**What do you like best about CDK?**

It's easy to use, it's organized and stores data accurately without any hiccups. If needed the support staff is extremely helpful when you reach out to them.

**What do you dislike about CDK?**

Overall, CDK has been a useful platform for dealership management, but one major drawback is its data retention policy. In today's business environment, historical data is extremely valuable for analyzing long-term trends, resolving customer disputes, and meeting compliance or accounting needs. Limiting access to records older than 10 years creates unnecessary challenges for businesses that need to reference legacy information. Storage costs have decreased dramatically over the years, so it seems outdated to impose such a restriction. Customers who pay significant amounts for this software should have the option to retain their own historical data for as long as they need it. Improving data retention or offering affordable long-term archival options would greatly enhance the platform and provide much more value to long-time customers.

**What problems is CDK solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CDK helps centralize many of our dealership operations into a single system, including customer information, vehicle sales, service history, parts inventory, accounting, and reporting. Having everything integrated reduces the need to switch between multiple platforms and helps keep our departments on the same page. It improves efficiency by streamlining daily processes, reducing duplicate data entry, and providing quick access to important customer and vehicle information. The reporting tools also help us monitor performance and make more informed business decisions. Overall, CDK saves time, improves organization, and allows our team to focus more on serving customers instead of managing disconnected systems and manual processes.

**What do you like best about CDK?**

I like that CDK is user-friendly. The codes for everything are common sense, and they work great, making them easy to get the hang of, especially at the beginning. For me, personally, I've noticed there's a lot of ways to get the same information from CDK, which helps me out, especially since I jump around departments a lot. It allows me to save time by quickly looking up information I need, and I never really worry about finding information because I know which screens can give me that information. CDK also solves a space problem for us by allowing us to scan documents, getting rid of physical copies and giving us instant access to documents without having to search in our archives.

**What do you dislike about CDK?**

For me the biggest issue is that I need to keep caps lock on at all times. So if I’m jumping between programs and writing a customer an email then come back and I’m trying to get through screens fast but I’m now in lowercase my screens won’t progress and now I’m getting errors but my fingers are so used to muscle memory that I’m ten screens ahead but my screen is still stuck on that error. Needing caps on everything is a huge pain. Understandable their security from the cyber attack would need work. But their customer service would be greatly improved if they had more people and more skilled people. Getting helped for an issue generally means getting bounced around and going to a few departments and getting my IT person involved when it’s just a CDK issue. It’s taking time away from our work day when the solution was a ten second fix.

CDK solves our space problem by letting us scan documents and ditch physical copies, providing instant access without searching archives. It's user-friendly, and the codes are common sense, saving me time in finding information and streamlining my tasks.

**What do you like best about CDK?**

I use CDK to manage dealership operations, including customer information, vehicle inventory, sales process, service schedule, and reporting. I like that it helps streamline daily workflow by centralizing key business functions in one platform, making it easier to track operations and improve efficiency. What I like most about CDK is its ability to bring multiple dealership functions together in a single platform. I really appreciate the shared data model across departments because sales, services, parts, and accounting aren’t operating in silos. When a vehicle record or customer profile updates in one area, it progresses through the rest of the system, which reduces multiple entry and helps avoid mismatch information between departments. Also, the initial setup was so easy.

**What do you dislike about CDK?**

1- Rigid workflow, 2- user interface feels dated.

**What problems is CDK solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use CDK to manage dealership operations, centralizing functions like customer info, inventory, sales, and service scheduling. It solves the challenge of managing multiple systems by bringing functions together on one platform, improving efficiency with a shared data model, and reducing entry errors across departments.

**What do you like best about CDK?**

Efficient means of managing my sales staff. Very contstuctive and easy to use for sales staff and accounting staff as well. Ease of getting a snapshot of everyday operations and terms

**What do you dislike about CDK?**

Still a few holes in the system. Prime example, when a salesman deletes an appointment it kills all their future follow up tasks with  the customer.

**What problems is CDK solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is increasing efficiency of salesman and use of my time as a manager.

On the appointment piece, what’s happening there is that when an appointment gets deleted, any future follow-ups tied to it are removed as well.
A quick best practice we usually recommend: instead of deleting appointments, just update the status—mark it as a no-show, reschedule it, or cancel it. That way, the system still has a record to work from and your follow-up workflows can keep running as expected.

Not a user friendly software, a lot of training is required

Cdk is the primary accounting software, it is solving the accounting, auditing and tax problems and generating clear reports

Unfortunately, it does not always work easily and the constant changing of passwords is a pain

**What do you like best about CDK?**

We use CDK for FI, Accounting and our Service Dept. Everything stays as up-to-date as necessary but stays consistent. The Ease of Use is and Integrations with their CRM is always smooth.  use this program daily and rarely experience system issues.

**What do you dislike about CDK?**

No issues here! The outage was a terrible set back this year but we recouped as quickly as we could and they handled the outage as professionally as possible. I do wish that it would integrate with other CRMs, more specifically hubspot.

**What problems is CDK solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am the Finance Manager so I use FI and the program integrates perfectly with my warranty and insurance sales program.

The DMS is great for parts and service and has a large capacity for integration volume.

**What do you dislike about CDK?**

It is not user-friendly for accounting and requires multiple steps for the basics.

CDK offers a DSDA that is great for obtaining copies of checks issued, invoices, repairs orders, and more.
