This provides opportunities to select the best method of delivery for the assessment or critique that needs to be shared at that specific moment. **What do you dislike about Echo360?** Honestly, nothing! The platform worked well for me and my students. The only thing negative I could select would be that, although easy to learn, it is one additional platform that my students have to learn in order to participate in my course. Their plates are already full with Moodle, Google Classroom, Flipgrid, and all the other platforms that other instructors use. **Recommendations to others considering Echo360:** Take advantage of the free "walk-through" provided by the team. This was incredibly helpful in getting me started with the software. **What problems is Echo360 solving and how is that benefiting you?** GoReact allows me to assess student music performances, student conducting experiences, and teaching internship. All three of these benefit from the ability to record performance/teaching sessions and evaluating them after the fact and enabling reflection from the student and assessment from the instructor. This is convenient for remote teaching/learning and in-person sessions as well. ### 2. I was able to find the sections that I needed quite easily as well as the tools. The invite users function was also helpful to send quick invites to people that I specifically want to view or be a part of that course. I am also able to manage the users and create assignments for them to complete. That really helped because it was customizable. **What do you dislike about Echo360?** The webpage is a bit simple. I'm not sure if I really dislike that or if it's just "if I had to pick something..." kind of deal. I would like for the site to have a bit more visual appealing aspects to it and be easier to upload larger videos. **Recommendations to others considering Echo360:** I would recommend trying this out with your higher education students or with corporate training. It seems to be appealing to adults and has a mature aspect to it. **What problems is Echo360 solving and how is that benefiting you?** I can do my meetings with my distance trainees and share videos with them. It's made it convenient. I was able to connect with my trainees and work through some of their immediate needs that would normally be difficult to do if we did not have to product. We were able to share videos for critique instead of having to physically go to the site. It was much needed during this pandemic especially. ### 3. Users can easily upload videos of their work (teaching, performance, work with clients) and can get live, time-stamped comments and feedback. Also helpful is the ability to align observations to performance rubrics to calibrate performances toward specific professional standards. Personally, I also love the ability to provide both written, video-based, and recorded comments that are time-stamped and easily located by the user. GoReact is also helpful for getting inter-rater reliability on observations, great for peer observation, and great for establishing goals for upcoming observations. Videos are easily uploaded to GoReact for review and the whole system is very safe and secure. It's one of the best video services that I have used (and I've used a lot of services). The price-point for users is also very reasonable. I highly recommend this software to support the professional development in performance-focused career development (teaching, nursing, the arts, etc.). Oh, and the support from GoReact is very responsive and top-notch, with plenty of opportunities for PD and workshops to get familiar with its capabilities. **What do you dislike about Echo360?** I really don't see downsides...it's very well-designed. The pricing structure needs to be negotiated with institutions but is very reasonable and there is a lot of "bang for the buck" with this software. **Recommendations to others considering Echo360:** Experiment with its use for awhile in a "dummy" course **What problems is Echo360 solving and how is that benefiting you?** It has vastly improved my ability to provide realtime quality feedback to my students on their teaching and to identify goals for improvement. It focuses students on how their teaching supports students' learning, versus the superficial aspects of watching one's teaching on video. It provides a "safe space" to unpack both the progress and needed growth to improve students' performance. So great. ### 4. Really allows the students to see what I am talking about and how they can improve! Students have been able to improve upon their work as they review and practice to get their videos "just right"! Has definitely made some of them more accountable. Students have verbalized their increased learning from practicing for their videos and then reviewing their videos afterwards. **What do you dislike about Echo360?** Sometimes if I go back and review a portion of the video and want to leave a comment it doesn't leave it at that timemark and I have to delete and re-try the comment so it is linked at the time. This occurs when I have already viewed the entire video and then go back to review something. I also wish there was a way to make the sound louder on those "lower quality" videos. I wish that the Markers were just labeled with the first letter of each word, for example hand hygiene= HH not Ha. this would making finding them easier when several markers start with the same letters. **What problems is Echo360 solving and how is that benefiting you?** This allows us as teachers to complete skills validations right now in this COVID world where we need to minimize in person contact time. It also really allows the students the ability to improve as they can actually view themselves doing the actions. We are thinking that we will continue to use GoReact even after the COVID crisis so that students can continue to use it as such a valuable learning tool! So very helpful to have the students rewatch their own videos to improve their own technique. We also use it to show the students videos of us doing things incorrectly and having them correct our technique. ### 5. Without manually checking each submission, or asking students to inform me directly, I am unable to engage in dialog through the GoReact system **What problems is Echo360 solving and how is that benefiting you?** GoReact has saved countless faculty hours that are typically needed to provide valuable feedback for practical skills assessments. Setting up markers and rubric gives students information and focus they need to complete assignments. Being able to speed up the video is very helpful, as there are some sections of the lessons where I need to pay close attention and others where I can speed the video along. I really like that I can have my interns view the video once they upload it and use the designated markers. That way, when I view the recording, I know where to focus my attention on the objectives they set for that lesson. I love that I can comment and that the comments line up with the recording. **What do you dislike about Echo360?** Nothing yet- I am still learning, though! **Recommendations to others considering Echo360:** This is a very helpful tool. It was a game changer in COVID impacted, virtual instruction and one I will use long after. **What problems is Echo360 solving and how is that benefiting you?** With this semester being COVID impacted, it is a gamechanger to be able to view the virtual lessons my student teaching interns record. I believe that I will use this for some of the observations even after schools resume face to face instruction. I still struggle a bit with loading my information within the assignment. Also - I cannot figure out how to switch what I view without going all the way back to "Courses" ### 7. I love the fast forward function which allows me to grade faster and review multiple steps. My students always remark that they like have a private server/interface for our class to easily upload videos. **What do you dislike about Echo360?** The integration with Canvas is a bit clunky. I hate when my students pause at strange moments during their recordings. **Recommendations to others considering Echo360:** Start small and assign small anchoring tasks like record a thirty second recap of research you found for your presentation. I found assigning small tasks early in the semester helped students build confidence with the platform and caused more students to register sooner than the night before an assignment is due. **What problems is Echo360 solving and how is that benefiting you?** My students with poor bandwidth have trouble with their camera in zoom because both video and live slides buffer and cause delays in their live presentation. GoReact has allowed me to assign a group presentation where the entire group is required to be present during recording (using multi-camera). Students have also made up debates using this same feature. Zoom does not allow students to record in a breakout room so GoReact has become the "space" where these group interactions occur. Furthermore, the students get support from GoReact when they are facing technology issues which has taken the burden of being tech support for my students away from me. ### 8. The markers and text comments have really improved how I help students learn from their successes and mistakes. I like that I can also add an audio comment at the end to summarize their evaluation. **What do you dislike about Echo360?** I can't think of much right now. I have not had any problems. **Recommendations to others considering Echo360:** If you need a way to evaluate student performance, this platform will ensure you are able to provide meaningful connections and feedback with ease. **What problems is Echo360 solving and how is that benefiting you?** With virtual education, GoReact has allowed me to grade speeches in a meaningful way without being able to be present with the students. I find it possible to connect to students really nicely through my evals, as well as their self- and peer-evals. Now I am getting frozen, choppy, pixelated videos...and it is time consuming to contact students, explain how to fix the issue, and ask them to redo again for a grade. Sometimes, it compromise test fidelity/validity. Students were supposed to do their test cold. But since the video was choppy, one or two would have to redo their test. Now, it is not fair that their performance is slightly better than rest of class since this is no longer cold. But it is not GoReact's fault... I actually don't like using GoReact within Canvas because from my end as teacher, it is not convenient to switch between courses and activities to grade. I prefer to use the GoReact website itself outside Canvas. But then it means I have to manually add in grades to Canvas. The platform features just the right amount of tools, without being difficult to navigate. The initial feedback I am receiving from our faculty has been about ease of use, and the opportunities that are made available for quality coaching conversations. Support from GoReact reps has been top notch. Whenever I reach out to my rep, I hear back within a very short time. Additionally, the GoReact team has been easily accessible by faculty who are seeking tech support. We have had multiple sessions that included a GoReact rep (Dustin), where faculty have had an opportunity to get introductory training on the platform. The ability for GoReact assignment to be setup within Canvas is a significant benefit. Whenever possible, we want to reduce the number of web sites that our faculty and students are required to go to to complete setup or complete an assignment. The way that GoReact works within Canvas makes it appear to be part of the Canvas LMS. The ability to watch a live lesson within GoReact, while also using the markers,timestaps, and commenting is a nice feature. This feature is not available to some of our students, due to bandwidth limitations at the school site. Overall, video uploads have not been an issue. **What do you dislike about Echo360?** This is not a GoReact issue, but our students have had difficulty collecting and archiving video release forms from parents. I have suggested to the developers that there is a feature in the platform that facilitates the distribution, collecting, and archiving of video release forms that align to the videos that students are uploading. It would be amazing for students to have the ability to tag a file of release forms that align to the video they are uploading. Building a rubric in the GoReact platform was a bit of a challenge. It would be great if there were some formatting tools built into the rubric maker. We are using GoReact within our Canvas LMS. It would be nice if we were able to use the GoReact APP within the Canvas platform. **Recommendations to others considering Echo360:** Include faculty and students who will actually be using the platform in the piloting and decision making process. **What problems is Echo360 solving and how is that benefiting you?** We have a very large undergraduate and graduate teacher prep program. Our students are placed across multiple districts/schools. Faculty supervisors have spent a significant amount of time traveling between school sites to conduct observations/evaluations. GoReact allows our faculty supervisors to make better use of their time. They are able to spend more time providing coaching and feedback, and less time driving between school sites. We still plan to have faculty visit school sites, but their time is used actively supporting the unique student teaching model our program is developing. When we began our pilot of GoReact, nobody knew we would be in a pandemic later in the semester. The best part of GoReact is the number of options it gives my speech students to record and upload their speeches into Canvas. Other recording platforms restrict the student to using their laptop or desktop only, and get best results while sitting down only. Many students use their smartphones to record and can easily upload their speeches into Canvas. Right now I’m using Dan Rothwell’s edition 3 of “Practically Speaking” for the course text which has GoReact embedded in the ebook. Some of these GoReact resources are ungraded study aids for students to use at their discretion. So, unless I click on it first the students have no access. I love being able to see the stimulus and my recording at the same time. From the other side of the coin, I also liked how easy it was to create assignments for students. I love that there are so many different ways to set up assignments so they fit the needs of the students. Using it for ASL instruction, I never had to search far to find exactly the right format for my assignments. It even worked great to replace what would have traditionally been in class participation. **What do you dislike about Echo360?** Sometime the software was a bit finicky. For example, sometimes when I would try to move to a different spot in the stimulus video, it would get all out of sync, and the audio from the beginning would play over the video from later on. Sometimes it would take several tries, refreshes, and other troubleshooting to try to get the audio and the video to line up. Fortunately, most of the time I didn't have this problem. Another thing I dislike about GoReact is its limited functionality for phone and tablet users. As a heavy iPad user myself, I can do just about anything on its browser that a regular computer can do. One of the things I still can't use is GoReact. At least when trying to work with a stimulus video, I couldn't get it to work. It worked just fine from the set-up side of things, and I was able to use it to create assignments for students. As a student myself, I know there are lots of others like me who use tablets as their daily driver nowadays, and those students would benefit from being able to experience full functionality either through an app or their browser. **Recommendations to others considering Echo360:** I definitely advise using GoReact, especially for teaching things which benefit from a visual aspect. In using it, one thing I found is that using a stimulus video works best with a strong wifi connection. **What problems is Echo360 solving and how is that benefiting you?** I have been able to improve a lot with my ASL interpreting, due to the easy process of giving feedback. It makes it easy for students to act on their feedback as well. The best part is the intuitive nature of giving feedback. I especially loved how all I had to do was start typing and it would stop the video and I could type whatever I wanted. It required very little work for something which you can't really do with other softwares. That, to me, is probably one of the best benefits of using GoReact. ### 46. No problems. **Recommendations to others considering Echo360:** I would recommend GoReact for others. Especially with online virtual learning. This tool allows teachers to submit their teaching videos and administrators to provide timely and specific feedback. **What problems is Echo360 solving and how is that benefiting you?** No problems so far. Benefits include providing specific feedback on lessons. I enjoyed that I was able to use pre categorized feedback. ### 49. As a "mature" teacher, it took me a little while first to get use to observing students online and not in classrooms and second how to effectively use the tools provided by GoReact. **What problems is Echo360 solving and how is that benefiting you?** GoReact enables me to see my students as soon as they have uploaded their lessons. I am able to use Markers (from my educational instution) and comments to support my students in real time. Students are able to see my comments which are posted during the video. ### 50.
