control access to study tips, instructor recordings and notes. We also use it for member communities. Again, access control and ease of use for the participant is key.

HL's strategic consulting helped my team move from zero to 360 using the tools we purchased, the online community, email automation in Informz and website hosting.

I do not dislike anything, I want to invest in staff so they can identify opportunities that make themselves known when analyzing the data HL provides.

We streamlined our email campaigns, resulting in less clutter in members' inboxes and improved engagement measured in earlier responses to calls to action.   This resulted in greater efficiencies for staff, we could do more using technology without having to hire someone.

Our association has been using Higher Logic and its online community concept for quite a few years. At the beginning of the epidemic, our main community was the perfect place to provide updates and changes that would be affecting our members. Messaging was all in one place and our members appreciated having this tool available.

We had a slow start with our members using the community by themselves, without prompts from our team. It's always a great day to see a dialogue started and the threads grow with back and forth conversations.

Communication is better - that is the biggest benefit that our association has realized.

**What do you like best about Higher Logic Thrive?**

Higher Logic MA allows for easy targeting based on interests, user activity, member type and other demographic information. It is much easier and more in-depth than MailChimp, which is what we used previously. The templates are great, MUCH better than creating email templates in iMIS.

**What do you dislike about Higher Logic Thrive?**

We are using the new integration with iMIS Cloud, and it doesn't automatically pull all of the user fields. Also, the IQAs take about 2hrs to synch, which usually means we just use the import/export tool for new interst groups. The reporting detail is good, but has a lot of steps. Would like to see the interface a bit more slick.

Push your sales rep to show you demos and be very specific about you can replicate and improve your current processes.

The admin platform is pretty intuitive for a "non-techie" like me. Customer support is super helpful!

Expensive, invoices are vague without specific dates, etc.

Consider Higher Logic for ease of use and customer service. Beware of adding modules from the get-go. Start with the online community and consider modules later on if your budget allows.

It is a great tool to start doing email marketing at an advanced level automatically. You can have analytics of the response of your email recipients towards your email. Higher Logic Marketing Automation also helps you target different groups of your customers based on different factors.

Users should be able to make custom layouts by cusomizing the templates that the tool provides.

We use Higher Logic Marketing for  email campaigns, targetting users on the basis of their demographics, interests etc.

The high level of adjustments and setups we can do can be overwhelming and confusing.

The online communities and  display could be more inviting with social media features like 'like" button, being able to share, tag someone or even a log to each community.

Easy to get started, implementation and training was simple and quick. Dynamic content and landing pages are a huge value add to the marketing automation abilities.

**What do you dislike about Higher Logic Thrive?**

Email designer is limited in the advanced design aspect, cant include polls in emails, have to use a third party tool with a link, as that feature was discontinued.

**What problems is Higher Logic Thrive solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We manage all email marketing through higher logic, with dynamic content based on the previous interactions and user information. Also we use it to dictate which content the user receives next based on how they interact with the emails they receive.

It's easy to navigate and it's custumizable. It has a lot of different features. It's a great place to communicate with others, share ideas, find resources, and talk to industry experts. Users can earn points for the completeness of their profile and engaging in the community, which helps motivate the users to use it more frequently.

**What do you dislike about Higher Logic Thrive?**

It has some limits on customizing. There are a lot of different features, it can be a little confusing at times. However, the more you use it, the easier it gets.

**What problems is Higher Logic Thrive solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Creating an online communtity for our employees and customers. A place to ask and answer questions, post training, and provide documentation. A place for people to post feedback for ideas and improvements to our solutions. We also use it to post announcements and can provide a "to-do" list for users.

**What do you like best about Higher Logic Thrive?**

We use HigherLogic for both our website and our community.  For our website, I like the BootStrap framework, because it is so responsive, mobile-friendly and open-source.  For our community, I like that they help us to increase engagement, set community goals, and have so many features that are what we need!  We also have single sign-on integration with our AMS, so our members find it SUPER convenient to only have one username and one password for all things relating to our association.  Also, I just have to say a positive word about the HigherLogic Support team.  I have never known software support people who responded so quickly and were so knowledgeable, and the knowledge extends not only to HigherLogic software but also to how it might interact with other systems (like AMS or email management), how browsers or versions might affect HigherLogic, etc.  VERY HELPFUL!!. 

**What do you dislike about Higher Logic Thrive?**

I have to be honest and say there's not much I dislike at all.  One possible improvement would be if reports were more "configurable" (meaning that I set up reports I want, rather than having to choose from a list of ones that are pre-made). In addition, it brought our website into the 21st century so we are mobile-friendly and responsive to any device (desktop, tablet or cell).  Our membership is growing steadily, our engagement is increasing steadily as our members understand how to use the communities, and views to our page are continuing to increase steadily...after using HigherLogic for years!

For our small marketing team, we were looking for a solution that would take us beyond the upload a list and send it out capabilities that our previous email provider offered. We were spinning our wheels creating and uploading lists rather than taking advantage of a solution that was fully integrated with our AMS. This product solved that problem with auto-updating, integrating list building capabilities - as well as plethora of other data points about our users that could allow us to target our messages in a more effective manner.

There are some limitations as to what data our AMS can pass into the Marketing Automation Professional for personalization fields, but those can be uploaded into the system as needed.

The Higher Logic platform is super configurable. You can take a barebones forum and upgrade it to what looks like a completely custom solution. I really appreciate the ability to add components as the community matures. It's a good idea to have a strategy from the beginning, of course, but it's convenient that the platform can grow with your community. It also has a nice suite of reports built in.

The back end isn't the most intuitive, and it's really easy to forget where particular features live. All in all it's a minor complaint, and over the four years I've been using Higher Logic, it has been updated and improved some.

We used a different platform for community before migrating to Higher Logic, and the biggest reason for the switch was configurability. We use the community primary for technical support, and the software we support is very technical, so we need ways for customers to share files with us, privately message us and each other, access gated document libraries, etc. We have been able to create a more granular permissioning scheme which allows us to serve the community users more efficiently. We've found we can use the community for more than information dissemination and Q&A.

The program evolves as our needs increase.  Higher Logic is constantly looking for ways to improve their product and increase customer satisfaction.  We are one of their smaller clients and yet they always treat us like we are their most important client.

There really isn't any part of Higher Logic that I dislike.  The system runs smoothly, they have the best customer support department I have ever worked with and they check in with us periodically just to make sure we are running smoothly.

BE prepared to devote staff and time to the initial set up and marketing to your members.  It took us a while to change member culture on social sites but the rewards have been worth the initial effort.

If Higher Logic hasn't told you about automation rules, then you need to ask. This is what sets them apart from the competition. You can do a thousand things with automation rules. Some of the things I am using it for is to personalize the customer experience.  For example, we have a product support community, and have many products. I can setup automation rules to say, "if a customers has this product, show this blog to them when they log in". Another example is that you can send emails directly to customers that haven't logged in for X number of days. Or ask customers to fill out certain parts of their profile. It really is endless and fairly simple to do.

**What do you dislike about Higher Logic Thrive?**

I guess in any platform for community  you can find things that are not great. We are a global company and it would be great to have language resources. I think in the Tech space it is super important. Being able to have a Japanese or German community in that language would help set us apart from the competition. I keep asking them about it, but for now, it's still on on their roadmap.

Higher logic as a fairly robust API. I have have connected the platform to SSO, SFDC and to other technologies. This will help us to solve the problem of customer experience.  My goal is to setup a "One-stop-shop" so that that customers can get their information quickly in a digital way. We are also starting to solve the case deflection issue and retention issue. Higher Logic is helping us do that.

The mailing designer 2 templates are "responsive" so that you don't have to hand-code both desktop and mobile versions. There are a decent amount of options for components and you can create your own reusable components on a per template basis. They recently rolled out an open html component so you can do some coding without having to create a full html email which has been nice.

I would like reusable/custom components (layouts) to be available across all templates.
Customer service response time is slow and they've introduced bugs when "upgrading" that have gone unresolved for several days quite a few times.

HigherLogic is great accross the board. They build produts to last with the client in mind. In my expereince once you're onboarded you'll never want to leave or need anything else. Have an idea that would make their product better? Tell them and they'll actually work on it. Seriously. This brings me to their client support and customer service. 110% This is where HigherLogic really shines. Once you sign your contract you are cared for. Once you complete onboarding you are still cared for. Been a client for awhile? They are still there to care for you. They want you to love the product, use the product and improve your business with the product. 

I'm fairly techsavvy and went through onboarding smoothly so my HigherLogic rep would comes to our meetings with creative ideas to help our strategic goals. Not only are they helping us get the most bang for our buck and find success with their products, but they're also making me look good in brainstorming sessions! 

Down to the details: Are you the first person to have some weird ask? They will find the right person to get you the right answer. No question is left unanswered and they offer multiple training methods for those that don't want their handheld. You have the option for in-person training (in non-COVD times), online training, group sessions, one-on-one training, videos and written trainings. Everything is customized to your business and your needs. 

My company is pretty unique in our membership style and goals. The HigherLogci team went above and beyond to make sure the Community fulfilled out needs. We have greatly increased our member engagement and we can track in great detail where we've had success and who we still need to engage. Higher Logic's products are easy to use, helpful to the user and very VERY detailed. You can track EVERYTHING. We have loved having so much data to influence our decisionmaking and prove the ROI behind using HigherLogic.

Onboarding is a little too timeconsuming. If you have someone at your company who will be fully dedicated to learning how to use HigherLogic and managing everything, then you should sign-up without hesitation. If you don't have an employee to dedicate to this software, then the HigherLogic team will help you make the time and support you where needed, but it will take time. You'll need to make time for the trainings to get the most out of these products. The ROI will come without doubt, but you can't just wingit. You actually need to spend an hour a week or more on learning the product for a few months.

It's been a long time goal for us to increasae our industry engagement and communicate our efforts with non-members. The Higher Logic Online Community allowed us to connect with our members, build a network of industry contacts through our members and other outreach, learn what content they care about and keep them engaged.
