"Solid legal time and billing solution "

What do you like best?

Easy to understand data structure and process flows. Helpful support staff. Product teams are open to customer feedback and provide opportunities for direct input into the development of new upgrades/applications.

What do you dislike?

Deployment, upgrading, and customization of the applications built on the new framework is still far more complex than it should be. Support and professional services teams are often understaffed, especially in regards to cases involving the newer applications.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Stick to the "out of the box" versions of the software as much as possible unless you have dedicated developers that are able to maintain the customizations specific to your environment. Luckily, Aderant has become more keenly aware of this problem and addressing it via their Design Studio suite.

Legal time and billing solution. We've realized efficiency gains through use of the Aderant workflow solution.

"Easy to use"

What do you like best?

I like the shortcuts that you can use for narratives using the "=" sign. And, it flags in red when you enter a word it does not recognize.

What do you dislike?

Sometimes if you make an error, it puts an time entry in the "incomplete" section and you can't figure out what you did wrong. These are parameters that are user-specific I believe.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

It's easy for timekeepers to enter time, including remotely or on a cell phone.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Getting timekeepers' time in quicker and more efficiently, not losing time for failure to record in Aderant.

"Over implicated and not user friendly"

What do you like best?

High functionality

Honestly not even forty characters worth

What do you dislike?

Unnecessary steps and entries in many aspects, could be streamlined and still do its job.

Reports are created in a format that is useless for management in Excel, and there is no workaround

Simple features like spell check and custom dictionary are either missing or not cumbersome.

"Extremely frustrating."

What do you like best?

Conceptually fantastic product with timers to capture work as I go and enter during the day and at the end of the day.

What do you dislike?

Program crashes constantly. It is cumbersome to search for the proper client number/matter. The recent upgrade has made these problems worse and the program slower.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Consult attorneys as well as accounting/billing employees. The program may be very useful to the latter but in its current version it will frustrate attorneys if they want to use timers.

"Good not great"

What do you like best?

I am able to access documents fairly quickly even remotely.

What do you dislike?

Time entry is slow. The program would benefit from an easy tutorial because it isn't the most user friendly.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We use it for both billing/time entry and for document management. I find it most useful for document management.

"Very clear, albeit difficult to learn initially"

It is very straightforward and descriptive. The boxes are clearly labeled and well organized.

What do you dislike?

It can be overwhelming and slightly chaotic.

"Mediocre program"

What do you like best?

I like the modern look of the program and that you have many aspects of matter management linked between each other.

What do you dislike?

Program is not web-based, and it is very slow.
