Bynder has an easy to navigate user interface, so onboarding non-technical users does not take a significant effort. We have recently redefined our processes around how to manage our event-related assets and Bynder has played an integral part of it, since it has become faster and much more efficient to distribute photos and manage our external communications. As the Admin of the platform, I have played a major role in the deployment as well and although we had some obstacles during onboarding, now I can say the support we have received is great! I love using Bynder for sharing images because it completely eliminates the need for resizing them for use on websites. The fact that everything is gathered in one place means I don't have to worry about where assets are stored, whether on someone's computer or a shared drive. The integration of AI is a huge plus for me, making searching for assets straightforward without sifting through folders. Also, recognizing people automatically through AI is pretty cool and handy, especially for new employees like me. The CX user community is also a valuable resource for readily available information. I like that Bynder lets us store all our photos in one place. I also like the AI face feature and how quickly I can search through the photo library. The taxonomy is especially helpful because it’s customizable and lets us get really granular with categories. I dislike the upload speeds. I never know when a batch of photos, whether small or large, is going to take a huge amount of time. Also, sometimes there’s only a partial upload, and then I don’t know which files actually loaded and which ones I still need to add. Love how easy it is to keep everything centralized. Our team can quickly find photos, videos, logos, brand documents, and other assets without digging through shared drives. The search functionality, metadata, and tagging system make locating files fast and easy. Everything is very user friendly. Also love the ability to share assets easily with both internal and external users. The Bynder Express tool will be a great alternative to Dropbox and I love that it has a branded appearance.

What I like most about Bynder is how user-friendly it is. The platform is easy to navigate, and I appreciate how customizable it is (landing pages user permissions, etc).

The AI facial recognition and smart search queries are huge time-savers and make it much easier to find the right assets quickly. The ability to remove duplicates is also a huge time and space saver. I also love the third-party waiting room feature because it allows external users to access files without needing a login or training, which simplifies collaboration.

My biggest frustration with Bynder is the pricing model. It feels inflexible, especially for long-term customers. Through Webdam, we were able to sync our Getty Images downloads to automatically upload to a folder on the DAM. We asked if this was possible in Bynder. Not without an additional fee.

Even something as simple as adding an additional administrator comes with added costs. In our case, because we're merging with another organization, we wanted to add someone there as an admin. However, adding an admin user would require not only additional licensing fees but also restarting our internal legal, finance and contracting processes. That creates a significant administrative burden for what feels like a relatively small change.

I also wish there was more flexibility for long-standing customers. We've invested in the Webdam platform for a decade, and now have moved to Bynder and value what it offers, but the lack of accommodation for evolving organizational needs is disappointing. What I like most about Bynder is the level of support we’ve received. The onboarding process was very thorough, and the team has been dedicated, responsive, and attentive to our needs throughout the process.

I also really appreciate how easily Bynder can connect with Claude, as well as how flexible and customizable the platform is to fit our specific needs. For example, I was able to create a Google Sheet connected to Bynder that automatically populates cells with the corresponding product images based on the value entered in the adjacent cell. This shows how much we can do with the platform beyond basic asset management.

I’m still in the process of uploading and organizing our assets, so I haven’t had the opportunity to explore all of the features in depth yet, but so far, I see a lot of potential in the platform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

One of the challenges is getting used to the fact that assets need to be properly named and categorized for the system to work efficiently. Getting everything compliant can be quite time-consuming, especially when dealing with a large volume of existing assets.

It’s also a different way of working for most people on our team. They are used to creating working folders and grouping together the files they need for a specific project, whereas Bynder requires more structure and organization upfront.

There is quite a bit of work involved both before uploading assets—making sure they are properly named and categorized—and afterward, to ensure that everything remains accurate and up to date.
