"Decent ERP but could be much better"

What do you like best about Aptean Compiere ERP?

It's Java based architecture makes it very extensible and out of the box it comes with a complete set of features. Also it has a somewhat powerful platform to make some improvements without the need of coding. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Aptean Compiere ERP?

Compiere is somewhat obsolete. It has a strong but peculiar architecture, and devs need to learn it from scratch in order to make changes and improvements. Also on large scale scenarios its performance decays. Adding new modules is possible but is not the easiest and there are other more modern options that are more suitable for this. What problems is Aptean Compiere ERP solving and how is that benefiting you?

I've implemented Compiere in a handful of companies. Specially related to wholesale and distribution. Modules about purchases, accounts receivable. invoicing and debts are pretty functional out of the box.

In some cases we integrated Compiere with the company's legacy systems and some other in-house systems (warehouse management). It was possible but not quite easy though. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Aptean Compiere ERP?

The reporting in Compiere wasnt great. Not sure if it was the way the administrators controlled or programmed things or if it was the program itself. At one stage my Balance sheet didn't balance which shouldn't happen in an accounting program. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy to use and Powerful enough for most businesses"

What do you like best about Aptean Compiere ERP?

The screens and navigation are very simple to follow. There aren't a ton of drop down menus needed to get to the information you need, like SAP or NS. Once you use the system for a couple of hours, you can do 90% of your job without more training, making it easy to train others.

Even when you've been using the system for years, there's always more shortcuts and workarounds to learn to make things more efficient. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Aptean Compiere ERP?

Compiere doesn't have an inventory tracking system that I can tell. Also, the green check mark and big red x buttons have annoying quirks like not being able to hit enter to activate them, instead hitting spacebar when selected does. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
