## Anomalo Reviews
  ### 1. Anomalo is the best batteries included data monitoring solution we've come across

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shashwat S. | Senior Software Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 17, 2023

**What do you like best about Anomalo?**

+ As an administrator it was really easy to setup Anomalo on our existing infra and get it up and working quickly. This means that we could start finding value really quickly. We set Anomalo up with our k8s infra and it was fairly easy
+ Anomalo conistently finds small issues in our datasets and helps us identify the cause even before vendors detect them. We've pushed issues upstream multiple times when the data producer isn't aware of the issue yet
+ In the past, we've explored many different solutions for this problem and Anomalo has worked much better than all of our home grown solutions in terms of adoption as well as value-added
+ Anomalo UI is extremely easy and awesome to use. This makes it much easier for data analysts and non technical teammates to onboard and add custom checks vs creating a code change.
+ Anomalo's team has been incredibly responsive and helpful

**What do you dislike about Anomalo?**

- Checks are not very configurable. If a dataset gets a sudden increase in rows which is expected, Anomalo will alert 2-3 days before it learns the new normal
- Anomalo's out of the box tests can be expensive(in runtime + cost of computing metrics). They scan all columns even the ones which might not be used anywhere resulting in some wasted work
- Alerts can be noisy and its up to the team to make sure they have a process to work through each alert

**What problems is Anomalo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Anomalo helps us figure out if our datasets are actually correct and match what we expect the data to be.This gives the data teams a lot more control over our datasets and allows us to scale how many datasets we work on without needing more engineers.

  ### 2. An excellent way to monitore data quality

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tamiris C. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 16, 2023

**What do you like best about Anomalo?**

Anomalo is a great tool for monitoring general data quality. Beyond the default metrics, like data freshness and availability, it's excellent to be able to configure custom verifications. To highlight some awesome features, the anomaly history is very useful for understanding the main variations in column statistics. In the custom possibilities, being able to configure alerts using multiple columns, multiple tables or SQL brings several monitoring configurations.

**What do you dislike about Anomalo?**

One limitation that can be mentioned is the impossibility of configuring a BigQuery wildcard table as one single table. The Google Analytics integration with BigQuery is an example; the data is saved in a wildcard table but monitoring the data quality of users' interaction with our website is essential, so it would be great to have this feature in Anomalo.

**What problems is Anomalo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We usually use Anomalo for monitoring our main tables, which contain extremely important data that is used for financial purposes, for instance. It's extremely important to ensure the quality of our sales data because errors can cause problems for the company. We also use Anomalo for monitoring data that is used to feed our ML models, also to assure quality and be able to act over problems quickly.

  ### 3. Best tool for actionable insights directly interpretable by business users

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lucas R. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 18, 2023

**What do you like best about Anomalo?**

It's the best data quality/validation tool for engaging business users and developers. The Root Cause Analysis features provide us with better arguments when approaching developers and less work digging into what is causing data quality problems.

**What do you dislike about Anomalo?**

Customization needs to be more present. For use cases outside of the original tool, things can become infeasible. Also, it does not provide a precise view of collateral cost running validations of the Data Warehouse (which can be a problem in big projects with large tables).

**What problems is Anomalo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are detecting data quality issues and communicating them to engineering and business users. It benefits us by providing more engagement and collaboration among teams (product, data, engineering) to interpret and solve data incidents.

  ### 4. Anomalo is an easy-to-use and powerful data observability tool.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Konrad B. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 03, 2023

**What do you like best about Anomalo?**

Clear and intuitive interface

Low entry threshold. Using Anomalo does not require many hours of study and training.

Beautiful data graphs, very helpful when analyzing data and detecting any anomalies

Setting up a new table takes 1 minute and there are 8 built-in checks right from the start

There is a large variety of custom checks

**What do you dislike about Anomalo?**

In its simplicity, Anomalo sometimes seems to be limited and lacks certain functionalities.

For example:
- Tools and functionality to support multiple teams are missing, such as sending notifications for the same table to different destinations. Possibility of adding comments by different teams or tagging tables.
- There are no tools to control the amount of scanned data (to be able to control costs) to decide whether a given table is worth keeping in Anomalo at all

**What problems is Anomalo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Thanks to Anomalo and transparent charts from the Data Freshness and Data Volume sections, we were able to repeatedly detect data gaps for various days, including historical ones.

In addition, we can clearly see any anomalies related to the amount of processed data for the table for a specific day.

Anomalo gives us, the Data Engineers team, a sense of control and security.

  ### 5. Pulse Dashboard in Anomalo platform is pivotal for health checks & improving our data quality drives

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rithika G. | Cloud Engineer, Information Technology and Services, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 10, 2022

**What do you like best about Anomalo?**

With Anomalo, we could easily focus on improving coverage for our important tables & passing metric checks. We can obtain a deep dive into any statistics so that we have clarity on what should be our priority. This also gives visibility to tables that impact our SLA by overviewing their data arrival time in our dashboard.

**What do you dislike about Anomalo?**

We have recently started using Anomalo to identify data impasses & determine its RCA quickly. We would like to have proper documentation for its features so that it would be easy for us to get familiar with its platform. We integrate Anomalo with our customer data warehouse to perform seamless data quality checks and regulate alerts in case of anomalies.

**What problems is Anomalo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Anomalo's Pulse dashboard is brilliant in regard to unsupervised detection, where even slight change anomalies are determined in our customer datasets. We can conveniently devise our dynamic testing approaches irrespective of the data quality conditions in its platform. Investigation in case of production issues is also accurate as we can expand on any data structure in its Pulse dashboard. It also effectively prevents abnormal schema changes and dataset missouts which usually cause unwanted turmoils.

  ### 10. A simple data-observability tool.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Online Media | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 12, 2023

**What do you like best about Anomalo?**

The major factor I loved about the tool is the simplicity of using it. The interface is super easy to use. The tool could be customised as per the usability of it and as per a user.

**What do you dislike about Anomalo?**

The tool's option to connect to different teams is a significant drawback. The device cannot control the scanned data, helping decide the table's credibility. Hope it gets resolved.

**What problems is Anomalo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helped majorly to detect the gaps between large data volumes.Clarity over different anamolies was a pleasure using the tool. And to add again the simplicity of the tool helped when it came to understanding the entire use of the tool.

  ### 11. Product is not mature

**What do you like best about Anomalo?**

It's easy to set up new tables with automatic checks and for stakeholders to dive into the data.

**What do you dislike about Anomalo?**

Some of the automated outlier detection models don't work very well. For example, predicting bounds outside of possible value ranges.

**What problems is Anomalo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are able to spot data issues much closer to real time. Previously data quality issues could go days or even weeks without notice.

  ### 13. Using anomalo for anomaly detection

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 22, 2023

**What do you like best about Anomalo?**

Nice platform with useful features that gives a lot of anomaly detection flexibility

**What do you dislike about Anomalo?**

sometimes there are to much features, would be nice to have a guided question to set test rules and validations

**What problems is Anomalo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Anomalo gives us the ability to see if there increase in nulls or drops in specific column and etc

  ### 14. Anomalo provides a great solution for data teams to monitor data quality

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Zhongxia Z. | Engineering Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 31, 2022

**What do you like best about Anomalo?**

- Anomalo provides a solution that we can easily integrate with our data stores (Snowflake, Databricks Delta) and immediately start to configure data quality checks for all the tables that we care about.
- Anomalo in general is very easy to use, yet it is also comprehensive. It allows us to configure almost any key metrics and validation rules in SQL based on what we need to monitor for data quality. It provides integration with Okta, Slack, PagerDuty which are the tech stacks that we use in Opendoor, therefore onboarding Anomalo is quite a smooth experience.
- In addition to the UI, Anomalo also provides a Python SDK which enables a ton of flexibility to integrate Anomalo into building data pipelines and triggering data quality checks on the fly.
- Anomalo's team has been quite responsive to our questions and requests. We have regular office hours to meet with Anomalo's team to discuss questions and so far it has been very helpful every time.

**What do you dislike about Anomalo?**

- The way that Anomalo presents the metric results can potentially be improved. One significant inconvenient issue that we observed, is that if there is a table has a lot of "segments", then any metrics graph based on segment is pretty hard to digest because the segments and their metric values are not sorted based on segment names. The segment names are also not searchable because the metric graph is an image.
- Anomalo UI user experience can be further improved. Sometimes these use cases can be hard to find out unless Anomalo's team really understands how the customer is using the solution.
For example, there is currently not a great way to view the history of a single check. The best thing to do is to go to the URL /dashboard/check_runs/<run_id>/runs?sort=-started_at but notice that there is a "<run_id>" in the URL instead of a "<check_id>". This means that the history is showing all the runs for a particular check up to the run_id specified in the URL, and therefore there is not a stable URL to see the history.
- Anomalo doesn't have a solution for data lineage visualization yet. While this is not super critical in my company (other than sometimes we need to know if deleting a table could cause any downstream impact), it can be an important functionality that is needed for other companies. Some companies in the data observability area provides lineage such as Monte Carlo.

**What problems is Anomalo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Anomalo is solving our team's growing needs to monitor data quality. Our team previously tried solutions such as Great Expectations, but it is not super flexible (e.g. the threshold of whether there is a data quality issue or not has to be hardcoded) and it requires writing code to configure data quality checks. Our team has just started configuring Anomalo for all our production tables and we are confident that it will bring very positive benefits.

  ### 15. Still in its early stages but a great product considering where it's at

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sam G. | Analytics Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 31, 2022

**What do you like best about Anomalo?**

Automated anomaly detection makes my life as a data engineering professional way easier, especially managing high-visibility datasets where important failures are not just a matter of the ETL failing, but of the contents of the table changing meaningfully. It's super easy to set up good alerts that detect all kinds of undesired changes or issues in the data. The UI is very intuitive and clear. The reporting/analysis tools are excellent. The triage system is simple but effective.

**What do you dislike about Anomalo?**

A lot of features outside of the core anomaly detection piece are under-developed and make the tool less useful than it could/will be. Ideally you could send alerts to more than one slack channel or destinations outside of Slack using just the UI. The API is clumsy (ex. it's very difficult to update just one parameter in the config for a table with an existing config) and not fully documented. Datadog integration is a dealbreaker for some teams.

**Recommendations to others considering Anomalo:**

Save google sheets with table config IDs when building configs!

**What problems is Anomalo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With the Great Resignation and hypergrowth in a until-recently-start-up environment, there is more data at our company than can be easily monitored for quality without good tooling. Before Anomalo the tooling we had only covered failures in ETLs and very basic issues like if there was an unexpectedly small number of records in a table. Anomalo has made our whole team more efficient by identifying more kinds of issues automatically.

  ### 16. A flexible, powerful tool for data teams

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kevin W. | Data Scientist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 30, 2022

**What do you like best about Anomalo?**

Anomalo has helped Faire's data organization maintain high-quality data models and pipelines that are key to effective operation. Anomalo diagnoses data quality issues efficiently, providing well-designed automatic alerts integrated into Slack with data visualizations that highlight critical trends and potential errors that require attention. Catching errors that may have otherwise gone unnoticed for days if not weeks has been a major benefit of setting up alerts on tables in our data warehouse. Our cross-functional analytics, product, and engineering partners appreciate and engage with Anomalo's intuitive alerts, which have sparked discussions that have led to better outcomes and resolutions for the data team, our customers, and the larger business.

**What do you dislike about Anomalo?**

There are some customization options we would like to have in Anomalo to fine-tune their product to our organization's use cases that are not available just yet, including integration into our engineering DB and additional team-based functionalities. However, the Anomalo team has been supportive and engaged in actioning many of our previous feature requests into fully fledged features, or suggested adaptations that have worked quite well for our organization.

**What problems is Anomalo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Anomalo validates the necessary properties of ETL inputs and outputs reducing the time data and analytics team members need to spend hunting down and correcting issues.
Anomalo has improved the trust and reliability of data products for downstream consumers – and even empowered consumers to set up their own checks on aspects of the data model relevant to their work.
Anomalo tracks and alerts any metric or segment level metrics in an intelligent manner on a daily interval, alerting on conditions we specify when setting up checks and reducing the need to manually check as many dashboards.

  ### 17. Great tool that works well with a great team behind!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 17, 2022

**What do you like best about Anomalo?**

We were able to detect data issues quickly using Anomalo and get the alerts quickly so that we could fix them quickly and move on.
We are using this tool to detect infra issues in data pipelines, data quality issues and even monitoring business KPIs - this is how much we trust this tool!

**What do you dislike about Anomalo?**

- Some aspects are not part of the original GUI, so you need to access the Django app to manage them.
 - The rollout of new features that impact the env without being able to mark it as a feature flag before it impacts the environment (although the Anomalos team was really there to help and discuss this issue and to find solutions).

**Recommendations to others considering Anomalo:**

Just try it!

**What problems is Anomalo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ability to know that there is a great tool that will detect data issues quickly!
You will spend far less time locating an issue and solving it - no more messages from end-users who noticed a drop in a dashboard graph.

  ### 18. Anomalo has dramatically scaled up our ability to monitor and maintain data quality.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 27, 2022

**What do you like best about Anomalo?**

Anamalo has a strong user experience, offers high quality timeseries models, and translates quickly into impact on data quality. The ability to configure robust data quality checks in just a minute or two makes it feasible to enable monitoring across the entire data ecosystem rather than just a few of the highest importance data assets. Integrations with Slack and PagerDuty also make it easy to use Anomalo directly inside of existing workflows.

**What do you dislike about Anomalo?**

There are a few minor corner cases that could work more smoothly, and user intro documentation could expand, but in general the product has really high perfomance.

**What problems is Anomalo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Anomalo lowers the work necessary to implement ongoing data quality monitoring. It has allowed our data teams to quickly scale up our breadth of data quality checks, which have already picked up a lot of bugs and led to increased confidence in the metrics we surface.

  ### 19. End user feedback

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Renee Z. | Sr. Manager Fraud Strategy and Product, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 11, 2022

**What do you like best about Anomalo?**

Anomalo is a great data visualization tool when it comes to simplifying the process for data pattern exploration and data drift identification.

**What do you dislike about Anomalo?**

Anomalo could have provided more backend support in terms of easier access for API services, application integration, and providing interactive feedback capabilities for false-positive suppression. I would also like to see Anomalo enhance its capabilities for potential root cause analysis. As an analyst/data scientist, it will be very helpful to provide detailed drill-down capability after a certain anomaly is detected. For example, if a customer SQL detects a pattern drift, it will be extremely helpful if Anomalo could suggest detailed segments that primarily contribute to the pattern drift. Similar to the decision tree concept, without users having to come up with additional diagnostic SQL to understand the root cause, Anomalo can provide potential segmentation nodes to separate the normal population and biased population.

**Recommendations to others considering Anomalo:**

Anomalo is a great data visualization tool when it comes to simplifying the process for data pattern exploration and data drift identification.

**What problems is Anomalo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Anomalo is a great data visualization tool when it comes to simplifying the process for data pattern exploration and data drift identification. As an end-user, I go to Anomalo when I need a quick and easy data visualization to identify a major trend that is currently not very straightforward using other toolkits like Tabluea, python packages, airflow, etc. Anomalo combines the features of trend analysis, data segmentation, scheduling and data visualization capabilities, which come in handy for a data scientist/analyst to leverage in their daily role.

  ### 20. Great Experience with Anomalo for Data Quality use cases and data profiling

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Abhilash P. | Senior Manager, Advanced Analytics, Information Management, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 11, 2022

**What do you like best about Anomalo?**

Success of Anomalo is due to the company's professional team(s), open and modular product structure as well as the dedicated practice that has great knowledge and understanding about how data and analytics work in different organizations. I enjoy working with the Anomalo team!
Our team had several critical use cases for data quality and profiling. We tried several products earlier to Anomalo and failed miserably due to multiple issues but Anomalo helped us implement the business data quality rules in days which took 5% of the time taken to see the Returns of Investing in Anomalo.
I became very passionate about Anomalo and I recommend Anomalo to any industry irrespective of how data structures are implemented within the organization. It is very nimble and easy to implement. They made some changes in the product that took weeks compared to other products who take years to implement.
Overall it is a Win for any organization that invests in Anomalo

**What do you dislike about Anomalo?**

We have seen few issues with documentation but those have been corrected. Team done great job with documentations thus far

**What problems is Anomalo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Data Quality, Profiling for analytic data assets

  ### 21. Great Data Anomaly Tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 17, 2022

**What do you like best about Anomalo?**

I like how consistent Anomalo is at being able to monitor and alert us about any discrepancies that stand out. You're also able to adjust the threshold making it more or less noisy depending on how important the check is. Anomalo has definitely helped my team be more proactive in catching issues.

**What do you dislike about Anomalo?**

It can be a bit annoying configuring all the tables since you need to configure each one manually. But at the moment I'm not experiencing any pain points that could not be resolved by the Anomalo team

**Recommendations to others considering Anomalo:**

If you would like to automate data discrepancy/anomaly checks and work with a responsive support team, I would definitely reccomend Anomalo

**What problems is Anomalo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're solving the issue of data anomalies and data discrepancies with Anomalo. Our team was always reactive but since utilizing Anomalo, we have been more proactive in catching issues before the issues reach out stakeholders

  ### 22. Powerful Anomaly Detection Tool with Simple UI

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 25, 2022

**What do you like best about Anomalo?**

Anomalo is a lightweight solution to identify issues with data pipelines as well as "anamolous" events in our data. Setting up appropriate alerts allows for "hands-off" monitoring and for increased visibility into our data with the same resources.

**What do you dislike about Anomalo?**

Anomaly detection right now seems to be based around a single time series algorithm, in which a trend is assumed with some constant noise. That anomaly detection algorithm doesn't work well now when adding in too much sampling error (i.e., observations based on small n).

**What problems is Anomalo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

* Anomalo has successfully detected suspicious activity in our platform, giving us the confidence to use it for this purpose in the future.
* Anomalo alerts us to failures in data pipelines.
* Anomalo is allowing us greater coverage in our analytics, not requiring that a user manual view key metrics on our platform.

  ### 23. Anomaly detection with Anomalo

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 23, 2022

**What do you like best about Anomalo?**

Anomalo helps us to, with very low effort, increase the confidence in the data products provided by our data teams. Within a minute Anomalo can be set up to run its checks on a new table. The out-of-the-box checks provided by Anomalo, focused on freshness, completeness and table anomalies, improve the observability of our data. Running Anomalo independent of our data pipelines, provides an additional layer of checks that helps us to increase the trust in our datasets. Additional checks on key metrics and validation rules can be configured through the UI, with no coding required. This enables business users themselves to set up checks according to their needs, without the data team becoming a blocker. Additionally, having an external tool for anomaly detection helps us to apply industry best practices as Anomalo emphasizes nudging users to leverage the tool according to these best practices.

**What do you dislike about Anomalo?**

Not much, Anomalo is a fairly young company able to quickly adapt to user requests and feedback. Any problems with the tool are usually quickly resolved and we're in good contact with their product team.

**What problems is Anomalo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We leverage Anomalo as our second layer of defense against data quality issues. The first layer is implemented within our data pipelines and is focused on the accurateness of our data (is a key unique etc) and has essentially no false-positive alerts. Anomalo takes care of all the checks that can have false positives. From completeness of datasets according to our SLAs, to distributions and anomalies within the datasets provided.

  ### 24. An extra data engineer on the team

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 04, 2022

**What do you like best about Anomalo?**

Anomalo is like having an extra data engineer on the team whose responsibility is to monitor to make sure nothing is going off the rails. In a lean data organization like the one I work in, this is invaluable, as it frees me and the rest of the team up to focus on more strategic data/business issues.

**What do you dislike about Anomalo?**

There isn't a ton I dislike. Some of the UI and visualizations can be tough to grok, but you learn how to focus on the key things that matter and then hone in on those checks/visuals.

**What problems is Anomalo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Anomalo helps us ensure that we have a high standard of data quality and notifies us of peculiarities that we might not otherwise uncover.

  ### 25. Recent integration for data monitoring on payment data

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 10, 2022

**What do you like best about Anomalo?**

It's an easy and quick configuration, there are already a lot of checks very useful to use for a 5 minutes setup. Plus, there are a lot more functionalities there that are customizable. It solved a lot of our bottleneck problems over the past years by bringing a fast and easy way to monitor data missing etc. Also, I want to mention the ability to connect to pagerduty, slack etc to make the general engineering development cycle and maintenance smooth! Lastly, the engineers/PMs from Anomalo paired with us on figuring out solutions when we had questions.

**What do you dislike about Anomalo?**

To be honest, for anything that I feel could be improved, I talk to their PM directly for feature requests. They are a very fast-paced team who can deliver new features promptly, which is great.

**Recommendations to others considering Anomalo:**

If anyone has a hard time choosing a data quality monitoring tool, think about Anomalo.

**What problems is Anomalo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

data-monitoring checks on missing data; new ENUMs in the data; data trends anomalies; although I could not review too much due to business confidentiality, it helped us a lot.

  ### 26. Convenient fire and forget solution that's saved our butts a few times already

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Wholesale | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 27, 2022

**What do you like best about Anomalo?**

It's very quick to set up checks. Find table, couple of clicks, punt to Slack channel - all set for many use cases. Good docs too, and we've been fortunate to have a direct comm channel with their product manager and CEO for more specific questions, and they've been super helpful in responding.

**What do you dislike about Anomalo?**

Some more advanced "power user" techniques are hidden in the Django admin console, and are undocumented.

**What problems is Anomalo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Data validation ("functional testing" for data pipelines) without having to set up the infrastructure. Saves a lot of time on this front, and we've found creative use-cases for our business using even the basic checks.

  ### 27. My experience with using Anomalo

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sid S. | Data Governance Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 26, 2022

**What do you like best about Anomalo?**

I appreciate the native (OOTB) scans which require minimal mouseclicks. Customer support so far has been outstanding.

**What do you dislike about Anomalo?**

I am looking for more visualizations to summarize DQ results. To be fair, this is a work in progress for Anomalo and wouldn't be surprised if they have advances here in the near future.

**What problems is Anomalo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are solutioning DQ by pushing the enablement into the hands of the business stewards (data consumers) - the end users -- where adoption and mitigation truly reside.

  ### 28. Simple yet powerful data quality monitoring for your data warehouse

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Investment Management | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 30, 2022

**What do you like best about Anomalo?**

The Anomalo platform makes it very easy to create comprehensive monitoring for your data warehouse. The product provides a simple way to set up powerful data quality tests that would be difficult or impossible to implement in other products.

**What do you dislike about Anomalo?**

The product is lacking maturity in terms of integrations with other systems, e.g., for logging and aggregating alerts. The documentation is also occasionally lagging behind the feature set.

**What problems is Anomalo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The advanced data quality tests in Anomalo help us find issues in our data that would otherwise go unnoticed or be detected at a later time, when damage may already be done.

  ### 29. Automated Data Quality In a Few Clicks

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 21, 2022

**What do you like best about Anomalo?**

Anomalo has helped us scale our data quality not only through their automated checks but also by letting us put the tool directly in the hands of the business data owners. The pre-baked templates available in the user-defined checks have allowed us to remove hand-offs between business and technology and instead empower the business to serve themselves. The automated root cause analysis Anomalo performs when a possible data issue is found has also expedited our data quality issue remediation time.

**What do you dislike about Anomalo?**

We have had an overall positive experience with leveraging Anomalo. The resolution flow capability being built into the product and the continued maturation of the Pulse dashboard capability will fill some slight gaps in the reporting and remediation space. However, even those slight gaps don't overshadow the business value we have found using this product.

**What problems is Anomalo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Scaling data quality coverage through Anomalo's automated checks and providing our business users a self-service platform for managing their own detective data quality controls.

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 24, 2022

**What problems is Anomalo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our company has a data quality problem and Anomalo is helping the data team tackle it head-on. There are three main categories Anomalo is helping with: North start metric tracking, validating business assumptions, and monitoring software data bugs. The data team now has much better observability within our data warehouse, and we can implement custom alerts for many teams at scale.

  ### 32. Anomalo Catches Data Quality Issues

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 20, 2022

**What do you like best about Anomalo?**

Anomalo allows you to set up metric checks specific to each data source. It also has built-in checks for each source that automatically detect changes in frequency, uniqueness, freshness, etc. The automated checks are awesome at revealing issues you didn't even know to look for.

**What do you dislike about Anomalo?**

Anomalo is still pretty new, so some of the features are still on the road map. The team has been responsive to our requests though and take the time to understand our use cases.

**What problems is Anomalo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Anomalo helps us find broken data pipelines before our stakeholders do. In a business where fraud detection is critical, it helps to have the automated data checks that Anomalo provides.

**Reviewed Date:** April 26, 2022

**What do you like best about Anomalo?**

It is super quick and easy to create and modify checks, even for more elaborate test cases. Compared to other testing tools, I've found that Anomalo requires much less time to create new checks. The library of reliable common test cases and friendly UI help make it just a couple of clicks to get a new check set up and running.

**What do you dislike about Anomalo?**

The team has been really proactive in collecting and responding to any feedback on the tool. They have consistently added more features and enhancements into the tool in response to new use cases. I'm not experiencing any dislikes or challenges.

**What problems is Anomalo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Anomalo has improved our data quality. It's been very effective at catching data issues and promptly notifying us. Anomalo also provides a lot of helpful facts about data issues, which greatly helps when we have something to resolve.

So far, the platform and the support team have covered all my expectations.

**What problems is Anomalo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With Anomalo, we expect to cover our core tables with metrics and validation rules to identify any anomaly. So far, we have detected lots of data incidents and worked on them based on the root cause analysis provided.
