**What problems is Assembly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Assembly is giving us one centralized system to manage our entire client lifecycle, from lead capture to onboarding to ongoing service delivery. Before Assembly, information was spread across messages, email, HoneyBook, and spreadsheets, which created delays, missed follow-ups, and inefficiencies.

Now, Assembly allows our team to:

• Capture and organize leads in one place
• Assign ownership and tasks to the correct team member (Diedra, Echia, or myself)
• Track every client’s stage in the pipeline, from inquiry to paid client
• Automate follow-ups, reminders, and onboarding workflows
• Maintain clear visibility into revenue, services sold, and client progress

**What do you like best about Assembly?**

I really like how easy Assembly is to customize and configure for my small business as a solopreneur. The platform is very configurable, and they're always doing updates and accepting new kinds of app builds that you can put into your Assembly portal. I appreciate their plans and the flexibility of functionality across their plans, which allows you to still get a great deal of functionality and support on the free plan versus more of their paid tiers. My clients have also told me that using Assembly has been really, really easy for them as well. Plus, I love the API functionality they provide on their paid tiers, which allows me to hook up advanced tech into Assembly. The initial setup was super easy, and I was able to do it in less than fifteen minutes.

**What do you dislike about Assembly?**

I wish Assembly had a little bit more integrations with accounting tools like 1-800 Accountant. That would be a little bit more helpful for someone who's just starting out.

**What problems is Assembly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Assembly helps me manage CRM, invoicing, and task management all in one place. I appreciate messaging clients in one portal and sending secure invoices and accepting payments there too.

Some functions not available for our needs so workarounds were required. Ideally would like more flexibility with the apps.

Client communication and follow up activity. Keeping client's informed with the status of their accounts.

**What do you like best about Assembly?**

I really like the ease of setting up Assembly. It was very straightforward, and I had everything set up in one day, which was amazing compared to another product we looked at that was hard to set up and understand. Assembly was extremely easy to understand, and there was no large learning curve. I also appreciate how it helps streamline the onboarding process for our clients, allowing them to get everything they need, like files, forms, and agreements, all in one place. They can even chat there, making it very useful.

**What do you dislike about Assembly?**

I would love if there were conditional forms in Assembly. Right now, you have to create a question for each possible situation, which can be cumbersome. I'd also love if the workflow was conditional, like if a certain agreement was sent in order because a specific service was selected.

**What problems is Assembly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Assembly to streamline client onboarding, centralizing files, forms, and agreements, making everything accessible and easy for new clients. It also enables communication through chat.

I really like how clean and simple the platform is, which makes it easy to use. I also appreciate the numerous integrations offered, which expand its usability with tools like Stripe, Airtable, and HubSpot. Another big plus is the ability to white-label the platform as my agency or for my clients, elevating the client experience by keeping all pertinent information in one place. The setup was super easy, making the transition smooth and hassle-free.

I would like more separation for embeds. I use Airtable as a CRM and wish it was a little more segregated between clients.

**What do you like best about Assembly?**

What I appreciate most about Assembly is how streamlined the entire experience feels. It's also incredibly easy to pick up and start using with your teams, making the implementation process smooth and straightforward.

**What do you dislike about Assembly?**

One of the main drawbacks of Assembly, in my opinion, is that the platform is still relatively new. Because of this, it currently lacks some features that I expect will be introduced in the future. These missing elements make the experience less helpful for me at the moment.

Assembly has enabled our team to transition from managing multiple spreadsheets for data tracking to having a single, centralized platform that meets all our client needs.

It's so simple to use! I love the ability to chat with the clients and have a central place for all client tasks, contracts, forms, files, and invoices. Makes things so much easier when sending a link to them.

**What do you dislike about Assembly?**

The price is a little high for what it is... Features I'd like to have that would make it more valuable to me:

- Ability to edit contracts in the software so I don't have to re-upload a new one every time I notice a mistake
- Ability to send a contract and payment in ONE link then it creates or updates a client in the CRM, so I can make things easy to onboard new clients.

**What problems is Assembly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A central hub that doesn't require "jummy-rigging" like we have to do in Notion. Everything is in one spot.

**What do you like best about Assembly?**

I like Assembly's simplicity compared to other platforms. It's definitely very good, and I found it easier to navigate. The initial setup was really easy, and it's a beautiful setup platform. It's the simplest platform I've used, which is great for new businesses. It's also the cheapest platform and very easy to use.

**What do you dislike about Assembly?**

I'd say probably adding a little more user interface interaction, a couple more features. Maybe a bit more customization when it comes to forms. The messaging section can definitely be improved. I would say that's the weakest point.

**What problems is Assembly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Assembly simplifies client onboarding by eliminating the need to email clients for documentation, storing all communication and contracts securely, and using prebuilt forms that streamline the entire process for our accounting firm.

I love the ease of which my clients can see and navigate all essential documents for our project. As a website and graphic designer, we are constantly working on projects for existing and new clients. Each project comes with needs for contracts, signatures, approvals, and more. With copilot, our clients can see all of their tasks in one place- with deadlines! Plus, it makes it so much more convenient to go back and find important information with it all being right there.

**What do you dislike about Assembly?**

I wish that Copilot's forms and contracts features were a little more intuitive. Instead of having to upload a document, or start from scratch each time, it would be great if they were a little quicker to use.

**What problems is Assembly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Managing all aspects of indivisible client projects in one place, allowing for efficient and easy project completion. Reduces the overwhelm that our clients may face at the onboarding process.

None. The initial wow and ease of use of the platform does not support deeper customization. 

**What do you dislike about Assembly?**

There is very limited customization that is available in the platform. There is no public roadmap of features and support is limited (late replies and when they do reply only confirm that features are not available). 

**What problems is Assembly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Copilot is helping us onboard new clients through an onboarding process that requires the collection of many disperate pieces of information. It also allows us to process invoices for the client and capture signatures on key documents.

**What do you like best about Assembly?**

Before Copilot, we were utilizing so many different platforms with our clients. Copilot has brought all communication into one centralized hub where we can share files, forms, links, and contracts, without having to bog the client down with additional platforms. This platform has been a lifesaver for our client success team! 

It was also so easy to set up and integrate into our day-to-day. The customer support was there to help us with implementation each step of the way. 

I can't wait for us to keep growing with Copilot!

I would love to see more feature rollouts, especially an iOS or Android app! Our clients have mentioned how they are on the go a lot, so they would love to be able to easily access their copilot hub without having to utilize their browser.

Having one centralized hub for all of the items that our clients need to access.

It's perfect for organizing my clients data, contract signing and creating easy-to-use recurring payments for clients. My client's are enjoying having one go-to place to message me, organize files and review their payment details. We also LOVE how simple it is to implement and integrate with each new client. We use it for every single client - it's part of our standard onboarding practice at this point.

**What do you dislike about Assembly?**

I wish there was an app for both me and my clients to make it that much more convenient to use - especially for things like messaging and receipt/file uploads.

I have been using Copilot for 3 years primarily for managing my own client portal and my clients' portals. I appreciate the ease of use, which greatly enhances my user experience right from the setup process, which was straightforward. The support team is outstanding, as they responded to my queries quickly, providing a smooth onboarding experience. I value the HIPAA compliance feature, ensuring high standards of data protection, which is crucial for handling sensitive information. The file storage is slick, and the internal messaging feature is incredibly useful, allowing me to keep everything together without needing to resort to email communications constantly. I find the integration with external services like Make beneficial for my workflow, which offsets the limited task automation capabilities. Furthermore, I utilize integrations with services like Zapier and Google Slides, making Copilot a versatile tool in my software suite. Overall, the combination of ease of use, excellent support, compliance, and efficient communication and storage features make Copilot a preferred choice, culminating in me recommending it highly, scoring a 10 on a likelihood scale.

The task automations in Copilot are limited. I wish there were more internal integrations available.

I love the features in assembly. I love the simplicity for my clients and the options available even on the lowest paid tier.

**What do you dislike about Assembly?**

I have a few things I wish were features but they are small items. One of them being automated tasks, a  forward and backwards arrow when I am in files in a folder instead of going out and back in again and an audit log of when magic links are sent for each person.

**What problems is Assembly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Assembly is keeping all my clients and I organized, it is an all in one place for my clients to communicate with me and have documents e-signed which is a must for me.

I like what clients love about Assembly. Clients always compliment how professional I look. I also find the integrations with Google Sheets and Looker Studio very useful because they allow me to provide custom reporting to clients outside of QuickBooks.

**What do you dislike about Assembly?**

The time tracking and tasks are a little basic for my needs, but they have other integrations that may work that I haven't used yet.

I use Assembly for client portals, file handling, and integrating external data sources for custom reporting, which is incredibly helpful.

I like the ability to integrate third-party applications in Assembly. It allows us to create customized forms and workflows, leveraging the data from Assembly.

The forms and workflows within Assembly are limited. They're relatively new and workflows only work with a limited number of apps. There was a bit of a learning curve, especially with setting up custom domains.

Assembly lets us build custom apps, integrating 3rd party apps to create customized forms and workflows.

**What do you like best about Assembly?**

Copilot makes the customer buying experience seamless. No more manual email back-and-forths — we save so much time, and every file is automatically organized by client. It’s been excellent.

**What do you dislike about Assembly?**

I think not being able to add another user for a flat fee is tough. The basic plan should really allow at least 2 users — jumping from 1 to 3 for an extra $150 per month feels like too big of a leap. Also, more app integrations are definitely needed. Right now, most of them are very similar in functionality. It would be great to see options like order tracking apps, quoting apps, and other tools that expand the platform’s capabilities.

**What problems is Assembly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Copilot is mainly smoothing out the messy parts of your customer workflow. Instead of juggling long email threads, hunting for files, or losing track of revisions, everything for a client lives in one place automatically. That means:

Time saved: no more back-and-forths trying to confirm which file is “final” or re-sending the same info multiple times.

Clarity: every client has their own organized hub, so nothing gets misplaced.

Consistency: processes run the same way across clients, which makes it easier to scale without chaos.

I have used Assembly for a few years now. For me, it Centralizes documents and information which apeases my OCD. This also helps communication with my customers.. There things I would like adjusted, but Assembly is always doing just that. They continue to adapt to the current environment.

**What do you dislike about Assembly?**

I would like the task list to be customizable. I would also like to edit documents within the system, without having to download then re upload.

Centralized documents and info. It brings organization.

The document set-up is a little clunky compared to something like PandaDoc. It would be nice if tokens synced with a CRM so we could create document and customer data would pull in.

No need for separate CRM and document tool. Pricing is comparable and enjoyable. Processing fees are also reduced for ACH payments.

I like the simplicity of the platform. I am a solopreneur bookkeeper and I love tool that can help improve my process and the CX. But, I don't love spending hours learning new about how to use new platforms. Copilot was easy to set-up and onboard my first client in half a day.

**What do you dislike about Assembly?**

There are only a few customization option to make the space feel like your brand. They are adequate for sure, but room for improvement is definitely there. With that, I had to download an integration for to make a home screen for my clients portal. This seemed odd to me and the option itself was also basic. i would like to see more built-in functionality instead of everything being an integration.

Getting stripe and the basic functionality for my needs ready to go in the a matter of a few hours was great. The main problem that copilot solves is improving the user experience for my clients. providing them a one-stop-shop to interact with my business and manage payments and files.

I use Copilot as my client portal, and it’s been a game-changer for how I manage communication and document sharing with clients. The standout feature for me is how smoothly it handles file uploads and downloads—whether it’s sharing reports, receiving documents, or organizing files, everything is quick and seamless.

From a client’s perspective, the layout is clean and super easy to navigate. Whether they're messaging me, accessing files, or reviewing contracts, everything is intuitive and well-organized. It’s made the entire collaboration process more efficient and professional for both sides.

**What do you dislike about Assembly?**

Currently, I can’t assign tasks to multiple clients at once, which can be time-consuming when I need to send the same task to several people. Also, I’m not able to add a user with the same email address to multiple businesses, which is limiting if a client is involved in more than one entity. Lastly, the contract customization options are a bit limited, making it harder to create professional-looking documents quickly.

Copilot is helping me solve the problem of securely sharing files and communicating with clients in one centralized place. Before, I had to juggle multiple platforms for messaging, document sharing, and contracts—but now it's all streamlined. It's especially beneficial for managing sensitive documents, as the upload/download process is smooth and reliable.

I love the look. It's just visually great to work with. I also like they way you can connect outside apps to get more done with it.

They've recently added many new features and the options for use are growing dramatically.

It's limited. Sometimes I feel like I'm trying to bend features without breaking them to get it to do what I need. But the outside apps plugging in help to make it all possible. They are adding new features all the time too.

Getting all my clients in one place. My clients email and slack and store files in google and dropbox and it's a mess. This has allowed them to come to one place for everything. They find it easier and we can accomplish more for them. We are now using their Tasks app to manage project planning and tracking. We also use it for subscription based billing.

**What do you like best about Assembly?**

My small accounting practice was growing, and I needed a solution to manage new client onboarding, and general secure file sharing, communication, and billing. I wanted to build out my client portal myself, and I needed to do it fast. I also wanted my client's experience to be easy.

I had explored several other softwares I've heard about through my network, and they were SO time consuming for me to set up, mostly because they are so customizable, in addition to having countless zapier integrations and stuff I didn't care about. Then, I found Copilot in the Google search results. 

From the beginning, the setup was so easy and intuitive, without compromising on the quality of the experience AND is still customizable where it matters. It's so user friendly, and my clients have loved it for this reason. I also really appreciate how sleek and modern it is. I was able to build out my client portal over a weekend. Its also really cool that you can create a test client and practice everything before sending to a real client.

Customer support is quick to respond. I use this software every day with my clients, as the messaging feature allows us to minimize email clutter. My favorite app is the Tasks app, which is a very simple and effective project management-ish app.

**What do you dislike about Assembly?**

There are a few features I've suggested to support, who have been very receptive to the feedback:

- Integration limitations: (a) Doesn't yet integrate with Xero, my accounting software. (b) All integrations with popular apps (Notion, etc) are only for client facing purposes, not internally facing. 
- Project Management: Tasks app has a ton of potential for internally-facing project management, but for right now, gets the job done fine since I'm a solo-firm owner. I'd love to see more features here for categorizing tasks and bulk actions! 
- Forms: Would be fantastic to see more options here for different questions prompted based on responses to one-answer questions.

Simplicity and ease of use, both for the company and for the customers. I've had no issues getting people logging in and uploading files/signing contracts (which was what I was most concerned about). The ease of implementation took days, and the customer support is absolutely fantastic.

**What do you dislike about Assembly?**

\The overall lack of external apps for now does potentially hurt it (although the API seems to be quite good and they're looking to support developers). Along with that, depending on how much customisation you need it may not be the best for you. Although, considering the simplicity and ease of integration, why not give it a go?

**What problems is Assembly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Particularly, it's helping solve the absolute pain of "send X files over". They're organised, have a high file limit, and don't mean I need to send an upload link to something like mediafire or drive via email. It looks so much more professional and I love it.

There are very few things to dislike, if anything I wish there was more automation available with sending messages. For example, if I could schedule a message to be sent to a client on a certain at a specific time, that would shave alot of time off the onboarding process. Last thing is I wish I could customize a bit more the notification emails that go to the client so that it sounds more like our company voice. Those are little things though that we have found workarounds within the third-party softwares we use.

Co-Pilots helps me solve the problem of organizing cluttered communication systems within executive corporate teams. It has helped me offer a solution that feels like a sense of relief to my clients.

We can only send messages to our clients and not internally to our team. This requires us to maintain multiple workflow tools, which can be a little annoying.

I really enjoy the setup speed of Copilot, you can build a comprehensive client portal very quickly without needing any form of development background.

You can get a product out very quickly that clients will love and see value in, then continue to build upon it as you will find that clients give you ideas "it would be good if you could add X for us"

The support team on Slack are very proactive and reactive, always willing to help even with features that sit outside of Copilot, like using Zapier to automate something in Copilot

**What do you dislike about Assembly?**

There a few minor things that I would like but it relates to the management of "client apps" to allow foldering.

There are a few features with the wiki/help desk text editor which could do with enhancement to allow for improved content e.g. being able tom centre align images, being able to set the height of iframes

Copilot are very receptive to feedback though and I've had calls with their design team explaining my feature requests

Allowing us to align all our client documents and consolidate our knowledge base, reduces time spent recreating documents when they are centralised and ready for all client bases.

I love how many apps you can integrate into the portal, along with its clean and user-friendly design. During a trial run, I tested three platforms simultaneously to find the best client portal for both my clients and myself. My priorities were ease of use on the client side, simplicity on the backend for building and providing mockups, and the ability to add accessible order forms.

Copilot stood out as the best option. It offered the most features and integrations while maintaining a clean, intuitive interface—unlike the more overwhelming alternatives. We seamlessly integrated our existing order form through Jotform, making it easily accessible within the client portal. While we’re still getting familiar with the platform, I’m confident that Copilot will be the easiest to train my team on and the best fit for our needs.

**What do you dislike about Assembly?**

At this point, I don’t have many dislikes about Copilot—just a few suggestions that could help my team. A fully customizable order form that can be built directly into the portal would be a great addition, as well as continuing to expand the available integrations.

One idea is an app specifically for team members (not clients), but I don’t think that’s a critical need right now and could potentially introduce bugs or complications. For now, bookmarking Copilot on my home screen has worked seamlessly and been easy to use.

Managing clients, mockups, and feedback—along with client-requested design changes—can be overwhelming, especially with the volume of files, contracts, and orders we exchange via email. This method has become unsustainable for us.

Copilot has been a game-changer, allowing us to manage everything in one centralized platform. While we’re still new to it and have only tested it with a few clients so far, it has already proven to be a lifesaver. It’s easy to use for both myself and our clients, and I’m optimistic it will be just as effective for my team in the near future.

My favorite thing about Copilot is the ability to have a client portal where I can manage a large number of clients easily and be able to "text" them through the platform, instead of having to email them. I also had trouble finding a client portal with a clean design so Copilot stood out to me.

The only downside of Copilot is it's a newer platform so there's a few features I'd like to see added to the platform but the support team has been super great about asking for new feature recommendations. It's great to have a support team that asks for user feedback so they can make the platform even better!

I like that I can choose which apps to have available to my client and can create custom pages based on my needs.  The client facing side feels personal to my business - I don't have to tell someone to ignore a section because it doesn't apply, I can just eliminate it and include what I want.

I wish the tasks section was a bit more interactive so that I could use it more like a client request type system to request documents and so forth.  I'm hoping this will be expanded in the future, but I'm managing with the workarounds by combining tasks with forms for now.

I wish there was more of an ability to customize the actual portal notification settings. Clients recieve an email 5 minutes after you change something in their portal. I would love to simply have an updated button that sent them a bulk change I made in their portal. Also the ability to have them download an app would be incredible helpful.

I haven't seen any major downsides regarding the intended us of the platform. There are a few features I wish existed, but they may be unique to our use case...like being able to set custom fields in the task app and more out of the box automations like creating tasks when a new user is added.

We need a simple and easy to manage way to manager our tech-enabled services customer experience while iterating quickly on feedback and making changes in real time. Copilot allows us to do that without long development cycles required in our old product.

**What do you like best about Assembly?**

- Customization/Whitelabeling options, i particualrly love the ability to easilt connect, share and alter custom domians that make my buisness sound out
- Ability to integrated apps of almost anytype and embed interanlly or externally really contributes to 
- The integration of all in-house apps that allow for an fairly staright forward and east-to-understand workflow
- Customer Support is fantastic and responsive, very helpful and kind (shout-out Veronique)

**What do you dislike about Assembly?**

- Customization on the admin side of a portal is limited and apps with similar names can conflict
- In-House app selection from Copilot are fairly rigid in their feature selection, limiting the amount of usefulness that can be derived from each app
- I think the CRM side of the platform is fairly limited and with some input from the community, could expand its offering to allow for some more personalization and segmentation business of all kinds could take advantage of

**What problems is Assembly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a marketing agency, I love the idea of using Copilot as a platform that allows my business to fairly seemlessly integrate all the marketing tools and resoruces a client uses all in one place, and the Copilot product accomplishes that and so much more.

**What do you like best about Assembly?**

I like how tailorable copilot is and how many excellent tutorials they have to explain things! Beyond the tutorials, the slack they have set up is an amazing way to get more answers and connect with more poeple to get ideas. I love how they are building a community with it! Additionally, any time I have reached out for help, they have been incredibly responsive and helpful! I feel that my needs come first, which I really appreciate.

**What do you dislike about Assembly?**

Although it is very tailorable, there are some limitations. One big one for me is the limited ability to integrate a number of different notion pages without paying for another third party. I also would like more tailorability on the homepage for assinging tasks to clients.

**What problems is Assembly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keeping all the information for my clients in one place, making communication with them about the project easier, and being able to assign tasks to my clients so that they are aware of what needs to be done!

**What do you like best about Assembly?**

Copilot allows me to quickly and efficiently communicate and share data, info, and updates with my clients. Instead of sending my clients to a variety of apps to get their information, they are able to access anything they need within a single portal. My business runs faster and more efficiently than it did before.

**What do you dislike about Assembly?**

The pricing tiers were confusing for me initially. I thought my business would be able to work on the lowest tier, even after adding some basic apps. But even the basic apps require businesses to use the mid-tier which includes a lot of features I don't need. Maybe the basic tier could include 2-3 additional apps because the price differential between the entry level and the mid-tier is fairly substantial for a small organization.

**What problems is Assembly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I need to communicate effectively with multiple clients, providing them access to a wide variety of information and updates. Copilot provides a single portal for my clients and it immediately adds value to my clients' experience.

Copilot is very secure, easy to use and set up. The UI for clients and internal is great and we have been able to automate many tasks using Make,com. Support is very respoinsive and helpful.

**What do you dislike about Assembly?**

Limited apps for now, but they are adding more and more.

Sharing forms with client and receive infomation. Flow of information when documents are shared or received. Secure cloud storage client portal with sensitive information.
