Importantly, it enables employees to take greater ownership of their development while giving leaders better data to make informed talent decisions.

**What do you dislike about Fuel50?**

Fuel50 requires a meaningful upfront investment in skills architecture, data governance, and change management to realise its full value. The platform is powerful, but not a plug‑and‑play solution—organisations need to be clear on their talent and mobility strategy and support adoption over time. Some advanced use cases (such as gigs and broader mobility) take longer to mature and depend heavily on organisational readiness rather than the technology alone.

**What problems is Fuel50 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Fuel50 is solving the lack of visibility and mobility that comes with traditional, role‑based talent models. It helps us understand the skills we actually have across the organisation, identify gaps, and connect people to development and internal opportunities more effectively. For us, that means stronger internal mobility, more targeted development, better workforce planning, and a clearer signal to employees that growth and careers are possible without leaving the organisation.

**What do you like best about Fuel50?**

I love Fuel50 for so many things, but best would be Skill Inventory, and the alpha products within it, like Skill Harmonization, which have been especially useful. Fuel50 has become the only platform where staff can see their career progression options. The new Skill Inventory has been an amazing tool for updating and adding skills. I also appreciate how the Skill Harmonization feature has made consolidating our systems easier, especially given our specific skill requirements across different disciplines. The integration capabilities with tools like Salary.com, iCIMS, and Oracle are effective, allowing seamless role data exchange and skill updates. We initially bought Fuel50 for its enterprise-level mentoring platform and have significantly expanded its use to include a full skill library and detailed role mapping. Starting small made the initial setup smooth, and our expansion over time has been successful. I highly recommend Fuel50 because it's been meeting the needs of our institute from day one.

**What do you dislike about Fuel50?**

We had trouble implementing Gigs several years ago, but that was mainly due to internal issues with the time commitment for a gig host. However, this was before gigs went through a redesign.

**What problems is Fuel50 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Fuel50 provides an enterprise-level mentoring platform, maps a full skill library to roles, and allows staff to see career progression options. The new Skill Inventory and Skill Harmonization feature streamline skill tracking, making it easier to consolidate systems across our institute.

**What do you like best about Fuel50?**

I have a career consulting business, and I have found Fuel50 an invaluable tool for helping people recognize their inherent talents and abilities, their career drivers, and their deeply held values. It's an easy, user-friendly tool that people engage with quickly and relate to well. It expedites the career coaching process, enabling people to gain useful insights in a much-reduced period of time. I highly recommend Fuel50. It's engaging for people to use and the reports are insightful, making the career coaching process clearer and expediting understanding for the user.

**What do you dislike about Fuel50?**

I find the talents and skills tool the least valuable one. I'm not sure how that could be improved, but that is the one that I get the least value from with people.

Fuel50 is a fantastic career development platform that truly helps individuals understand their strengths and translate them into meaningful career growth opportunities. It makes it easy to identify the skills you both excel at and genuinely enjoy, then connects those insights to potential lateral moves, stretch assignments, or future career paths within your organization.

What I love most is how it encourages real conversations — not just self-assessment. It helps you identify people within your company to connect with, so you can learn firsthand about their roles, challenges, and what it takes to be successful in them.

The platform produces easy-to-read reports that you can share and discuss with your supervisor, making it much simpler to align on career development goals, learning priorities, and projects that showcase your transferable skills across departments.

Currently, there is only a one-way API from our HRIS system. I would prefer if the output could be automatically integrated into each employee's record, especially for mandatory performance reviews and development plans.

**What do you like best about Fuel50?**

What I love about Fuel50 is how it personalises career development. It’s like having a friendly guide showing you potential career paths and the skills you need to get there. It aligns personal goals with company needs, making employees feel valued while helping businesses grow a motivated workforce.

The platform encourages proactive skill-building. For leaders, it provides valuable insights into employee interests and skill gaps, making it easier to make informed decisions about training and mentorship.

Overall, Fuel50 fosters a culture of continuous growth, helping retain top talent by nurturing their potential and driving performance. It’s all about creating a win-win scenario for both employees and organisations.

The F50 team were great during implenentation, keeping us informed all the way. Regular meetings meant that both parties knew exactly where they were.

The custom support team is very good. Easy to contact and quick to reply.

**What do you dislike about Fuel50?**

One aspect I dislike about Fuel50 is the navigation. It often feels like there are too many clicks required to get to where you want to go. The path to finding specific features or information isn’t always clear, making it sometimes frustrating to use. Simplifying the user journey would significantly enhance the overall experience.

For example, to review one of my skills, from the home page, it's Personalise (tab) > Personalize (button) > scroll half way down and click a tiny "Review" link. If you don't know what you're doinf, finding this would be pretty difficult. As the platform is aimed at user skill review, this should be front and center.

**What problems is Fuel50 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Career Path Visibility: Many employees struggle with understanding their potential career paths within a company. Fuel50 maps out clear, personalised career trajectories, helping employees see their future within the organisation. This fosters greater engagement and motivation.

Skill Development: Identifying and developing the right skills can be challenging. Fuel50 helps pinpoint the skills employees need for their desired career paths, providing targeted development opportunities. This ensures a more competent and adaptable workforce.

**What do you like best about Fuel50?**

The engagement tools - the profile and session notes tools - have a lot of potential for managers who take advantage of them. The way I explain it is that this is your opportunity to tell your manager what's important to you and what you're looking for from your career, and I've heard from managers who get a lot out of looking at employees' values, motivators, etc. It's a little intimidating for some employees at first, but once they start using it, very few have issues. It's easy to navigate and pretty intuitive, so even for our tech-averse population it's a viable tool.

**What do you dislike about Fuel50?**

The lack of down chain visiblity and reporting limitations are a major issue. We a) have a good number of dotted line reporting situations where relevant managers don't have coaching tools available for employees, and b) have a managerial culture that wants to be able to see profiles and data down multiple levels. We've developed some internal reporting to address some of that, but it was a months long process of back and forth with Fuel50 support to get the data and access we needed to create our own reports.

**What problems is Fuel50 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have had a process for documenting performance and behavior problems, but no way to document effective performance over time. Being able to document goal completion is a big win for us. We currently don't have formal performance evaluations, so having a simple, user-friendly tool for documenting goals is helping us move to preparation for that. We haven't had a culture of employee engagement so, again, having an easy-to-use platform for engagement has helped us move towards normalizing engaging with employees beyond cut and dried metrics. Having a centralized place to document and then easily access session notes is a big plus.

**What do you like best about Fuel50?**

I love Fuel50's approach to their user experience, they put the employee at the centre of their design and this makes it simple to use. Implementing this product, syncing it to our workforce architecture has been easy to do because of their in-house experts. Fuel50's after sales service have been easy to work with. We have well over 70% of employees returning to the product, showing the value they find with the tool.

**What do you dislike about Fuel50?**

Though the integration with our our primary employee database was done, they can do better with API integration for reporting purposes. We are currently relying on SFTP protocols which is not the most effective or secure approach.

**What problems is Fuel50 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Lack of awareness of available roles and what skills those roles need to be successful. Connecting mentors and mentees and creating visibility of the skills we have in the organisation and at what proficiency levels. We're able to help employees see where skills they have are required. We're able to recognise the employees with skills they possess.

**What do you like best about Fuel50?**

The platform offers a great mentoring module, a talent market place, career assessement tools but also personalized career parthways... It is unique to have access to all these functions in one place. The UX is far better than other platforms we have. 80% of our users are coming back after a first visit.

**What do you dislike about Fuel50?**

The quality of dfata in the organisation is an important requirement. The mentoring module cannot be segmented as we wish. The platform needs to innovate now by integrating CV review module or AI coaching.

The implementation of the Fuel50 platform enabled our organisation to take Career Development to another level by having in one place career pathing, mentoring, a talent marketplace for gigs...

**What do you like best about Fuel50?**

Fuel50 enables companies to become skills-based organisation. Its capability to apply skills logic across all its modules is hugely beneficial and helps link opportunities to interests. The platofrm is "always-on" so that colleagues can use it whenever it works for them. As a partner Fuel50 are very accomodating, collaborative and engaging throughout the contract.

**What do you dislike about Fuel50?**

The initital product was very innovative but since then any new initiatives they have pursued have lacked that innovative spark. Also in terms of metrics and MI the platform is basic in terms of reporting and the insights they provide dont always hit the mark in terms of business needs and custom builds.

**What problems is Fuel50 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Fuel50 is the sole repository for skills management in the organisation. It also runs our performance management module which is mandatory within the organisation. The platform also allows us to use the mentoring and gig functionality.

**What do you like best about Fuel50?**

The focus on individual development coupled with an oppportunity for employees to give and receive competency-specific feedback really allows our employees to engage with this platform in a meaningful way.

**What do you dislike about Fuel50?**

The challenge that we faced was with creating more specific competencies for our workforce. The organizational design team was terrific to work with, but in order to grow broad company engagement, we need to be able to define the specifics for our technical workforce.

**What problems is Fuel50 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Visibility for employees on how they might be able to grow within their function and beyond! We're encouraging the use of self-assessment exercises to kick off development planning and are looking forward to implementing succession planning in the next year.

**What do you like best about Fuel50?**

Pretty good user interface - intuitive and flash looking. I also really like the quizzes about values and work style - they were detailed enough that you don't feel you're getting a generic vague answer.

**What do you dislike about Fuel50?**

The Goals features don't really work well for an organisation which has review periods i.e. Calendar Year. Have to copy and paste the whole goal and sub goals over. If had duplication function would make this easier. Also can't view goals set in one year easily - not straightforward,

Completing performance reviews for the calendar year. These are tied to our remuneration.

Being able to give our people a platform on which they can think about, talk about, and plan their careers in a way that is specific to them and their needs/values/aspirations.
Easy reporting.

**What do you dislike about Fuel50?**

The limitations of the site. There are some functions that I would expect to be available as a baseline, but are not. So we have to come up with work-arounds, say no to our people, or pay for customisations. I feel it needs to be more intuitive. It would also be handy to have more admin access to upload and manage user data from our end.

**What problems is Fuel50 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Not yet realised as we are still in planning/pre implementation but the goal is access data that highlights skills gaps and trends to support organisational training, development and succession planning. And to give our people the insights needed to conduct self-assessment against all capability areas, to understand what skills are critical to the organisation and individual roles

**What do you like best about Fuel50?**

It puts development into the hands of the individual and provides managers and coaches with tools and frameworks to help them provide great and consistent support.

**What do you dislike about Fuel50?**

We have not yet switched on API so the only downside for us right now is the time delay to get a new starter loaded in the system. It will be great when this is automated.

**What problems is Fuel50 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Transparency is a key one. Our people can see career pathways and the skills and competencies need for any role in the company. They can also reach out to coaches through the system and don't have to rely on having established networks to access coaching relationships. The tool can help new people build networks. Helping our people tune in to what really matters to them helps them to find roles that are a fit for that. Our engagement around career immediately increased when we introduced the tool and we are getting great feedback as we add on new features.

Low view among staff regarding investment in their work and career aspirations/ the view around performance management being a task rather value adding.
We have realised significant benefits since the implementation across those two areas - we increased engagement of completing performance management by over 50% and have maintained that score over the past 12 months and there is now a greater buy in by employees of their leaders around their development and career at work

Not much to dislike rather a missing link for me is a direct connection (or even embedded LMS)

I guess make sure what you want/ don't want and what you need/ don't need. Start small and launch only a few features or functionalities and go large when everybody is ready for it.

Our main driver was delivering a talent management platform which is engaging, fun but also empowering staff to reflect on their personal values and career drivers, while still having a tool to run generalised performance review far more engaging than in the past, all of these aspect have been covered with Fuel50 and we are very happy with the feedback and outcome so far.
