**What do you like best about Event.Gives?**

I really appreciated how Madeline Cloer guided me through the issues with Event.Gives. She really knows what she's doing and made everything clear. I also love how Event.Gives helps us keep track of constituents, especially in our yearly fundraiser where we organize all the donations and donor information. It makes things easy to keep track of, allowing us to manage these events smoothly. It's especially helpful with the recent connection we made to Blackbaud/Raiser's Edge.

**What do you dislike about Event.Gives?**

I do not like how the page resets every time you connect someone to blackbaud. You can be on page 21, and it will take you back to zero. Makes things more time consuming than they need to be.

**What problems is Event.Gives solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Event.Gives to track events and donations smoothly, keeping everything organized in one place, especially tracking constituents that are hard to manage otherwise.

**What do you like best about Event.Gives?**

Event.Gives is super user friendly for both the user and admin. It's a clean design, makes it super easy for people to engage, offers several features, and can be used in a virtual setting with ZERO latency!!! Also, you can't beat their pricing model.

**What do you dislike about Event.Gives?**

It still is lacking some of the reporting capabilities that other softwares provide. There are a lot of work arounds as you can export the data, but it's got some work to do on here.

**What problems is Event.Gives solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The ability for my clients to use a software without having to spend too much on it. Many NPOs have volunteers managing their software and lack some technical abilities. EG platform is super easy to use for anyone, requires a very little leanring curve! Also, it works with Stripe which is super quick and easy to set up.

**What do you like best about Event.Gives?**

Their team was incredibly supportive and helpful with setting up our event site, AND it's all FREE support. We ended up paying to have them at our event as extra support, but they were available and SO HELPFUL during the planning process, which I appreciated as this year was my first year with our nonprofit. The platform is sooo user friendly and even our older demographic had no issues using their phones to bid and engage throughout our event. We exceeded our goals this year and this platform was a HUGE help in doing so.

**What do you dislike about Event.Gives?**

It took some getting used to their reporting but their customer support team helped walk me through it and helped me understand how to get the information we needed.

**What problems is Event.Gives solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Their software increased engagement and bidding by 100% this year. Allowing our guests to bid from their own devices is a huge reason why bidding doubled this year. Its easy to use and people definitely enjoyed using it throughout the event.

**What do you like best about Event.Gives?**

I honestly can not stress how much we loved switching to Event.Gives and how their ticketing feature streamlined EVERYTHING on event day. Not only was it so simple and easy to set up the tickets themselves, but guests found it very user friendly to navigate when making their ticket purchases, and check-in was an absolute breeze. The site collects and stores contact information and credit card information when each purchase is made, so by the time our attendees arrived, all we had to do was scan them in and they could immediately start mingling and bidding through their mobile phones in the silent auction. There were no check-in lines, no swiping cards at the door, and just an overall positive first impression. When we got to checkout, guests could easily pay at the click of a button because their cards were all already stored in their account. We will be using this platform for all of our future events!

**What do you dislike about Event.Gives?**

There was nothing to dislike - Event.Gives for the win!!

We completely avoided having to go though manual data collection and tedious check-in processes. By gathering all the contact and credit card information during ticket sales, it simplified the check-in process like never before. We didn't have to waste time collecting paperwork or searching for guest information. Everything was already there, neatly organized and ready to go. This streamlined approach not only saved us time and effort but also improved the overall check-in experience for our guests. With Event.Gives, selling tickets and checking in attendees became a breeze, allowing us to focus on creating an unforgettable event.

The check-out process was incredibly efficient and hassle-free. The ability to blast out personalized payment links for each guest directly to their phones simplified the payment collection, eliminating the need for manual transactions, swiping credit cards or handling cash on-site. This streamlined approach not only saved time but also enhanced the overall guest experience, as guests could simply ‘grab and go’ with their won items at the end of the night.

**What do you dislike about Event.Gives?**

Not exactly a dislike, as we were very pleased with the platform as a whole, but it would be nice to be able to customize the link blast messages, rather than them being set templates.

**What problems is Event.Gives solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Event.Gives eliminated our usually time-consuming and error-prone check-out processes by offering a secure and efficient payment links feature. The personalized payment links sent through the platform were a convenient way for guests to settle their payments quickly and easily, without the need for additional transactional steps. **What do you like best about Event.Gives?**

Event.Gives' silent auction feature was a game-changer for our gala. It allowed us to create an engaging and interactive silent auction experience for our guests, and resulted in a significant increase in funds raised. The ability to view auction items, place bids, and receive real-time outbid notifications kept our attendees actively engaged - the fact that they could do it all right there from their phones without even putting down their drinks, motivated them to bid more and added an element of excitement and competition. Our silent auction did FAR better this year than previous years and we will be sticking with this software from now on.

**What do you dislike about Event.Gives?**

Our guests, being an older crowd, were initially apprehensive about participating in a fully digital auction. We had used a similar software previously and had terrible feedback, forcing us to go back to old-school paper bid sheets. Our guests were somewhat resistant to another online silent auction, but thank goodness the platform is so user-friendly on the attendee side, because once they saw how easy it was to register and place bids, they were all sold on it.

We found that Event.Gives kept guests engaged and motivated to give more during silent auctions. The interactive features, including real-time outbid notifications, created a sense of urgency and competition among our attendees. Some of the reporting tools were perhaps not as comprehensive as we would have liked but they did the job and covered all of the basics. I believe they are working to improve their reporting tools in the future new website launch, so we will definitely be looking forward to this.

**What do you like best about Event.Gives?**

We loved that there was no cost associated with setting up an event on the platform. We were able to go on and create a manager account, have a training call with their customer service team to learn the software and all the features, and create our entire event site without spending a single cent! There was zero cost until we started processing credit cards, and the pricing works for any budget, as it is a percentage of each credit card transaction. You can choose in your settings whether you want the fees deducted from the donation amount or whether you want the donor to be charged for it. We found that our donors didn’t bat an eye at seeing a credit card fee when they went to check out, and passing on the fees helped us to maximize on the amount we raised.

**What do you dislike about Event.Gives?**

It would be great if they integrated with some CRMs other than just Blackbaud, but from my understanding that is something they hope to add in the future and significantly didn’t affect our overall experience.

We did love that we were able to include sponsor images here, though. Nevertheless, this minor aspect didn't overshadow the overall success and impact of the platform - it would just be a great addition!

While Event.Gives is a powerful platform overall, I was looking for more customization options for event branding to align with our organization's specific aesthetic, and I worried that their template was somewhat limited in its ability to do this. I’m so glad their support team is so easy to get in contact with, because as soon as I mentioned my concerns they actually showed me how I could upload a premade invitation into the template as an image, which was a super simple solution that completely customized my event page. They had a solution or work around for every ‘dislike’ I could come up with!

**What do you like best about Event.Gives?**

I have used many different platforms to plan events and Event.Gives was by far the easiest to set up, manage, and get guests checked in. I created my event online for free, the pricing was transparent, and I had great feedback and support from the staff. The customer service was great and thorough from start to finish. I worked with Jenny and she not only explained features I didn't know I could use on the site, but even gave me tips on how to utilize different them to raise more money. We exceeded our fundraising goal this year and I truly think it was due to switching to this platform.

**What do you dislike about Event.Gives?**

I wish they had item packaging, as I have done that in the past. When I talked to their team though, it sounds like they are adding this to a future update. I love that they listen to their customer's needs!

**What problems is Event.Gives solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They helped me solve the problem of long check in lines, being able to live stream auction items while also having it real time in the room, and easy communication with attendees.

One of the main advantages of Event.Gives is its ease of use. The platform is designed to simplify the fundraising and event management process for non-profit organizations, allowing them to focus on their mission instead of getting bogged down in administrative tasks. The intuitive interface and customizable templates make it easy for organizations to create professional-looking event pages and registration forms, even without extensive technical knowledge.

I wish Event.Gives had a more extensive CRM. While they offer an integration with Blackbaud, I would like to see something within their platform. They have all of the necessary tools to produce a great event, now I would like to see something that targets event management.

**What do you like best about Event.Gives?**

It was always easy to get ahold of an agent when I had any questions. They were helpful not just with the platform but with best practices for my event flow. I could set up a call anytime or receive an answer via email quickly.

**What do you dislike about Event.Gives?**

They do not provide devices to help with check-in, but the way the site is designed, you do not need additional devices. We just used our own smartphones to scan people in.

**What problems is Event.Gives solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This was the first year that we did not have a line at registration because of how easy it was for our volunteers to check everyone in and give them a paddle. We usually have to input the live auction winners and mail the items the next day. With this platform, we could input items in real time and give out the items before everyone left for the night. Guests could also checkout on their phones easily, which helped us not have to track down payments the following week.

Everything was just so easy, from the setup of our event page, to creating tickets and auction items, as well as on the night of our gala with check-in and the auction itself. All of our guests were really engaged and we ended up raising far more than last year. We used Givebutter last year and the feedback from our donors was that this new platform was more user-friendly for them on the front end. We will be sticking with Event.Gives for our future events!

This is not exactly a dislike and is defintiely my own fault, but they offer extra support options and I wish I'd taken them up on this for my first event. Overall everything went smoothly but I think having one of their support agents on site for added piece of mind would have relieved a lot of event night stress from our staff and allowed us all to enjoy it a little more.

The mobile experience was the best we have seen BY FAR. We have a large demographic of attendees over the age of 65 and they had no issues using the platform. By sending text and allowing people to use their own devices, the learning curve was basically eliminated. Our guests felt like the whole process was easy from check-iin, to the silent auction, and even having our guests donate from their phones through their Donation Link Text.

The reports that we got post event were not as robust as we needed. We were able to hop on a call with one of their team members and they walked us through how to pull the data we needed but they admitted this is an update they are currently working on so we are hopeful for that update.

We have 2 fundraising events a year and our auctions were our biggest fundraising components. We had serious pushback after using givebutter for another event and we were super nervous about switching things up. By our guests purchasing the tickets on the same interface as the auction, it helped eliminate the learning curve. Our guests had no problem using the platform and having all the links texted to their phones just made the whole event seamless. Our attendees actually voiced that they liked the platform, which we never would have thought they would say.

I really love the text feature - you can send out mass messages quickly and we found that it really increased engagement with our auction. I also love that it is a percentage of your earnings fee rather than a flat rate, that way you can manage your costs better. It looks great, and you're able to mix around the order of items and update things easily. 

Overall, super easy software to use!

I did receive some negative feedback about the check out process, as it was super easy, they are prompted to pay additional fees to support Event.Gives software. You can get rid of it, but our donors were a little put off by that.

**What do you like best about Event.Gives?**

The auction went very smoothly, and I loved their text functions for registered attendees. It meant when attendees were staying too long we could send a text that the event was over. Also the texting function for the auction bidders meant increased competition among attendees.

**What do you dislike about Event.Gives?**

It felt like a lot of features weren't clear to administrators. For example we did not know that there was an automatic tipping function. When we needed to issue refunds we had to contact event.gives to get that money back to individuals. Also we had difficulties with Stripe so getting out payout from event.gives was much more difficult then necessary even though we requested an early payout due to fiscal year end dates. They were late by their own standards. The day of the event we had some wifi issues and we were unable to scan tickets and had to type them in. Rarely were we able to bring up individual tickets if a person registered under their name and also under a sponsorship. We won't be using this service again primarily due to the financial issues surrounding stripe and their tipping practices.

The offered a silent auction platform and ticketing function for us to use. We also were able to have a website to display sponsorship information. We could also send out mass texts to registrants.

The most beneficial aspect of Event.Gives is how easy it is to navigate. From ensuring each guest at our event has all the registration info needed, to getting them checked in at the event, to filling in any missing bits of info, to being a platform they're able to navigate to bid on items at the event- it's all very user friendly.

With everything, there are always hiccups. Guests will always resist utilizing an all-online platform, but this is a minor setback and not something that reflects on Event.Gives.

It's user-friendly for attendees and the staff. Being able to sell tickets and run the auction on the same platform solved a lot of our issues from previous events. We were also able to track donor information in the platform because we sold tickets on the site. Their customer support was very helpful. I booked calls for free leading up to the event, and I ended up purchasing remote support, which was essential the night of our event.

**What do you dislike about Event.Gives?**

There was a bit of a learning curve for our attendees when we switched, but having the remote support helped. Our attendees will be better prepared next year since they will be familiar with the platform.

Their ticketing feature is what made the difference at our event since everything was done in the platform. Using different softwares for each step of the process was cumbersome. Since attendees purchased tickets on the site could get a feel for how to use it prior to the event. **What do you like best about Event.Gives?**

User friendly is an understatement. The platform itself was so intuitive that my event website practically built itself. We were able to do everything all in one place, rather than using multiple platforms which is really what we were looking for: tickets, silent and live auction, paddle raise, assigning table numbers, merch sales, and collecting credit card payments. Their text messaging feature was super convenient and allowed me to send out the ticket QR codes right before my guests arrived so we could scan them in.

Their support team was so helpful and I felt like they really just wanted to make sure I got the most out of all the features their site had to offer. They even scheduled a video call with my volunteers free of charge to train them on the software and make sure everyone was prepared for event night. This resulted in a seamless check-in experience for my guests with no long lines, which started the night off on a really positive note. The silent auction raised so much more money this year, because my guests could bid right from their phones while they mingled and had a good time. You can tell that the focus is all about the guest experience, which is what has won us over. We will be using Event.Gives for our fundraisers from now on.

Pretty simple to upload images and information.  The "Live" feature is excellent! Easy to "open" and "close" auction items and tickets.

**What do you dislike about Event.Gives?**

Not user-friendly for more complex Gala-type events.  Had to figure out ways to try and add menu options, etc.  Reports are NOT user-friendly at all.  When exporting reports, any additional options added to tickets are not easily found nor can you run them by date.  Unable to "package" auction items together - causes it to be more time-consuming when packaging items in auctions later on.

When we were 100% virtual in 2020 and 2021, this platform was the best for our auctioneer and Gala to be interactive live; this was wonderful. However, being back in person last year, we realized this platform may not have been the best.

The mobile bidding component for our live and silent auctions allowed us to DOUBLE our fundraising goal this year.  Notifying bidders when they were outbid kept them engaged while they mingled with other guests and increased bid counts by 197%, which was huge for us.

**What do you dislike about Event.Gives?**

We wished they had a max bid feature, but after speaking to their customer success team, they informed us that, based on feedback, they are currently developing this feature. I like when software companies listen to customers and build products to meet our needs. They seem hungry to keep innovating this platform.

Attendees get annoyed with the administrative aspects of events (check-in, check-out, apps, complicated processes), and clearly this platform was built FOR the attendees. We had no pushback on switching to this software from the software we used last year, which says a lot. The learning curve was nonexistent, and people LOVED using the familiarity of their own device to participate and that check-in and check-out did not have lines!

We have used Event.Gives for our annual gala for the past two years. It has made the attendee experience so much more smooth and because of this we have seen an increase in donations. The platform makes it easy for the attendees to donate and place online bids. It is also the most affordable platform we have used. Others have had contracts and hidden fees.

There is no max bid feature, and they did not integrate with our CRM.

**What do you like best about Event.Gives?**

I used Event.Gives for the first time this past spring, and now I couldn't imagine doing another event without them. Our annual event consists of about 400 attendees and a tight timeline in which we present our annual awards, host a live auction, and finish with our appeal, so checking people in quickly and efficiently is crucial for this to be a success. We used to use Greater Giving, but getting people in the door before the program started was always challenging because of the long and complicated process. This year we sold our tickets and sponsorships through Event.Gives and it was easy to set up and for our attendees to purchase them. The communication was also very helpful, in that we could text everyone with their tickets right before our event, which helped the process move along much faster. Our volunteers did not have to download anything to their phone they could simply scan everyone's ticket using the camera on their phone, it was SO FAST!

**What do you dislike about Event.Gives?**

I wish our sponsors updated all their guests' information before the event. We had some attendees show up as guests of our sponsors, but they didn't have their tickets, so we had to register them using a computer. This isn't Event.Gives fault, but it is always a common issue among our events. Next time I will use the platform more to communicate more ahead of time.

It also made a lot less leg work for our event volunteers. They didn't have to run around processing payments for auction items because guests could do it right from their phones.

Event.gives was great for our event that included silent auction and general doantions.  Check in and check out was seamless.  It was essential that all guests be able to bid easily and quickly on their mobile phones.  Set up was user friendly and the support was great!

Some of the reports were a little confusing but we ended up getting where we needed to be.  Sometimes setting up each item was a little cumbersome but, with so many tiny details, I'm not sure that can be solved!

Event.gives is solving the need to have a fully mobile and web friendly silent auction platform.  No more paper auction forms!  Guests don't even have to be physically at the event to participate in the auction!

I am not tech savvy and I was able to get a great looking event site up and LIVE within an hour. Adding items and tickets was a really simple process and the bulk import saved me a bunch of time. The whole backend is super user-friendly and at the same time, we got tons of feedback about how easy it was for attendees to buy tickets and bid on items.

We didn't know how much we could do with the table management until it was too late. That would have been helpful to utilize all in one place but we already did it with another free tool.

The Live Display component for our live auction was great. Everyone was laughing and bidding the entire time. It was super engaging and our auctioneer could address and thank the bidder each time. The whole room was dialed in the entire time, which has not been the case in the past. We are looking forward to using this platform for our events in the future.

They just released new pricing options that would have been nice to utilize for our last event. Many of our donors would have been happy to cover the fees so we are excited to be able to use that component for our next event.

**What do you like best about Event.Gives?**

Very easy to use and set up. The backend is pretty user-friendly. One stop usage for event ticketing and sponsors, auctions, raffles etc. 
Rates and fees are equivalent to the standard, and especially if you are a small event or unsure if a flat fee versus volume fees is best, this is a good way to start and find out. 
Event.Gives covers the basics without a bunch of features that you won't use. Reporting is very basic; if that is not important to you, this is your platform.

**What do you dislike about Event.Gives?**

On several occasions front end-users reported being unable to see the checkout tab which should be at the bottom of their screen when using mobile devices. This was reported, but it is hard to show what was wrong without screenshots. Also, when using mobile devices, in portrait mode, the quantity field does not always display correctly, causing users to buy more than they intended. Overall, the customer experience was not always great, I would say about ten percent had issues or expressed confusion about thier experience.
Exporting data is not easy. Initially what drew me to Event.Gives was the API connection to Rasier's Edge. This never worked as advertised, truly it is a beta feature at best. It breaks it's connection regularly. If an attendee is linked to RE without any transactions, it creates a gift of $1 on the record, which although it can be edited, can create issues. Also, tracking down all of a user/guests transactions can be difficult, as they are not all in one spot.

Having an all in one solution to sell and manage event tickets/registrations, auctions, raffle(s), and other functions.

My event guests were an older crowd and I was hesitant to use a fully online platform, but the website that is created through event.gives is very simple and extremely easy to navigate as a guest. We switched from a platform that had multiple pages and features that were too overwhelming for our attendees to navigate. Event.Gives was a perfect solution.

The ability to provide various types of event sales without utilizing a web admin to build it out.  It's easy to work with and navigate.  The auto-draw function for raffles is ideal! The Silent Auction functions have significantly improved our sales in that area since using the platform in recent years.

**What do you dislike about Event.Gives?**

Our audience doesn't like going to each basket to purchase tickets individually.  They want to add them to a cart and buy them all simultaneously.

Our webmaster has a heavy workload, and he isn't able to create our basket raffle pages quickly enough- event. Gives is easy for our development team to manage without his help.  Our website does not offer the function of a silent acution, which has been a tremendous improvement for our annual Gala.

My guests were very hesitant to switch from all paper silent auction bidding. Max bid was not an option, but there are text message notifications when you're outbid.

We have been using event gives for different fundraising groups for years. We love how simple it is to use and have trained our audience to use it over the years.

Sometimes there is a learning curve with your audience that has not used it in the past. That number decreases though when you use it for your event regularly.

**What do you like best about Event.Gives?**

Event.Gives support team was there every step of the way.  No question was too simple or too challenging.  I received both support via phone/streaming screen share and email with video recording tutorials. We didn't pay for extra support either.  

The platform was easy to use from the back side and offered features to make our in-person event a snap!  Guest check-in and check-out were easy and intuitive.  Assigning paddles, assigning tables, and ticket sales all went pretty smoothly.  The live and silent auctions were easy to set up, and with our live auction, we streamed the items and sponsors using the display feature. We also used the display feature to track our paddle raise for the evening.  Check-out worked fine, both with cc and checks for payment.  Our crowd wasn't keen on using the self-checkout option with their phones, but that's no fault of event.gives.

**What do you dislike about Event.Gives?**

Our ticket purchasers had trouble with the platform buying tickets. The automatic uptick in price for a ticket was confusing and deterred people from self-purchasing.  We paid for the customer-supported fees, and the language used and the slider bar wasn't clear at all.  Not one person covered the fees for our organization.  It was disappointing.  And we are out $500.   We were told that 80% of attendees choose to cover fees for the organization.   I had to help about 20% of our ticket holders buy tickets on the platform or just do it for them.

The auction items:  In the title, the text runs over into the description when you print an item card.  More choices with font, size and symbols would be helpful.  Under the Display feature, auction items display a "current bid" vs. a "starting bid" as it scrolls before the auction starts. This was confusing to attendees and they thought people already had bidding access before the live auction started.  It would also be nice to be able to feature an auction item in the display when the item is being auctioned off.

**What problems is Event.Gives solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed a platform that included both live and silent auctions, event ticketing, paddle and table assignments and payment processing.  In addition, we needed a way to generate reports that captured purchases, ticket holders, ticket purchases and item details.  Event.Gives provided all of those things and we can't wait to see how you improve the service and platform moving forward.

This platform really has thought of so many things that we event producers have come to rely on digital, end-user-facing fulfillment for to make events seamless. Their 1:1 support is nice to have too, even for a free+processing level of user!

Some of the UX is a bit clunky (ie: trying to add or find users), some of the features are not fully documented and result in us waiting for an email support reply to be able to find the feature or understand how to use it.

Event.Gives really allows us to have a turn-key, all-in-one solution rather than having to piece together multiple, and sometimes costly, WordPress and WooCommerce plugins.

I liked how easy it was to set up the event as well as a custom event website to go with it. Also, it was very user friendly to our patrons.

I did not enjoy the amount of fees associated with it. Many customers were upset by the fees even if they were optional.
