The video automatically pauses and my feedback is then tied to that specific spot in the video. **What do you dislike about Echo360?** As a student, I disliked being required to pay for the subscription out of pocket. I also am not a fan of the amount of bandwidth required to upload a video, however, this is just part of college life. **What problems is Echo360 solving and how is that benefiting you?** I am able to provide quick feedback to my sign language interpreting students without downloading a bunch of videos to my computer and taking up space. I also can catch very small and fast details on the time marker and help students resolve these issues by matching the comment with the exact moment the issue arises in their work. ### 2. By using GoReact, that's not necessary. It works in the manner promised and makes providing feedback significantly easier, especially on a time crunch. **Recommendations to others considering Echo360:** It's pretty straightforward and easy to use. The video automatically pauses when you start typing, which makes it so much easier. **What problems is Echo360 solving and how is that benefiting you?** GoReact allows me to provide specific feedback to my induction teachers on the specific moments in their teaching so they can see the behavior and immediately see my response and feedback to that. It's also really user friendly and I've used a lot of ed tech programs! **What do you dislike about Echo360?** For some of my students it's been challneging for them to figure out how to upload videos specifically via their phones and ipads. I've noticed that it's much easier to navigate via my laptop but it would be really nice if it was more user friendly when using an ipad or phone. **What problems is Echo360 solving and how is that benefiting you?** I trialed goreact prior to the pandemic and it seemed so interesting to me however since the pandemic began it's 100% necessary to have the video option for my students. I can give feedback, create assignments and view the videos on a really easy to use platform. ### 4. It would be a hassle for me to grade based on a rubric I created then put my grades in Canvas. It will become too much work for me. **What do you dislike about Echo360?** Their platform design how they created a rubric for me, and it becomes confusing at the beginning. They make it little harder because I will have to create my own rubric from scratch. For example, I need to type score 1-5 with explanations. I will need to type each, but the platform itself only allow me to go horizontal way, not vertical while typing. It consumes my time to create rubric. I already had my rubric set up so I choose points over rubric. I want to have my rubric conveniently rather than making one there. Besides, it would be nice if I can create rubric there without their standard rubric. **Recommendations to others considering Echo360:** This platform is good for ASL teachers to use it, if you want to grade their assessment work. GoReact is a perfect for you to use. In addition, GoReact has a great benefit if you want to use Digital Learning Platform, you can use GoReact for your classes as well! Amazing! **What problems is Echo360 solving and how is that benefiting you?** I think I have one or two problems with GoReact. First problem is that once I created an assignment, the “green” mark on top right corner when you completed your grades and it’s ready for students to see their works. It is automatically there, but I just created an assignment and it doesn’t mean it’s ready. I want it turned off once I graded so it can be ready for students to look at their works. I had to do it manually. Second problem is that when I want to look at other students’ work, it wants me to put score before proceed. I figured out so I have to skip score every time I looked at other students’ work. What benefits I have realized is not really much. It is just a standard platform for teachers to use it to assign students to show their video assignments there. I don’t see any huge benefits for me or my students. ### 5. The most helpful feature is the ability to leave comments...students analyze their work and then we can talk about it. Without GoReact, there is not an easy way for us to get our hands on the material we are discussing. **What do you dislike about Echo360?** The only thing I dislike is that when a video assignment is set up in Canvas, the only way to get to that video is from the Canvas assignment page. It would be great if we could get into the assignments from one separate dashboard. **What problems is Echo360 solving and how is that benefiting you?** My biggest accomplishment lately was being able to require different due dates for different groups of students for the same assignment. I almost feel like there is no assignment I can't create with GoReact. ### 6. I use it as a b2b kind of user rather than from a university or institution license level. It is the only video that lets me give feedback while I see the stimulus the student is responding to while I see their response. Feedback can be given in multimedia formats, text, video, pictures, attachments, etc. I like the ability to add rubrics and badges to streamline feedback. I am really impressed with GoReact's willingness to add new features when requested by their users. **What do you dislike about Echo360?** The pay scale is reasonable for students. However, it is not adaptable to occasional use. I feel the cost is worth it if it is used for multiple assignments and assessments. However, I struggle to justify the cost when I only use it for one or two assessments in a semester. I wish there were an occasional use version for multiple courses in the same semester. If your university or institution buys a site license, then this will not be an issue. **What problems is Echo360 solving and how is that benefiting you?** We use GoReact for ASL teaching, ASL Assessment, and ASL Interpreter Training. We have fewer problems using GoReact than we did with solutions based in our local lab. We have enabled students to use ubiquitous technologies to accomplish what we previously were only able to do in the lab. We also simplified the student's workflow, reducing the time required by students to complete the same tasks. GoReact reduced the time by half for some tasks. ### 9. K-12 and Higher Education should purchase a GoReact account and encourage teachers to create online visual materials to support free and accessible feedback for all students through LMS integration!! **What do you dislike about Echo360?** I can't record media instructions in an integrated LMS assignment but must record directly on GoReact website then can add the media. However, the LMS integration of GoReact is awesome!! **What problems is Echo360 solving and how is that benefiting you?** Timestamped feedback gives everyone an interactive experience when responding to video prompts. One huge benefit that GoReact has over free apps like FlipGrid and Panopto is that students can respond to video prompts privately instead of only in group discussions. ### 11. I guess one thing might be that students can record "in" the program but if it is a long video there is a chance that it will not always upload and they lose their video. That did happen sometimes, but guessing it was the internet and not the GoReact program. **What problems is Echo360 solving and how is that benefiting you?** I like the ease of the students being able to have tests, assignments and various other outlets in one program. I also like that it can be integrated into my lms to make grading easier. ### 14. I can assign peers or have them self-select within the class, and have all open sections randomly select from one large pool of peer videos to do peer reviews. **What do you dislike about Echo360?** Occasional tech glitches where students would film and videos would not be visible on the instructor end for several days. Students who recorded last-minute had '0' grades entered, and one nearly missed a state exit exam and had to be sent on trust that their assignment would pop up eventually. Still, they had to go for assessment without the valuable feedback from that recorded session. **Recommendations to others considering Echo360:** Be sure your assignment instructions specify that videos can have difficulty recording or uploading and to allow extra time to film, NOT to film at the last hour before deadlines. **What problems is Echo360 solving and how is that benefiting you?** The main problem is delays in video uploading and occasional issues with sound quality. The benefits of group participation and peer-to-peer practice still outweigh the small issues. ### 15. During the 2019-2020 school year, Go React greatly reduced this fee. **What problems is Echo360 solving and how is that benefiting you?** Teacher candidates in remote locations can receive frequent and timely feedback on the lessons they teach from their supervising professor, because he receives the notification of video footage to review and evaluate. Ongoing problems exist when teacher candidates choose not to view the evaluated lessons and consider the feedback submitted because they are focused on the current and future lessons they are teaching. ### 17. Also, there has been times that I have wanted to assign different materials to different groups for the same assignment; however, that is not an option - at least to do so and not have all of the assignments available to everyone. **What problems is Echo360 solving and how is that benefiting you?** We have used the video recorder in our LMS (Canvas Studio); however, the only timestamped feedback option was text. Since our classes involve signed language, text isn't always enough. GoReact has allowed us to give students visual feedback on specific areas of their work (rather than just a single video summary at the end). This has allowed students to better understand where and how to integrate the feedback. ### 18. Even if you run into a snag, the support team is tremendously helpful and provides almost immediate feedback to keep you moving! This same support is extended to teacher candidates. GoReact continues to be one of the best (if not the best) tools I use in my teacher education courses. I have been using it for the past two years, and do not remember how I survived providing appropriate and timely feedback to my students prior! While GoReact has supported my continued efforts to better prepare my students for Task 2 in edTPA, I have found it to be THE BEST tool for teacher candidates to think and reflect critically. **What do you dislike about Echo360?** I am hardpressed to find a negative, but I guess the cost is somewhat of a barrier. It is relatively cheap, given its capabilities, but money is a factor that has to be considered. **What problems is Echo360 solving and how is that benefiting you?** Instead of providing written feedback post classroom visits, I can now give immediate and timestamped feedback. And not only can I provide feedback, but my teacher candidates are also responding to the input and inquiring about how they make changes to improve their teaching. ### 19. This provides a great platform for providing feedback based on what I am observing via video recording. I use this to provide future teachers feedback on their lessons. I can also copy and save my comments to include in my records. **What do you dislike about Echo360?** I would prefer a feature that downloads my comments into an attractive view of them. Presently, I can copy them and paste them into my own Word document. This is great that I can copy them but the results require editing and reformating. **What problems is Echo360 solving and how is that benefiting you?** Due to Covid, classroom visits are not always welcome in the schools. Therefore, my students (student teachers) can video themselves via GoReact. Then, I can provide feedback using this web-based tool. I am able to set up what I need very quickly and efficiently. I have been able to build my own rubrics and then go back in and make quick edits easily and quickly. **What do you dislike about Echo360?** Up until recently, it was frustrating to leave comments on student submissions and not have the students notified. Unless we sent them notice via other platforms, they were unlikely to actually see the feedback left on their performance. **What problems is Echo360 solving and how is that benefiting you?** Our team is very small, so GoReact has been the best solution for us to be able to complete all of the required skills pass-offs for our students in the most efficient way. ### 21. Since this was a secondary product or benefit within my business I know my customers grow weary of one more thing that requires login. However, with GoReact the value is there. From the moment the get into the platform they see immediate benefits and easy-to-navigate options. As an instructor I also like the interface for creating markers, using text or audio feedback and providing instructions. Lastly, the mobile version was great. Without downloading another app my clients could login from a mobile browser and still enjoy easy video uploads and watching. Remember, not all students have the same access to personal computers. **What do you dislike about Echo360?** The cost has made it difficult to scale. I want a pricing option for limited features that would allow me to trial (limited time free use) the product so that I can give them hands on experience before they buy. Unfortunately, this would require video demos only while the price per student is so high. Remember though, high is in comparison to far inferior competitors so I will still pay it just need to price my customers accordingly. **Recommendations to others considering Echo360:** WeVu was more willing to add features for your specific needs. Consider if your needs work like a big college (their primary market) or if you have needs that are different. This might not change your final decision but worth consideration since their product roadmap is going to focus on higher education needs. Administration and organization of a large program within this platform is likely to be 15% to 50% of a full time role. **What problems is Echo360 solving and how is that benefiting you?** I provide students job interview experience through the app. Building a community of student provided feedback in addition to coach feedback. Not a college. ### 22. Once I started using the software I realize that I could also leave recorded feedback (an incredible time saver) and also be integrated into the university's grading system. **What do you dislike about Echo360?** When I first started using the software, I was a bit confused about how the grades would interface with the university's gradebook. I was able to figure it out, but some clarification on where and how are the grades need to be inputted would be helpful. **Recommendations to others considering Echo360:** Using GoReact was a no-brainer for me. It had all the functionality I needed for a university based video production class. **What problems is Echo360 solving and how is that benefiting you?** For me, it is incredibly useful to have all of GoReact's features available in the same place: upload, timecode based comments, the ability for students to comment on each other's work, and grading and evaluation for the instructor. ### 23. This is a great concept. **What do you dislike about Echo360?** After all these years, I'm sad to see what GoReact has become. I use it embedded in Canvas, and it's pretty unusable with rubrics. My students can't see the rubrics in advance and the window is so small, I can barely see it myself. **Recommendations to others considering Echo360:** GoReact is really an older form of Loom. If you want to respond to someone's video in real time, I recommend you check out Loom instead. I use it with my students way more often than I do GoReact. If you want to add a rubric, GoReact is the better choice for now. **What problems is Echo360 solving and how is that benefiting you?** The only problem GoReact is really solving at this point, is it puts all the videos in one place and I don't have to download them. I love not having to download each student's video onto my computer. But then other Cloud platforms will solve that problem too. ### 24. I also like that it is very customizable and that you can set assignments to be viewed peer to peer (students) or private for the instructor to view only. There are a lot of other features as well but it is really great because it allows us to provide observation access to students who live in very remote communities. **What do you dislike about Echo360?** Sometimes it can be difficult when students want to use bluetooth mics or things like that which they donʻt often know how to trouble shoot. Although we spend a great deal of time practicing and walking the students through this platform, there have been instances where things would come up in the moment that we did not know how to solve or we had to address after the observation and use a different video tool. But with any online tool, it is always good to have a backup in general. **What problems is Echo360 solving and how is that benefiting you?** The benefits are as mentioned before, the accessibility. Especially with the pandemic, we have not been able to view students in person like we have traditionally done. This platform allows us to still observe critically but safely from afar. ### 25. It was straightforward to know what I was assigned, and the organization was helpful. The best part was how videos integrate so well into the content. **What do you dislike about Echo360?** The biggest problem that I have had was when I was uploading my final project, there was some issue with the software, and it would not upload. I had to keep it open on my computer for around 2 hours, which was stressful during finals. I think this was an isolated incident, though, due to some issues with the technology that day. **Recommendations to others considering Echo360:** GoReact is an excellent software for learning, definitely recommended for an academic class. **What problems is Echo360 solving and how is that benefiting you?** I used GoReact for my American Sign Language Class. Videos and images are so important when learning ASL, and it also has to be integrated with written language. GoReact provided a great platform to do so. ### 26. This is my favorite and most valuable teaching tool for working with student teachers and for instructional coaching. I do wish the license did not have to be renewed each year and contracts could be done in multiple-year incriments. **What problems is Echo360 solving and how is that benefiting you?** Time-stamped feedback for novice teachers, in the moment instructional coaching. I have access to videos and can grade recorded submissions as needed. In live observations I can actually give timestamped feedback easily! ### 28. Then as I'm adding my own comments I can choose to pause the video while I'm typing or let it keep running. **What do you dislike about Echo360?** You need to be careful when uploading videos that they are captured in the smallest size video file. Even then, it could take awhile to upload. But stick with it! Eventually the file uploads. **Recommendations to others considering Echo360:** Give videos time to load. **What problems is Echo360 solving and how is that benefiting you?** During school closures and rises in sickness on campus, I've been able to use GoReact to still be able to observe my student teachers. Using GoReact has eliminated some paperwork for me too. I no longer need to take anecdotal notes when observing. I'm free to focus on encouragement and suggestions without feeling burned out on typing everything that has happened. ### 29. What I like most about GoReact is how easy it is to create courses and review the videos. In our teaching preparation program, we use it every semester to give feedback to our teacher candidates. We can pause, rewind, slow things down and make the comments during the video pause. This is an essential feature of the interface as comments are time-coded. That way, students can reflect and comment on the specific feedback. I’ve used other programs, and they were not as friendly and efficient as GoReact. **What do you dislike about Echo360?** Adding rubrics should be more accessible. It is confusing how to copy categories in the rubric part. **What problems is Echo360 solving and how is that benefiting you?** The supervisors can do remote supervision using GoReact. At times particular components failed, such as the microphone, video, and downloads. The way it allows to find files, volume, speed option and picture in picture options. If you want to listen at slow speed you can just reduce the speed of the video. The forward and backward are somewhat not accurate. Video analysis helps developing teachers to choose a particular strategy or learning theory and then focus their attention on it. For instance, if a world language teacher knows that they want to be speaking the target language for 90% of certain lessons, actually watching back the video and tallying every 20 seconds gives the intern more accurate data than simply a "feel" for the percentage. If trust is built, video allows for collaboration with teams as well, so that teachers can visit each others classrooms on their own time and see how others might be implementing something (a Socratic seminar, math talk moves, a particular entry task activity, etc.) **What do you dislike about Echo360?** Video is a sensitive medium no matter what platform you are using. Thus, proper permissions and training of privacy can make it complicated. However, GoReact does provide a secure place to store these videos. **What problems is Echo360 solving and how is that benefiting you?** GoReact and video analysis of the classroom is allowing us a lot more flexibility for observations of teacher interns. We are able to observe teacher interns in geographically far places, which saves mileage and scheduling also becomes simpler. It also helps to have the intern watch themselves and focus on a particular area of their teaching so that they can point to actual evidence, and time stamp the video, rather than relying solely on memory. Peer review allows teachers from different schools to share their lessons and strategies with one another and get feedback from job alike peers. ### 46.
