I love that Gengage can cover multiple angles, like sitting in the product detail page as sort of a chat function. It's really impressive how it can work with images and pull reviews. It's the interaction piece, like the chatbot function, that I find most valuable because it adds a lot of interaction and detail. Gengage also appears really strong, especially for product categories such as homewares and maybe more technical clothing or footwear. I think it's great for large product catalogs because it helps customers get down to a selection a lot quicker. This, along with reducing customer support tickets by leveraging customer reviews and social proof, is really beneficial.

**What do you dislike about Gengage?**

I think just being really clear why it makes that recommendation when it recommends a product so customers have trust. Maybe something like, you know, 50% of customers follow this recommendation or this is the most popular option with customers. So it gives some credibility to that recommendation.

The use case is immediately clear for any merchant with a complex catalogue: it bridges the gap between what customers search for and what they actually need. The AI feature feels genuinely intelligent rather than scripted, surfacing relevant product information in a way that adapts to each customer. Response times feel fast, and the experience doesn’t interrupt the natural browsing flow. Setup also looks straightforward, with minimal integration lift, and the conversational UX is clean and intuitive. Setup support is available as well, which is a plus. Overall, I think the tool has strong potential ROI for higher-AOV categories where guided discovery helps drive conversion.

**What do you dislike about Gengage?**

It's hard to evaluate without live data, but I am not sure how it would perform on smaller catalogues with lower traffic volumes where the AI has less data to learn from.

Addressing the gap between search intent and product discovery, particularly for brands that have complex ranges where customers don't know how to articulate what they're looking for. Another impressive feature is the ability to search by image, which allows Gengage to find products that closely match what users are looking for, between 28 to 99% similarity. I'm not sure if Gengage has easy integration with our web services, especially since we work with an outsource company. Concerns about the Gengage interface and how we can extract the data, whether it will be suitable for our systems. The biggest problem might not be with my team but with whether our source company can integrate Gengage to our website.

What I appreciate most about Gengage is how it transforms the traditional, clunky e-commerce search bar into a truly personalized AI shopping assistant.

The AI intelligence is genuinely mind-blowing. Instead of forcing customers to type rigid keywords, it lets them use conversational, context-rich prompts. For example, someone can type, “It’s very hot today, I want to wear something in red tones—what should I choose?” Gengage doesn’t simply return red clothing; it takes in the weather context, understands the intent, and even considers the user’s past behavior. If it has learned that this customer tends to prefer button-down items based on prior interactions, it immediately surfaces those options first. It feels like giving every visitor a personal stylist.

From a merchant’s perspective, the UI/UX is excellent. I come from an e-commerce background but don’t have coding skills, and I found the dashboard extremely intuitive. The integrations were also very smooth: it synced with our existing product catalog effortlessly and didn’t require developer support. Performance-wise, it delivers these complex, highly personalized results in milliseconds, with absolutely no noticeable lag for the end user.

As an entrepreneur, it also removed the technical barrier for me. I don’t code, and I usually assume integrations will be a headache. With Gengage, there were no bugs, no downtime, and no complicated setup to fight through. It’s a “plug-and-play” solution that genuinely works as promised.

I was extremely impressed by the demo of Gengage. I think it's great that it's an AI agent, making people very comfortable to share any sort of questions without feeling like they're bothering anyone. It's extremely helpful and a very attractive point of the product that people might feel more honest and open when talking to an AI agent than to a person. I particularly find the comparison feature very helpful, especially since it doesn't narrow down too much and really listens to the customer. There's also a much lower likelihood of any friction, which often happens between humans when solving or clarifying small questions.

I would be important to not be overpowering and let the customer, you know, give the customer time and space to do their own research on their own time. And only interact when requested.

I like that Gengage easily detects what you need according to the keywords you give, and it can ask for more details, like when you're looking for a lip gloss, it will ask about the color you prefer. It's a really improved AI chatbot, almost like having a chat GPT on a website where I shop. It's really easy to use; texting to this chatbot feels like talking with friends via WhatsApp. I also like that it offers various sub-lines or subtitles for products, like when you ask for mascaras, it shows options like brown mascara, black mascara, etc. This allows me to go further on what I want. Additionally, the initial setup was really easy.

**What do you dislike about Gengage?**

I think as a company, as a brand, I want my sales increased, right, and my profit increased. And I see that a lot of consumers, putting products onto their basket and then they're not buying them. They're not purchasing them. And we are trying to engage those clients, those customers who have products on their basket, but they're not purchasing. So maybe Gengage can add, for example, when I type blush, that Gengage can offer, show the product that the customer has in his or her basket. It can offer that products.

Another feature I enjoy is allowing customers to upload a picture of a product they're looking for, and then being presented with similar options from the market. Additionally, having the most common questions listed for products provides customers with quick answers. Together, these features make Gengage feel faster, smarter, and more intuitive, helping customers get to the right product with far less effort.

**What do you dislike about Gengage?**

Navigation between product details, FAQs and supplier information feels disjointed. I am still not sure if the information provided to the customers is biased or is it ethical. May need tighter governance as it can present false reviews to customers. Overall, the platform would benefit from the tighter data governance, more intelligent automation and a more seamless user flow. In terms of the UI, it should not look like chat bot on one side of the screen.

One example for me was looking for a machine without knowing the exact model, so instead of browsing dozens of products, I described what I needed in the chat and quickly found a suitable option, which reduced the chance of me leaving the site without making a purchase. The aspect I find most valuable is the relevance of the recommendations. If the AI consistently understands my intent and suggests the right product, that creates trust and makes me more likely to complete a purchase. What really matters to me is its ability to understand what I'm looking for even if I don't know the exact product name, so if it can interpret my intent and recommend a relevant product, that's the biggest value for me. The initial setup was straightforward and intuitive, and from what I saw it looked simple and well guided.

I think what could be improved is the potential for users to spend too much time within Gengage. There are so many features, and I didn't see a prominent enough CTA button that prompts users to add the product to the cart. The Gengage agent just encourages users to explore more comparisons or features of the products, or to find other products. I think it needs to do a better job of moving users along the conversion funnel to the next stage.
