"Clear Patch Management and Endpoint Visibility That Builds Compliance Confidence"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Heimdal?

Patch management; OS and third party. Provides clear landscape of outdated per device and provides confidence of Cyber Essentials accreditation.

Endpoints overview. Provides clear scope of all connected devices, the device information is particularly helpful for troubleshooting.

Infinity management module for bespoke software storage and deployment. This helps with ISO27001 to evidence control of software libraries. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Heimdal?

The third-party app patch management module doesn’t let you push updates per device or per patch as easily as the OS patch management module does. Some users have also reported that Heimdal sometimes forces restarts after patches are applied, even though we don’t have that option enabled in our baseline settings.

In addition, some of the descriptions within the endpoint settings platform aren’t very clear, which can make it harder to understand what certain options actually do. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Livia Gyongyosi of Heimdal

Thank you for sharing your positive experience with our patch management and endpoint visibility features. We're glad they support you with becoming Cyber Essentials compliant.

We understand your concerns about the third-party app patch management and endpoint settings platform, and we will work to enhance the user experience and provide clearer descriptions for better understanding.

"Great support and deployment docs, but UI and PSA integration need work"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Heimdal?

The support and account management are very good. Once you get a grasp of how to use Heimdal, it’s pretty easy to work with. The deployment methods are also easier than some other products I’ve used, and the documentation around deployment is really good as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Heimdal?

I’m not a huge fan of the UI. It’s also a real shame that we can’t fully integrate it with our PSA, so alerts can be sent directly into it and opened there, rather than having to open them in Heimdal. On top of that, some information is only visible in Heimdal, and overall it feels like it’s designed to steer you toward using their SOC. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Livia Gyongyosi of Heimdal

Thank you for your positive feedback on our support, account management, and deployment documentation.

Also, thank you for sharing your experience regarding the UI and PSA integration, we'll keep working to improve that.

"Automated patching makes life easier, but remote desktop needs work"
5/5
What do you like best about Heimdal?

What I like best about Heimdal is the automated patching. It saves us a lot of time since we don’t have to manually patch all our software anymore. Even for apps not natively supported, we can push scripts to check for updates, which is a huge benefit for our operations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Heimdal?

The main thing that catches us out is the reboot notifications for laptops. The notifications could be more prominent because users sometimes miss them or they get hidden behind other windows, leading to surprise reboots. Also, the remote desktop tool isn’t very intuitive, and the black screen feature can be disabled by the remote user, which isn’t ideal for troubleshooting. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Livia Gyongyosi of Heimdal

Hello,

Thank you for sharing your experience with Heimdal's Patch and Asset Management and Privilege Elevation and Delegation Management modules.

We're happy to know our automated patch management solution saves your team time.

We're constantly working to make our products better and easier to use. Your feedback on reboot notifications and the remote desktop will help us do just that.

"Comprehensive Security, Sluggish Performance"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Heimdal?

I appreciate that Heimdal® has all features in one program, which replaces multiple apps I had to log into before. I generally like the overview it provides. I also find the emails useful when they notify me about something important, like a list of computers when there's an issue. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Heimdal?

I find it can be a bit slow sometimes. It's a web app, and it's a bit slow. Sometimes. I also found the web interface not very intuitive initially. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Livia Gyongyosi of Heimdal

Thank you for the feedback on our effective tech support team.

We apologize for the inconvenience caused by the false negative. Your input helps us improve, as we constantly aim to make our cyber security tools better.

"Reliable and Security Management"
5/5
What do you like best about Heimdal?

I really appreciate the fast and effective response from Heimdal's tech support team. Whenever I log a call, issues are resolved almost immediately. The dashboard and reporting tools provide great visibility into device usage, and the explanations around licensing are clear and fair. The product does exactly what it says—protects against threats and vulnerabilities—and the support team is always quick to help clarify any confusion. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Heimdal?

Honestly, there isn’t anything I dislike about Heimdal. It works as expected, does what it says on the tin, and I haven’t encountered any issues worth mentioning. The experience has been smooth and straightforward. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Livia Gyongyosi of Heimdal

"User-Friendly Security with Quick Support"
4/5
What do you like best about Heimdal?

I find Heimdal® very user-friendly and appreciate the quick support. Heimdal® also provides outstanding service, resolving issues promptly, which prevents user frustration. The initial setup of Heimdal® was perfect, making the transition smooth. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Heimdal?

I can't see how many licenses I have left and can't set up an email notification when I attempt to access harmful websites. It would be useful if I had access rights to see how many licenses are left and have the ability to do other things too. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Livia Gyongyosi of Heimdal

We're glad to hear that you find Heimdal® user-friendly and appreciate our quick support. Your feedback on visibility over your licenses and email notifications is equally valuable, we'll keep working to improve that.

"Reliable, Evolving Security Platform with Excellent Support"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Heimdal?

I really appreciate Heimdal's ease of deployment, the integrated pane of glass for managing everything, and the fairly responsive support team. The platform consistently adds features that are genuinely useful for our needs, especially as we have a mixed estate of Windows, Macs, and Linux. The long-term investment has paid dividends, and I value the ongoing improvements, particularly the commitment to cross-platform feature parity and compliance reporting. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Heimdal?

The main drawback for us has been the lack of feature parity across Windows, Mac, and Linux—especially application control for Mac OS, which is currently missing but is on the roadmap. Pulling relevant stats for board packs can be a bit intense, requiring some digging, but dashboard customization is coming soon. These are all being addressed, so my concerns are more about timing than any fundamental issues. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Livia Gyongyosi of Heimdal

Mahdi H. thanks for sharing your experience. We're happy to read how the responsiveness and effectiveness of Heimdal's tech support team keeps coming up into reviews. :)

As you said, app control for MacOS is on the roadmap and we're constantly working to bring in line other missing capabilities too.

Also, we'll soon reveal the Heimdal 5.4.0 Release Candidate Dashboard which will bring a strong set of practical improvements across the platform:

• More flexible Windows Updates controls with per-category delays.

• Stronger compliance settings for session locking and automated log retrieval.

• Direct inbox deletion actions for Microsoft 365 Email Security.

• Enhanced Priority Update Server performance for faster patching.

• Expanded PSA integrations with M365 alert support and LAD ticketing.

Might find that useful too, I hope.

"Great Pricing and Performance with Simple Onboarding and Useful Infinity Management"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Heimdal?

Pricing is great, it performs well, onboarding is simple enough via agent mass deployment and group policy creation and Infinity Management is useful (albeit tricky to use) to deploy things ad-hoc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Heimdal?

It doesn't support the deployment of MSU files via Infinity Management (a much requested feature by sysadmins) and it is very complex/particular to use. Took well over 6 weeks of fine tuning with support to get it working to a basic level for us. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Livia Gyongyosi of Heimdal

Thanks for sharing your experience, we're glad our OS and 3rd party patch management help you save time and resources. We'll keep working to improve our Infinity Management module and make it more and more user friendly.

"Amazing Support and Effortless OS & App Patching with Easy Deployment"
5/5
What do you like best about Heimdal?

Support has been amazing. They’re always very friendly and respond promptly whenever we reach out. The OS and third-party app patching makes our jobs much easier, and deployment is incredibly easy as well.

Integrates well with software we use internally to allow for more secure management. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Heimdal?

The agent can be slow at times on computers, especially when I’m trying to gain admin rights. Overall, there’s very little I dislike about this software, and my experience with it has been largely positive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Livia Gyongyosi of Heimdal

Hello,

Reducing the need to use admin accounts - which are a huge risk factor in case of compromised credentials - is one of our goals.

We're glad to hear Heimdal's privileged access management works for you and that using our patch management tool supports you with covering 3rd-party patching faster and easier.

We'll keep working to improve our solutions.

Thanks for sharing your experience with us.

"Centralized Security and Automatic Patching Made Easy"
4/5
What do you like best about Heimdal?

I like Heimdal® for its automatic patching and ease of monitoring endpoints from one place. I also enjoy its easy-to-use GUI and real-time monitoring features. The initial setup was easy, and I appreciate their support, which is really active and provides quick solutions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Heimdal?

Updating an application on multiple systems can be a hassle. Last time I needed to update an application across more than ten machines, it only offered the ability to do so through policy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Livia Gyongyosi of Heimdal

Thank you for sharing your feedback on Heimdal's automatic patching, easy-to-use GUI, and real-time monitoring features. We understand the challenges of updating applications on multiple systems. We'll keep working to improve this area so we can offer more flexibility in the future.
