## Emeritus Reviews
  ### 1. Learning Alone in a Crowded Room

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consulting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 29, 2025

**What do you like best about Emeritus?**

The course environment was orderly, and platform navigation posed no issues. A few conceptual modules — particularly those exploring AI frameworks and system-level thinking — provided a useful foundation. One assignment was recognised with an Exemplary Badge, which I appreciated as an acknowledgment of the clarity and originality in that submission.

**What do you dislike about Emeritus?**

Overall, the experience felt impersonal and over-enrolled. Despite consistent, thoughtful submissions, the feedback was largely generic and disconnected from the actual content of my work. There was little indication of academic dialogue or individual consideration.

The emphasis seemed weighted toward pace and standardisation rather than reflective inquiry or personal growth. While the program touches on important AI concepts, the integration of real-world tools or deeper practitioner interaction was lacking.

As a professional seeking strategic relevance and applied insight, I found the experience misaligned with the expectations set during enrollment.

This may be suitable for learners seeking a broad, structured overview. However, for those pursuing meaningful engagement or leadership-oriented applications, the experience may fall short.

**What problems is Emeritus solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Emeritus claims to solve the problem of access to world-class executive education by offering curated programs from top institutions. In theory, this should bridge the gap for professionals seeking high-level, structured upskilling.

In practice, the benefit was limited. While the academic frameworks were solid and the asynchronous materials were clear, there was little meaningful interaction, almost no personalized guidance, and the feedback process felt formulaic.

As someone investing in both business and technical fluency, I had hoped for deeper mentoring and strategic discussion—especially at this price point. Instead, I often felt unseen in a crowded system.

The true benefit came from my own initiative: I did the work, connected the dots, and made it matter.

  ### 2. Lost my money due to their incapability to keep the program as promised

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 23, 2025

**What do you like best about Emeritus?**

About 10% of the program gave me some cream ideas, and I find them inspiring even though they're partly attached to ideas I already know.

**What do you dislike about Emeritus?**

Steer clear. Bloody thieves. They say it is safe paced and you can finish in the next few years, and start enlisting deadlines etc and when you can't make it due to work or your other commitments (self paced, is what you were sold!!) they will remove your access to the courses without any compassion or decency. Absolutely disgusted. $20k+ gone wasted. Save your money!! Content about 10% is fresh and worth, but is it worth $20k? Not really if you ask me. Its all on YouTube as well these days.

**What problems is Emeritus solving and how is that benefiting you?**

If it worked fine, it should give me the value for the money I spent. Not restricting me half way through the course. The sales agent clearly mentioned it is self paced and I am allowed to extend as long as I need.

  ### 3. There is no help from Emeritus

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Steve C. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 21, 2023

**What do you like best about Emeritus?**

nothing because I signed up for a course online from Wharton and had a question. No one was available.

**What do you dislike about Emeritus?**

no personal service, and no way to get in touch with questions regarding their courses at Wharton

**What problems is Emeritus solving and how is that benefiting you?**

None. I was interested in a course at Wharton and signed up, but when I could not reach anyone to find out when the course started, if I could defer, etc... there was no one to answer. It appears that Wharton has contracted these courses to Emeritus, but Wharton's Dean's office doesnt seem to know what courses or how to find someone to answer a simple question. I cancelled the payment and would not use this platform or recommend it to any academic institution because having an excellent name associated with a company that does not provide any support ultimately makes the institution look bad.

  ### 4. My Experience Studying online at Emeritus

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tawanda N. | Software Developer Team Lead, Computer Software, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 29, 2022

**What do you like best about Emeritus?**

I did a Postgraduate Diploma in Design and Innovation thinking at Emeritus. What i like is how they colaborate with top internationally recognised universities such as MIT, Tuck etc. I like the seup of being assigned to groups for some assignments so you can interact with your peers which i do not see on other online platforms. Their Weekly seminars with the isntructors as well as the rest of the people doing the program gives you the chance to discuss and network with people from different parts of the world.

Their teaching material is structured in short videos which are not boring as compared to watching a 1hr video, it keeps you engaged. They also provide reading matiarials and external resources which are very helpful. At the end of each course or program you get a valid credential which you can share, embed or add to your Linkdin.

**What do you dislike about Emeritus?**

The admissions does not make it clear why you are not eligible for some causes, had to write several emails to get to know that the cause s not available in my region. During application i was just told your application has been rejected without a detailed reason.

**What problems is Emeritus solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Providing affordable and flexible learning materials to people accross the world. They make it easy to learn from wherever you are as well as meeting with other people

  ### 5. Gained a high level overview of negotiation strategies, how to execute and respond.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David M. | Inside Sales Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 09, 2021

**What do you like best about Emeritus?**

I liked the interaction with students to practice negotiation skills.

**What do you dislike about Emeritus?**

Negotiation can be a personal and face-to-face process. An in-person class would have been better, but the web meetings did provide an opportunity to interact on camera and practice.

**Recommendations to others considering Emeritus:**

There may be many course materials to review, but each item is relevant and strategically adds to the following chapter material. You quickly gain an understanding of the material being tought and how to apply it.

**What problems is Emeritus solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Negotiation and influence is a course that everyone should take. It affects how we interact with everone we meet and do bussiness with.

I like how the content is structured in the platform, and also the relevance of it, in being able to apply it to my work immediately

**What do you like best about Emeritus?**

The LMS was organized in a more or less intuitive structure

**What do you dislike about Emeritus?**

I couldn't tell if it was the university's organization of the materials or Emeritus, but I didn't like receiving so many notifications initially. So making it more obvious on how to set notifications would have been nice.

Gaining executive skills
