What do you like best about DbVisualizer?

The best thing is that DbVisualizer is available for a wide variety of databases, especially the main ones in the market, which are Oracle, PostgreSQL and Microsoft SQL Server. It also runs on the most used operating systems that are Windows, MacOS and Linux. In addition, it has a free version that has excellent utilities. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DbVisualizer?

I think the interface is not very modern, so that non-advanced users can be difficult to learn how to use it. On the other hand, the licensing of the full version is very expensive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering DbVisualizer:

What problems is DbVisualizer solving and how is that benefiting you?

What do you like best about DbVisualizer?

DbVisualizer supports drivers for almost all major database systems, allowing you to connect to everything you need in one application. It supports advanced features like SSH tunneling, private keys, and basic scripting. It allows you to export data in a wide variety of formats as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DbVisualizer?

A few of the default drivers have bugs. For example, the MariaDB driver often runs queries very slowly. Switching to the MySQL driver for the same connection works, but we only found this through trial and error. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering DbVisualizer:

If you are going to deploy DbVisualizer across a large organization, consider creating a standard configuration profile and exporting it for broader use. Individual users would then just have to add their credentials without needing to configure each database connection individually.

Also, consider locking down database access to a specific server, and then requiring users to connect via SSH tunneling. This adds an additional layer of security that's easy to manage within the application. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Does the job but not enjoyable to use"

What do you like best about DbVisualizer?

You can connect to multiple databases and easily move between querying any of them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DbVisualizer?

It's really hard to do basic text editing in the software. For example, double clicking a word usually in most software would highlight it, so that you can easily copy, paste, delete etc. In DBVis when you double click you end up with half of the word highlighted, so you end up making mistakes. It sounds like a small thing but it's something I want to do so frequently that it really impacts my work. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about DbVisualizer?

DbVisualizer has good tools for object management and search. It works with the most used databases that are MySQL and PostgreSQL, and also has a profile for each type. I also like that it allows me to configure any JDBC option. In addition, it has a toolbar that allows me to save all the shortcuts to the databases I use frequently. What do you dislike about DbVisualizer?

The graphics of references are deficient, because although a graphic can be generated based on the references between the tables, the representation is confusing and can not be exported. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

DBVisualizer is a stable and complete program. It allows you to manage several databases at once, regardless of whether it is MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQLite or others. What problems is DbVisualizer solving and how is that benefiting you?

I have used DbVisualizer to manage MySQL databases that have an inventory of the organization's IP and MAC addresses to perform queries almost every day. What do you like best about DbVisualizer?

DBvis is great as a first-time tool for accessing data.

You can easily:

1) See the layout of a given Database, and query it

2) Setup multiple DBs using different SQL dialects

What do you dislike about DbVisualizer?

DBvis lacks more advanced functionality. Things like

1) Searching a project for files/references

DBvis is great for users to get started with, and in particular good for a user to learn about your DB's data structure. What do you like best about DbVisualizer?

Simple GUI to create query tab, execute and manage results and history. There are multiple options to fetch the resulting data and also creating instant DML statements from result dataset Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Good Database Client"

What do you like best about DbVisualizer?

Can connect to any database like Oracle, DB2 easily. Personally I have connected to Oracle and DB2 . Can easily copy and paste object names which most of the database clients do not provide. This is supported by Windows, Linux and Mac OS. I have used in Linux and Windows. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DbVisualizer?

As a database client I don't see any disadvantages of this software. In the free version we face some basic limitations like - cannot run multiple SQL statement at a time, cannot execute SQL script etc. Licensing cost for the priced version is bit higher. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

If you are looking for a one stop shop database client for all database types, go ahead and get DBVisualizer, it is probably the best database client to meet all your need. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is DbVisualizer solving and how is that benefiting you?

I have used this for connecting my IBM BPM product databases (DB2) for executing Day to day database queries. Easy interface for the beginners as well, does not need much knowledge to use this software.
