We made the switch to Caret Legal in April of 2024 after considering multiple cloud-based systems that could provide a smooth migration from our previous, older platform, minimize downtime, and provide a fully integrated accounting system for our firm. The onboarding teams guided us through the platform every step of the way, making sure we understood every workflow and could adapt the system to firm our needs. The flexibility to customize parts of the platform according to our preferences and procedures has been of great help and has streamlined our daily operations and enhanced efficiency.
I personally use Caret Legal every day for hours, and the system consistently performs well overall. Once of the things I like most about the system is the build-in accounting system. This feature has helped us save time, minimize mistakes, and centralize our financial management. We also appreciate the integrations with Outlook, Word, and Adobe, being able to transition between these programs without worrying about lost files or workflow interruptions has helped boost our productivity.
The platform is user-friendly and is easy for staff to navigate. Caret's training platforms have been particularly helpful. We've appreciated the built-in training available within the system as well as the access to training videos and lessons. The reliability of Caret is another strong point. We rarely experience downtime and if we do, it's handled quickly and communication is excellent. Out dedicated account representative has been outstanding, and is always responsive and proactive, making addressing concerns easy. Having a direct line to a reliable account representative has been a game changer for us and makes us feel supported and heard when we have questions or concerns. Caret has been strong overall, but there are a few aspects that could use some improvements. Particularly, the internal email system is not something our staff finds beneficial due to its simplicity. However, we choose to use the Outlook integration and find it to be adequate for our needs, so the simplicity of the email system is not a major concern for us. The Adobe plugin is also an area that could use slight improvements. While it functions well overall and helps make our document management smooth, the 20 MB file size limit before requiring a download of the document can be frustrating when working with larger items like exhibits.
Our only other concern with Caret Legal to this point has been the general support team. Our dedicated account representative has been excellent, but the general support team available through phone or email doesn't seem to have a great working knowledge of specific details of the system creating longer wait times for responses as tickets are escalated to more experienced reps. While these are concerns for us, they are relatively minor but may be bigger concurs to others. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
