## Canopy Pricing FAQs

Is Canopy free, or does it offer a free trial?

Canopy does not offer a permanent free plan, but it does provide a free trial that lets users to test the product before committing to a paid plan. Trial availability and duration may vary, so users should review the seller's official pricing page for the most current details.

How much does Canopy cost in 2026?

According to G2 data, Canopy pricing in 2026 starts at $74.00 and can reach $149.00 depending on the selected plan. Pricing may vary based on billing terms or usage, so users should review the Canopy's official pricing page for the most current details.

Who is Canopy pricing best suited for?

According to G2 reviewers, Canopy's pricing is best suited for small accounting and CPA firms, with the vast majority of reviewers identifying as small businesses in the accounting industry. G2 reviews of Canopy indicate that sole proprietors and small teams benefit most from the modular structure, selectively adding tiers like Document Management or Time and Billing as their practice grows. Firms doing IRS representation work find the Transcripts and Notices tier particularly valuable. G2 users also note that Canopy's pricing of individual modules makes it scalable, though firms needing the full suite should budget accordingly. Mid-market firms appear less represented in reviews, suggesting Canopy's pricing structure resonates most with smaller, growing practices.

What are the key differences between the free and paid versions of Canopy?

Canopy's Client Management tier is free for up to 500 contacts and includes core features like a client portal, mobile apps, client directory, calendar, automated reminders, and roles management. Canopy's paid tiers unlock specialized functionality: Time and Billing at $24.00/month adds invoicing, time tracking, and payments; Workflow at $30.00/month enables task automation and dashboards; Document Management at $40.00/month provides unlimited storage and integrated eSignature; and Transcripts and Notices at $50.00/month adds IRS integration and tax resolution tools. G2 reviewers note that the free tier provides a solid foundation, but most firms require multiple paid modules to run a complete practice, which increases total cost significantly.

Is Canopy considered good value for its pricing?

G2 reviewers overwhelmingly rate Canopy highly, with most giving 4.0 to 5.0 stars, suggesting strong satisfaction despite frequent cost concerns. Many G2 users describe Canopy's pricing as expensive, particularly the per-user, per-module structure, yet consistently justify the cost by noting it replaces multiple software tools like QuickBooks, HelloSign, Practice CS, and Go File Room. Reviewers frequently highlight that consolidating billing, document management, workflows, and client portals into one platform delivers measurable ROI. However, G2 reviews of Canopy indicate that solo practitioners and very small firms sometimes feel the pricing is disproportionate to their usage, especially when they don't utilize all modules. Overall, Canopy is viewed as a premium but worthwhile investment for firms maximizing its full feature set.

"Canopy is the best system for a CAS system."

5/5

What do you like best about Canopy?

Canopy is easy to use, implement, and integrate. I like how flexible Canopy is. We expect to grow and Canopy easily accomodates our growth. The task list and data storage are among my favorite features. The task list provides the team a dash board of what is urgent and due now. The data storage serves as an excellent client portal.

I've only had to use the customer support twice, but I received immediate help and the problem was resolved within minutes. I appreciate the Canopy team's prompt responses.

Another tool I use frequently is the prepopulated tax forms. I also pull transcripts directly into Canopy in minutes.

Canopy links to Quickbooks to reduce data entry. I love it!

Canopy is a tool for daily use and helps with the revenue and operating cycles of a CPA firm. I love Canopy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Canopy?

I have part-time employees and the cost of Canopy is fixed per employee whether the employee is part-time or full-time. I still prefer using Canopy to manage workflows, clients, and employees. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Canopy solving and how is that benefiting you?

Using tasks in Canopy allows my firm an excellent centralized overview of your engagements. I like this feature and the secure client portal best. Canopy also provides a CRM to track business development efforts. I also appreciate the ability to pull transcrips directly into the client storage and prepopulated tax forms. "Centralized Solutions with Room for AI Innovation"

3.5/5

What do you like best about Canopy?

I use Canopy for our tax and accounting business as our main hub for everything, like task management, billing, notes, communication, and CRM. I like that it's very easy to use and to train people on. It's designed well for what it does, and they offer easy and consistent pricing. I appreciate the good support and knowledge base, which allow us to quickly resolve issues and enable our team to solve their own problems without having to ask another team member. The platform is very intuitive, making it easy to train both new and existing employees. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Canopy?

The platform lacks AI features and automation. I think Canopy does most things well but nothing great, and it lacks customization. The tasks are currently very click-heavy, and I wish they could be more automated and dynamic. A kind of coworker that can complete tasks on your behalf, answer questions, and be an active assistant would be great. Also, while Canopy makes it easy to migrate client info and most files, the notes migration was a big lift. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Canopy solving and how is that benefiting you?

Canopy brings many tools under one umbrella, handling task management, files, client info, billing, and notes all in one place, instead of dealing with fragmented tools. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
