One thing I&#39;d pull out of the reviews rather than the datasheets: the roaming clients get praised in general, but the complaints cluster around devices that rarely check in, which is your exact question. Policy updates and agent upgrades assume the device eventually reaches the service, so a laptop that lives offline for weeks can drift. Umbrella and DNSFilter reviewers both describe the agents as dependable in the field; the difference-maker seems to be whether your MDM can force agent updates independently of the DNS service. Worth asking any vendor how a six-weeks-offline device behaves on reconnect, because that reads like the untested path.
