# What's the best conversation intelligence tool for coaching brand new sales reps?

I've been digging into Conversation Intelligence software for a piece on ramping new reps, and this question keeps coming up without a clean answer. Recording calls is easy. Turning old calls into something a brand new rep can actually learn from is the harder part, and most roundups don't get specific about which tools are built for that versus just built for deal visibility.

Here's what stood out once I started reading through actual reviews:

Gong keeps coming up for peer modeling. One reviewer specifically called out listening to top performers' recorded calls as the biggest coaching value, letting newer reps hear how objections get handled instead of just reading about it.

Mindtickle is built more around structured onboarding than call review alone. Reviewers describe moving from ad hoc training calls to self paced, measurable programs, with coaching tools that help frontline managers give consistent feedback.

Jiminny got a lot of praise specifically for onboarding. A few reviewers mentioned new reps listening to senior team members' discovery calls in their first weeks, which apparently cut down on hand holding. Does that kind of self serve ramp actually stick once reps are a few months in, or does it fade?

If you've rolled one of these out to a fresh cohort of reps, I'd like to know how it went. Did the coaching features get used daily, or did they turn into another dashboard nobody opens after week two? And has anyone tried Jiminny specifically with a fully remote SDR team, where you can't just tap someone on the shoulder to listen in?

I’d want coaching embedded into the rep’s weekly workflow rather than relying on them to browse a call library voluntarily. Peer-call examples are valuable early on, but the habit probably sticks better when managers assign specific calls, moments, or skills to review and then coach against the same criteria. For a remote SDR team, that structure could replace a lot of the informal learning that normally happens by sitting near experienced reps.
