# Which screen and video capture software offers the highest resolution?

<p class="elv-tracking-normal elv-text-default elv-font-figtree elv-text-base elv-leading-base elv-font-normal" elv="true">Hi, G2 community. Video quality is a top priority for us, particularly when creating tutorials and marketing content. I’d like to know which platforms consistently deliver the sharpest resolution. Ideally, I’m looking for <a class="a a--md" elv="true" href="https://www.g2.com/categories/screen-and-video-capture">screen and video capture software</a> that can:</p><ul>
<li>Support HD and preferably 4K recording</li>
<li>Maintain video quality in longer sessions without glitches</li>
<li>Offer editing options that don’t reduce resolution</li>
<li>Balance high resolution with manageable file sizes</li>
<li>Work smoothly across different devices or operating systems</li>
</ul><p class="elv-tracking-normal elv-text-default elv-font-figtree elv-text-base elv-leading-base elv-font-normal" elv="true">Here are a few tools I’ve been comparing:</p><ul>
<li>
<a class="a a--md" elv="true" href="https://www.g2.com/products/riverside/reviews">Riverside</a>: Supports up to 4K local recordings with separate tracks. Does it hold up well in everyday use beyond podcasts?</li>
<li>
<a class="a a--md" elv="true" href="https://www.g2.com/products/camtasia/reviews">Camtasia</a>: Lets you record and edit in HD or higher. Do long tutorials stay crisp after editing and export?</li>
<li>
<a class="a a--md" elv="true" href="https://www.g2.com/products/zoom-workplace/reviews">Zoom Workplace</a>: Convenient for webinars, but are its recording resolutions high enough for polished professional content?</li>
<li>
<a class="a a--md" elv="true" href="https://www.g2.com/products/snagit/reviews">Snagit</a>: Great for quick captures, but is it sufficient for producing high-resolution video tutorials?</li>
</ul><p class="elv-tracking-normal elv-text-default elv-font-figtree elv-text-base elv-leading-base elv-font-normal" elv="true">For those producing high-quality videos:</p><ul>
<li>Which tool has given you the sharpest, most reliable results?</li>
<li>Do you find 4K necessary, or is HD good enough in most cases?</li>
<li>Any challenges with storage, playback, or editing large high-res files?</li>
</ul><p class="elv-tracking-normal elv-text-default elv-font-figtree elv-text-base elv-leading-base elv-font-normal" elv="true">Thanks!</p>

&lt;p&gt;Do you find higher resolution recordings actually improve engagement, or do most viewers not notice the difference beyond HD?&lt;/p&gt;
