I really appreciate the ease of use with Heimdal. Adding new machines is simple and quick, and the visual overhaul of the dashboard makes it easy to see everything you need at a glance. The home screen shows you all the important info, and if action is needed, it's right there. Heimdal Application Control allows administrators to implement application whitelisting policies, ensuring that only approved software can run on endpoints. The Application Control feature for MacBooks is not yet operating at an optimal level and requires further enhancement to meet security and operational expectations. Moreover, failures in the Heimdal agent's auto-update process can result in agent disruption on endpoints, highlighting the need for configuration refinement and more robust update handling. Patch management; OS and third party. Provides clear landscape of outdated per device and provides confidence of Cyber Essentials accreditation.

Endpoints overview. Provides clear scope of all connected devices, the device information is particularly helpful for troubleshooting.

The third-party app patch management module doesn’t let you push updates per device or per patch as easily as the OS patch management module does. Some users have also reported that Heimdal sometimes forces restarts after patches are applied, even though we don’t have that option enabled in our baseline settings.

In addition, some of the descriptions within the endpoint settings platform aren’t very clear, which can make it harder to understand what certain options actually do. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The support and account management are very good. Once you get a grasp of how to use Heimdal, it’s pretty easy to work with. I’m not a huge fan of the UI. It’s also a real shame that we can’t fully integrate it with our PSA, so alerts can be sent directly into it and opened there, rather than having to open them in Heimdal. On top of that, some information is only visible in Heimdal, and overall it feels like it’s designed to steer you toward using their SOC. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What I like best about Heimdal is that it's the most complete package we've used compared to previous platforms. The board is happy with it, and even though it costs more, the value is clear. The main thing I dislike is the USB management. Unlike our previous platform, it's less intuitive to identify and unblock devices since Heimdal uses VID numbers rather than showing the device and machine name directly. Not much, of course the tool is new for me and I need to learn and adopt, but is quite useful Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What I like best about Heimdal is the automated patching. It saves us a lot of time since we don’t have to manually patch all our software anymore. Even for apps not natively supported, we can push scripts to check for updates, which is a huge benefit for our operations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The main thing that catches us out is the reboot notifications for laptops. The notifications could be more prominent because users sometimes miss them or they get hidden behind other windows, leading to surprise reboots. Also, the remote desktop tool isn’t very intuitive, and the black screen feature can be disabled by the remote user, which isn’t ideal for troubleshooting. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I appreciate that Heimdal® has all features in one program, which replaces multiple apps I had to log into before. I generally like the overview it provides.
