It's the best program I've used. Over the years, I've tried a couple of alternatives, but Cision really is the standard tool.

I'm getting used to using the new version now, but so far I have gotten quality results from media searches.

It's making researching journalists who are talking about a specific topic in the news easier to do.

It is missing a lot of contacts that I need and there are a lot of bugs.

Customer support is always quick to add contacts as needed. However, it does take them a considerable amount of time to address concerns related to platform issues, like bugs.

Building a press list can be challenging at times, especially when you need to do it quickly. Additionally, the page for creating press releases lacks some important formatting options, such as the ability to adjust line spacing or choose different fonts.

**What do you dislike about CisionOne?**

accuracy of contacts and search parameters. Also, way too many "info@"  emails. There should be none. These are not contacts. They're waste bins and waste of time. Companies should not be allowed to utilize any "Info@" or similar emails for contact information.

Not solving any problems except access.

The "sectors" makes it easy to find journalists in that category.

**What do you dislike about CisionOne?**

1)  You have to download photos to insert them in your release

2) There is no drop-down menu with DMA listing

3) The number of journalists is very small. For example, if you search "Family & Parenting" in the USA you may only get 32 contacts

4) After sending a pitch or release, you can't group those who didn't open the release or who did. You have to go through one by one and see if they have a check mark next to their name. Impossible for follow-ups.

**What problems is CisionOne solving and how is that benefiting you?**

1) I really like that you can search journalists by "sector" -- that is much easier to do rather than typing in key words.

CisionOne solves the problem of not being able to connect with journalists. I primarily pitch for earned media, so this is very helpful.

Takes on an incredibly heavy task, and does an admirable job at trying.

I could go on forever, I would say there is a lot of inconsistencies in the mention pick-ups especially when you want a curated mention stream.

Capturing media mentions at a large scale in a relatively efficient manner.

I don't like that you can't just search something up quickly you have to create a whole search time and set it up

It picks up the majority of coverage there are still some bits that it imisses though

You are sometimes trying to be everything to everybody, so some of your services miss the mark. Like social listening. Stick to 2-3 core services.

Clipping service and sahring company and industry news with stakeholders. Also, being able to eliminate excel spreadsheets of media database.

Links and clips expire after a week, which is a challenge. We are also unable to customize clips like we were able to in NextGen.

The dashboards are much easier to configure, and I can find the stories I am looking for so much easier. The reports and dashboard are easily shareable and I can easily show my ROI at a moment's notice. I am so grateful for the upgrades in the system on CisionOne.

**What do you dislike about CisionOne?**

Honestly, that was the one complaint I had you fix! You incorporated AI into the platform. And if you could just make sure that AI helps me write the best boolean code, then it would be a 10!

**What problems is CisionOne solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We always have to show value to senior leadership. Once we set up the google analytics G4 tracking with CisionOne, we were able to prove the click throughs we generated back to our company website. In addition, the easy pitching and tracking portion of the platform has been a game changer for us. We can show our clients exactly who was pitched and if it was opened. Instead of spray and PR approach.

The depth of content available and the variety of mediums (print, podcast, social, broadcast, etc).

Sometimes, I am not able to access the full text of international articles even using the Cision dedicated link. This is one of the main reasons we were drawn to the service.

**What problems is CisionOne solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CisionOne is helping us accurately track the volume and scale at which all of our entities are mentioned in media in a way we did not have the capacity to do before because the majority of our work was manual. This helps us see which markets we are out front in and where we have opportunities for more placements.

Compared to legacy Cision, it does provide a larger view into both traditional and digital mentions. It also has a feature to find social media mentions. 

The tool also allows you to build dashboards with multiple streams which can be set up per topic. 

I believe its publicity value is a bit skewed high but, overall, it does offer many features that are useful to track share of voice.

It’s publicity value calculations could be more accurate.

It provides a good idea of share of voice and brand awareness.

The flexibility of reporting and selecting which media outlets to monitor for specific clients and projects gives really great control over what is shared and the way reporting can be discussed with clients.

**What do you dislike about CisionOne?**

With great insight comes complex reporting set up. But with time and practice, this becomes easier and is in fact what generates the insight through reporting.

**What problems is CisionOne solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We had issues with our previous supplier and missed coverage, which made reporting to clients very tricky. The coverage in our niche sector is incredible and so much better than we have been experiencing.

The fact that all the mention streams are disconnected and do not feed into each other. For example if you delete coverage from one mention stream it doesn't auto-delete from others. This was a really nice feature in the old platform that our org has been struggling with cision one. 

The migration was a challenge and took a lot of oversight from my team.

**What problems is CisionOne solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our marketing dept is shifting to be very data-driven. We report certain PR metrics to our department's analytics team, which our leadership has access to; like total mentions, total mentions in national, health, and local outlets, respectively, and share of voice.

I like the streams. They're easy to follow and I like that they can be grouped together.

**What do you dislike about CisionOne?**

It's become less effective for pitching. There's no easy way to follow up with media without having to manually download, sort through, and reupload the media lists to follow up on pitches. It's less user friendly for public relations professions. Additionally, you cannot make changes or additions to streams that are shared with you.

I think it's now causing more problems with pitching, and  I'm struggling to see the problem it's solving in comparison to other PR pitching plaforms

**What do you like best about CisionOne?**

There are some great new features, but the benefits are lost because the user experience and visual organization is so chaotic and hard to navigate.

**What do you dislike about CisionOne?**

One of the reasons I selected Cision was the ease of the platform and the simple user experience. It was streamlined, organized, and super easy to use. CisionOne is chaotic and visually overwhelming. Even the alert emails are far more difficult to read. If it isn't broken, don't fix it and the old Cision was not broken. I have recommended Cision for years to peers but this new user experience is not anything worth recommending. I will be evaluating a new option at the end of my contract. I use Cision daily and find myself dreading using CisionOne now.

**What problems is CisionOne solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The old version was addressing all of my problems with media monitoring, social listening, and reporting. The new version is creating more problems than it is solving at the moment. I needed a more robust social listening feature like TalkWalker but instead now I can't sort through the chaos on my screen with the new version.

It has pretty charts. The concept of bringing all the functions in one place is good but the execution is terrible. Thank god for one or two knowledgeable support people that can solve a few of the problems.  Last I checked the data wasn't even accurate.

There is no way to download data for further analysis. The charts are useless the way they are delivered. It is very hard to customize in a way that makes it useful.

I like that it is a platform that does it all, love the media database that has a vast range of contacts both UK based and internationally, easy to pull medialists as well as send pitches directly through the platform. We use the platform daily and found the on-boarding sessions with our customer support member really useful

It has a lot of good information and searches are thorough. Easy to change search terms. We occasionally use the tool, mostly to monitor sentiment and trends mostly, great tool for crisis use.

Clunky interface since the update. It doesn't show information in a clear graphic anymore and it's difficult to navigate. Account rep is also not quick and thorough. I only hear from them when it's renewal season.

It helps to monitor sentiment of news, especially during PR crises.

**What do you like best about CisionOne?**

Excellent media monitoring across a number of platforms, with good grouping and organisational capabilities. The option to enable email and mobile notifications for specific streams is great. Easy to use once established, building feeds is straightforward enough, though boolean queries work best, which are a little more challenging to implement.

**What do you dislike about CisionOne?**

Sometimes misses subscription based outlets and is at times slow to refresh feeds - some outlets appear immediately at release though others are received several hours later.

Social listening offering is effective but seems to be in a much more infant stage - LinkedIn is not included which is major downside (was planned for 2024 but as yet not included). The notification badges which feature on the monitoring platform are not available, so streams have to be checked manually.

Media monitoring across huge a range of key terms and areas.

**What do you like best about CisionOne?**

I like the scheduling feature, makes weekly tasks a lot easier to set up, especially when you will be out of office. Customer service was really helpful when we switched over, making the implementation easy. Integrating over to the new system was straight forward, just a few calls and we were done.

**What do you dislike about CisionOne?**

I wish I didn't have to select all mention streams individually as if you accidentally click off it makes you select them all again. A select all feature would be handy.

Pulling all media coverage for our company, as opposed to missing some vital coverage. Makes it easier for me as I do not need to manually hunt for coverage at the end of the month.

Reporting is also a breeze and allows us to fully integrate press into our monthly roundups and has made our lives easy to implement the use of Cision into our daily workflow.

There are the odd bits of missing links within the database but, the team seem to be quick to add contacts or give you a valid reason why they aren't available.

We have used Cision for our media monitoring and outreach for several years, and have recently transitioned to CisionOne. The Cision team was great in training and assisting us in a smooth transition. The Outreach platform is great, and the Social function is new to us, so we're excited to see how everything all works together for reporting.

**What do you dislike about CisionOne?**

We noticed quickly that CisionOne is missing some of the reporting functions we liked, especially when comparing competitor data. There has also been multiple times that I have to submit a ticket to get coverage inputted manually.

**What problems is CisionOne solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Daily media monitoring helps us has a holistic picture of what is being said in the news about our company, and we can be proactive if we catch something that was inaccurate or incorrect.

Easy access to reporter's contact information and sending out an email to a large group at once.

**What do you dislike about CisionOne?**

The interface is not easy to use, and a lot of the features of the old version of Cision are either not currently available yet in CisionOne or just not user friendly, and so I've found overall that it takes much more time using CisionOne than it used to using the old interface. The UX design also needs work, as it's really different based on browser and even size of computer, which are things that can't often be altered.

Easily being able to find contact information for reporters and creating media lists to send out blast emails to.

It is easy to set up searches and gather the data that is helpful. 
Using the system every day, it updates quickly and shows what we want. 
Being able to share reports with key internal and external stakeholders is very helpful.

You have to know what you want to search for before you get started with a new search. 
With the database of journalists, the search functionality is quite clunky to use, especially if you are doing general search based on a topic, rather than knowing the specific people you want to find.

We often want to approach members of the press but don't know their details, so the CRM is ideal for finding them.

It is generally quick and intuitive to use. I also appreciate that there is support when I run into issues with it. I like the options to "test" a release before sending it out to my lists.

Sometimes media contacts are missing from the CisionOne database so I have to add them manually - this can be time consuming. Uploading media lists into CisionOne is tricky.

I need a tool to be able to send out news releases in an efficient way. CisionOne allows me to keep media lists up to date, and quickly write, review and send out news releases to large groups of people.

The search is so so poor. It is shocking to me how it has passed quality control. It is seemingly impossible to search for people by title within a publication, which should be a very basic feature. It is not easy to use and displayed very inaesthetically.

The search is very poor, compared with Gorkana which was a lot more intuitive. It also looks cheap and outdated.
