What do you like best?

Editor of languages commonly used for the development of apps which offers us many tools and development options such as management and recognition of the syntax of the languages we use, counting on a wide recognition and auto-completion that gives us many options when we go writing the code, it also has different preview modes, which shows us how our app would look according to the chosen device such as android or ios, it also offers many options about the handling of javascript which gives us the preview options in explorer or run as a program, it also has many export options, command color distinction and real-time error detection, which saves us a lot of time especially when we carry out complex jobs or editions Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

The program would only lack an implementation of tools focused on web development itself where we would make java applications focused on websites Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

I recommend using the preview mode appropriate to the main language we are using, on the official page of the program it has tutorials on this same Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

When we edit with this program, many things are provided, especially in the development and editing of company apps, where we have to update it, it also applies to multiple editing projects, when we edit we look at the colors of the commands so that Show us that we are doing it well and also in detecting errors in real time that this program has, also with the various preview options we are analyzing the progress of our projects, and also how they would look on multiple devices before doing them public to all in general... What do you like best?

I like how you can customize the workflows for versioning, development environment, etc. The tool has a lot of features allowing you to manage your workspace and also have, insight into the projects. I also like that there are a lot of learning resources, so getting an answer to a question is not time-consuming. Its also a great value, Jetbrains pricing is very reasonable.

Like many tools, there are great time-saving features like auto-complete, refactoring, code assist, which are really helpful. There is a trainer plugin and that really helps in the beginning when you are working to learn the projects. The ability to set up the workspace and even simple things like touch bar support just save time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

It has a learning curve to it, so it takes a significant investment in time to really get the full potential out of it. One of the best things about the tool is the training plugin, but again it is the time to learn about the product. Once you have spent the time learning the tool it saves a lot of time. It would be great if it had a cross-platform capacity. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

The software is worth the effort to learn, it can and will most likely solve the problem you are in. The cost is very reasonable for the feature set, yes there is Xcode, but it allows you to do have a bit more flexibility than a straight-up Xcode dev environment. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Currently working to create a product to replace a command-line process on mac, the end result will be a significant time saving of using the app to establish settings and replace the time spent doing the work in the command line.

Time savings has been the biggest factor, once the product is complete it will simply eliminate a significant amount of manual processes, which honestly will pay for itself 100 fold. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

An excellent software for editing code specialized in apps that has everything that a code editor can ask for as a large library of commands to auto complete, color badges between various command orders, orders and styles to widely differentiate the when editing code as well as the error stop function, in addition to having the function and specifying the platform for the app and a preview mode that allows us to analyze in real time at the time we are editing the code, account with an organizer either by libraries or folders to distinguish design files from scripts as well as a debugger to avoid editing errors Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

Although we can choose the system and mobile device to which the app is developed, it would not hurt to put the option to auto adjust the device, this in case of editing simpler codes Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

To learn all the functions and tools of this program, I recommend the tutorials of the developer that are on youtube Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

When we have to edit the orders and development packages of apps this is the program we use since they give us very specific editing options as well as what device they are focused on, many times we already complete with templates that we insert here for this elaboration, when we edit on the right side we see the preview and test the codes in order to avoid errors, this program allows us to organize very well the code and style package libraries that the app carries Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

It provides a very solid revision structure with the codes, it is incredible the constant revision and report that this IDE does for your code, with the mistake it would be just an oversight, the margin of errors is minimized and it has excellent shortcuts for your codes, it also has a very comfortable appearance with which you can work, is really effective. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

it is not compatible with a computer with a window operating system, it is only compatible with OS X and macOS, so the development with this IDE depends on the computer, often the tests can only be executed individually and are slowed down in the process. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Is an IDE par excellence since it has all the layers that any powerful IDE can have, besides it does not consume many resources like many. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Its easy implementation and simple personalized configuration allows us a better workflow, it gives us a better dynamic in terms of the development of each element and project, but this IDE offers us a better advantage in the field of error and cooperative work within the same environment of the project.. What do you like best?

As a hardcore JetBrains user, I have come to fancy their IDEs, and AppCode is no exception to that list. It is a great Xcode replacement for building iOS applications in Swift, while having all the key mappings and short cut keys that I am used to on developing for WebStorm. The plugins that are available are easier to manage than in xcode Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

For understandable reasons, it is only available on OS X / macOS, but would be great if a simulated / emulated experience can be had for Windows and Linux machines. Even an option to allow Swift code to be written and checked for syntax error and not compiled would be a great compromise. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Download the trial, good for 30 days. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

The ease of use of a suite of software that developers are familiar with. While Xcode is free*, an additional license for writing software may be steep and/or unnecessary. However, developers that dwell in multiple projects, in multiple languages and platforms, context switching is crucial, so saving time is huge business problem solved in this case. What do you like best?

- Controls and design is identical to all JetBrains products which means any switcher from other languages can use the IDE

- Extended debug mode which you won't find even in Xcode!

- Flexibility in set up of the appearance and hot keys

- Constant maintenance from JetBrains team

- Simulators and real devices support

- Swift and ObjectiveC support Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

One feature I don't like as a SDET, that's unavailability to run one separate test in test class. You can run only whole class. But that' the minor issue and hopefully JetBrains will fix it in the future. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

AppCode is a great alternative that made by JetBrains for Mac. This editor itself is super-customizable, and you can easily customize the font, color and code style. Also the auto-completion feature make my job easier. AppCode even shows me for the unused class or function that really useful for me. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

While I use this apps, I face some issues for example, when I maximizing the program to full-screen, it would lock up my OSX so I can't access Launchpad, Menu bar, or Mission Controls. Also, when scrolling, the screen sometimes flashy and it was annoyingly obstrusive. And I use this apps only after the free trial ended. I still considered to buy this apps for USD 90 Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

if you develop IDE and iOS development, you must consider AppCode for the auto complete, and this apps is smart enough to detect the init method that you're invoking Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

The auto complete is perfect, and the warning that I don't use class or function that I already declared it so it will make my coding clean and effective. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
