# Which purchasing solutions reduce manual processing the most and improve team productivity quickly after rollout?

This part of my purchasing software research was about cutting manual work, specifically which tools reviewers said reduced processing and lifted productivity soon after going live. Each one framed as a question.

Stampli - how much manual invoice work does it remove? Reviewers describe processing several invoices in the time one used to take, and keeping a department running without backfilling roles, with the invoice and approval on a single screen.

Medius - does it cut AP effort at volume? Reviewers report auto-routing of nearly all invoices for approval and a lower AP headcount, with AI-suggested coding that speeds up onboarding new approvers.

Teampay - does it reduce chasing and reconciliation? Reviewers say requests route and reconcile automatically, cutting back-and-forth with finance, and one estimated it roughly halved their work.

PRMAI - does it shorten procurement turnaround? Reviewers credit end-to-end automation with reducing manual effort and turnaround notably; its reviewer base is mostly enterprise and India-based.

For the people who measured this: which task actually disappeared first, invoice entry, approvals, reconciliation? And how quickly did the productivity gain show up after go-live?

Approvals were the first thing to quiet down for us. Once requests started routing automatically, the constant back and forth asking whether something had been approved yet mostly disappeared within the first couple of weeks.

The real productivity test isn't week two, it's month four when the novelty is gone and the team is relying on the tool for real volume. The platforms where the manual processing reduction held were the ones where the routing logic was set up well enough that edge cases didn't keep coming back to a human.

The invoice entry piece is usually the first thing that disappears and honestly the biggest relief. My old job we had one person basically doing nothing but matching invoices all day, it was insane. When we finally got a tool that auto-routed and matched them, she was able to take on actual analysis work instead. I don't know if every team notices it right away though, it kind of depends on how bad your manual process was to start.
