## Chameleon Reviews
  ### 1. Brilliant In-App User Guidance Made Easy with Chameleon

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Adam M. | Senior Technical Writer, Information Technology and Services, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

I love how Chameleon is very flexible, offering loads of different options like customizing the color scheme and how the corporate branding looks and feels on the screen. It's also great that I can fade out the rest of the UI to highlight specific buttons or messages without disruption. It's pretty much code-free, which is a huge plus because I can manage it within the documentation and training team without needing the R and D software development team. This makes it really helpful. I also appreciate that Chameleon gives us tools to make user guidance more accessible, like integrating help and training directly into the software, making it much more visible and at users' fingertips. The ability to give walkthroughs and UI tours is fantastic, offering dual benefits for us.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

There's a lot of customization. But maybe more of that and making the onboarding a little bit more straightforward. The staff are really good to work with. They're very helpful, but I suppose a minor criticism would be to make it easier just to set up on your own without having to involve the software teams. But I suppose because it's quite complex deployment in our case that was necessary. Some features are not relevant to us and seem a bit gimmicky, but I see how they could be valuable in some use cases.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Chameleon for in-app user guidance, which helps with onboarding new users and highlighting new features. It offers a non-disruptive way to educate users, making the information more accessible and integrated directly into the application. It is also showing our value internally to prodct managers and directors. It makes our documentation and training content easier to find for users.

  ### 2. Tailored Partner Communication with Guided Precision

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shae J. | Associate Product Marketing Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 28, 2026

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

I like that Chameleon provides guided steps and allows me to be very specific with what I want to do. It's helpful because I want to target a specific set of customers based on their actions on the platform or related to specific criteria like time or tasks. I find it valuable to follow these steps and see analytics afterwards. I also appreciate how it lets me target partners for different things with different criteria and offers various options like tours and step-by-step tours. For me, using it for one-off notification banners is great.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

At first, it was a little bit complicated to set up the different if, and, if they see this, then show this. If the screen URL has that, then do this. It was a bit complex. I wouldn't have been able to set it up without a coworker walking me through it step by step on how it works.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Chameleon helps me communicate with a specific set of partners using specific criteria and guided steps. It lets me target customers based on actions or timing and analyze results, which helps in being precise with actions and seeing analytics.

  ### 3. Fantastic User Experience Builder with Room for AI Enhancement

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Daniel C. | Product Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 03, 2026

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

I appreciate Chameleon for bringing experiences into my product quickly with Tours, Microsurveys, and help guides, without needing any engineering effort. It's easy to launch and control things and modify them as required. I like the ability to control the audience and use drag-and-drop features right from the product UI with the builder widget. The builder helps me design layers like extra banners and microsurveys in a WYSIWYG format, enhancing the end-user experience. It's fantastic that I can set up and control who these experiences are shown to, and I can deploy, revert, or modify features as needed. The initial setup was easy and fast.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

I want more ability to customize in the flow or canvas and an option to prompt and set up the experience using AI features. It would be great to have an interface where I can chat and share my requirements with Chameleon to automate the setup, instead of manually dragging and dropping things.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Chameleon for quick guides, saving engineering effort. It's easy to launch, control, and modify experiences and lets me design UI features and control deployment all effortlessly.

  ### 4. Frustrating Experience with Inconsistent Performance

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kasia Z. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

I like using Chameleon for enabling new tours, creating announcements, and preparing onboardings for users. One of the things I appreciate most is its collaborative nature—everyone can jump in and contribute. It really helps that I don't have to create whole components by myself, nor do I need dedicated developers to reach users and inform them about new features. Plus, I can collaborate with teammates from different divisions like marketing and product. We can work simultaneously on design and text layers, which is a huge plus.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

Oh many. It clashes, preview is not working properly, it shows different values on preview and then on prod live, it's hard to style and many more. When flow is created there is not enough information where something is wrong, not clear notifications when something is broken. Also preview is different inside builder and then on prod - there have been some movement of elements without me editing stuff. Also it's extremely slow - info icons are displayed in my product with delay.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Chameleon for creating onboarding elements without needing developers, informing users about new features, and collaborating with teammates across divisions.

**Official Response from Pulkit Agrawal:**

> hi Kasia, very sorry to hear you've been experiencing inconsistencies between the Preview mode and Live Experiences; Preview shows the "staged" changes but there may be something strange happening in the installation and we'd love to help you review and resolve. I'm also happy to resolve your styling concerns (usually this is due to problematic CSS or underuse of "Themes", and we'll soon our Governance Agent ("Ranger") will flag CSS issues and help you resolve them programmatically) so I'll drop you an email and let's see if we can figure this out! Apologies again for the suboptimal experience and frustration- we'd love a chance to do better 🙏

  ### 5. Easy, Self-Serve Product Tours and Micro-Surveys with Great Performance Insights

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 24, 2026

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

The ease of use for non technical teams. The copy inside the product is instructive, guiding & friendly so I don't feel lost.

The product capability is also mostly self serve without needing technical help. I use Chameleon to launch micro-surveys to our users & also launch very specific custom tours for customer audiences.

The performance is also amazing, with clear information on how long will it take for exporting etc. The AI, data analytics is also decent providing insights on which tours is working well, what needs optimization etc.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

There could be a learning curve initially. I also have a love hate relationship with microsurveys. It is good, but not highly customizable. I would love to customize my "Thank you" responses for a survey based on the input (survey rating). Minute features like this is not available chameleon and its one think I don't like about the tool

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a customer marketer, I'd like to be on top of my customers. And Chameleon is helping me do that. By launching NPS surveys, feature specific surveys and closely integrating with our product databases + events, I could easily pulse-check on my customer marketing campaigns

  ### 6. Simplifies User Feedback with Easy Setup, Needs More Customization

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ítalo D. | Technical Project Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 04, 2026

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

I like how easy it is to build and launch with Chameleon. Using Chameleon to collect feedback is very straightforward, and setting it up was easy. It's good to see results that help improve our product based on the answers we receive. The initial setup was very easy, with good documentation, and just a few lines of code needed. Additionally, the interface is quite straightforward.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

The part of how much we can customize the interface that it showed for the user. We're not seeing many options and the design doesn't look the same experience that we have on our app. So this is something that they can definitely improve. And, also, they can add a little bit more customization on the questions that we can make, how we can connect questions and make them triggered by other questions.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Chameleon to understand user behavior and improve our app's interface. It's easy to set up, build, and launch surveys, collect feedback, and improve our product based on responses. It's straightforward and effective for product enhancement.

  ### 7. Lightning-Fast Support and a Smooth Chameleon Setup process

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Market Research | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 18, 2026

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

The support team is incredibly fast. They usually reach out within minutes via email and Slack. I’ve also had the chance to get help directly from their engineers on a complex Chameleon testing workflow my team was building, and the support we received from the Chameleon team was excellent.

The product itself is also very easy to install in any SaaS application, and it’s straightforward to use day to day.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

I’m not entirely sure what to say. As an engineer, I only worked on installing the library in our frontend framework and building the technical testing infrastructure around it, and I haven’t run into anything to complain about so far. I've used it to build some guides and launchers, but that has also been very smooth for me.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have a very complex Market Research platform with a plethora of features, and we release something new every single day. Chameleon is our main way to educate our customers on how to use some of these more complex features. It reduces human effort by replacing meetings between Account Managers and customers with guided tours that teach them how to use our platform.

  ### 8. Powerful In-App Guidance with a Learning Curve

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Clara S.

**Reviewed Date:** January 30, 2026

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

I use Chameleon to guide users inside our product flows. I like how it provides clear in-app guidance and timely messages right inside the product, solving the problem of users missing features or getting confused during onboarding. What I like most about Chameleon is how easy it is to create in-app experiences like tooltips and announcements without needing a lot of engineering work. These tooltips and announcements are especially valuable because they let us guide users at the right moment inside the product. The initial setup was fairly straightforward, with basic flows and tooltips being quick to implement, enhancing in-app guidance and feature adoption.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

Some advanced features can take time to learn, and setting up more complex flows isn’t always very intuitive at first. Chameleon could improve by making advanced features easier to understand with better in-app guidance, templates, or step-by-step setup for complex flows. More visual flow builders and clearer documentation would also help reduce the learning curve, especially for non-technical users.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Chameleon to guide users inside our product flows, solving the problem of users missing features or getting confused during onboarding by providing clear in-app guidance and timely messages right inside the product.

  ### 9. Responsive AI, Great Support, Needs Some UI Tweaks

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Roxanne M. | Staff Product Designer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 26, 2026

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

I like the customer support and the new AI feature in Chameleon. The AI support is responsive and does a great job of responding to natural language, which sets me up quickly with the templates I need to customize. This really helps in getting started more quickly by taking care of those manual tasks. I also appreciate the easy interface and the powerful features that Chameleon offers.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

The 'remote' is cumbersome, and the interface could be cleaner. Also, the preview and publishing process feels bulky. I feel like I should be able to 'go live' quicker from that interface, rather than having to go through the dashboard. The setup feels a little bit slower than I would like it to be.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Chameleon for onboarding and walkthroughs, expecting it to boost engagement with new features. The AI feature responds naturally, swiftly setting up templates, saving time on manual tasks.

  ### 10. Easy product tours

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kevin B. | Content Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 02, 2024

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

It can handle pretty much everything I need when onboarding new users or walking them through our software’s functionality. My interactions with their team have also been a delight. We’ve been using Chameleon for a while now, and our Customer Success Manager schedules regular check-ins to see how things are going, keep us updated, and share helpful recommendations. Their newest AI functions also make it super easy to improve your onboarding.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

I wish their HubSpot integration offered more options, especially when it comes to reporting.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With Chameleon, we were able to improve our conversion rate among trial users who don’t speak with our sales or support team.

  ### 11. Intuitive No Code Tours and Tooltips That Speed Up Onboarding

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Valentina C. | UX and Onboarding Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 19, 2026

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Building in app tours and tooltips without pulling in engineering every single time has been the change our product team needed. The no code builder is intuitive enough that our customer success team owns the onboarding experience independently now which has shortened the time between identifying a user problem and deploying a fix considerably.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

Analytics inside the platform could go deeper for the price point it sits at.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

New user activation was a persistent weak point in our funnel and we had limited visibility into exactly where people were dropping off inside the product. Chameleon gave us the tools to guide users toward key actions at the right moment in their journey rather than hoping they discovered features on their own.

  ### 12. Streamlined User Onboarding with Interactive Guidance

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Paul W.

**Reviewed Date:** January 16, 2026

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

I use Chameleon to make it much easier for our users to get up to speed with our software and actually get the most out of it. With Chameleon, I can create interactive product tours, helpful tooltips, and in-app messages that guide users step by step, right when they need it. This really helps new users understand features quickly, complete tasks correctly, and avoids unnecessary confusion or frustration. I also use it to highlight new features or updates, which encourages adoption and ensures users don’t miss important changes. The analytics are a big plus too, because they show how users are engaging with the guides and help me see where extra support might be needed. Overall, Chameleon makes the experience smoother, learning faster, and helps everyone use the software more effectively.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

While I find Chameleon really useful, there are a few areas where it could be better. Creating complex or highly customized tours can sometimes take quite a bit of time, especially when trying to cover different user scenarios or multiple product versions. The analytics are helpful, but I wish they offered more detailed, granular insights so I could better understand user behavior and know exactly where improvements are needed. Managing and updating a large number of guides can also feel a bit cumbersome as the product evolves.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Chameleon to simplify user onboarding and guidance, reducing confusion and support requests. It enables step-by-step guides within the app, improving learning and feature adoption. The analytics help me identify where users struggle, allowing for better guidance and a smoother user experience.

  ### 13. Effortless In-App Guidance, Slight Learning Curve

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Harsh M. | SEO Analyst, Financial Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 13, 2026

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

I use Chameleon to create in-app onboarding and guidance, like product tours, tooltips, and announcements, which helps drive feature adoption and improve the user experience by delivering contextual messages at the right time. I like how easy it is to build and launch polished in-app experiences quickly without relying on engineering. Beyond the core features, it works especially well for targeting the right users at the right moment and iterating quickly based on feedback, which makes experimentation and optimization much easier. It lets me tailor experiences to specific user behaviors and quickly refine messaging based on real usage and feedback, ensuring in-app guidance stays relevant and effective.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

Some advanced customizations and complex targeting can feel a bit limiting without developer involvement, and the learning curve is slightly steep at first. More flexible customization options without requiring custom code, along with clearer templates for complex use cases, would make advanced setups easier. Improving onboarding documentation and in-product guidance for power features could also help reduce the initial learning curve.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Chameleon to create in-app onboarding and guidance without engineering, reducing confusion and increasing feature adoption by delivering timely, contextual messages.

  ### 14. Best-in-class for in-app onboarding and PLG

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 20, 2025

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Chameleon makes it incredibly easy to design and launch in-app experiences for activation and onboarding. The UX is intuitive, the builder is flexible, and it’s simple to customize journeys without relying on engineering. I especially like the variety of patterns (tours, microsurveys, embeddables) and how well it handles dark/light themes out of the box. Integrations work smoothly and the product clearly improves at a fast, thoughtful pace.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

I’d love to see stronger analytics and more advanced ways to slice results, especially for filtering microsurvey responses by user traits. Localization support for tooltip labels is another gap. These are refinements rather than dealbreakers — overall it’s still a standout tool for in-app experiences.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Chameleon to power our in-app onboarding, which has helped increase user activation and improve retention by guiding new users to value faster. It’s also a core part of our product-led growth strategy, enabling targeted upsell and cross-sell experiences directly inside the product. We rely on it for launch and feature announcements as well — the lightweight, no-code approach lets us move quickly without waiting on engineering or release cycles. I’ve also been particularly impressed by the interactive demo feature, which saves us both time and money by replacing experiences we previously had to outsource to a third-party agency.

  ### 15. Game-Changer for User Onboarding, Stellar Flexibility

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sarki J.

**Reviewed Date:** January 27, 2026

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

I love Chameleon for its flexibility, allowing me to create custom flows without needing developers, which is a game-changer. It reduces support tickets significantly, meaning users get stuck less often, and my team can focus on more important tasks. Chameleon’s integration with our CRM, HubSpot, and analytics tool, Mixpanel, is smooth, making it easy to use alongside other tools. The UI is much more intuitive compared to our previous tool, WalkMe, and fits our budget better. The support team has been great, helping a lot, especially with the surprisingly smooth initial setup process, which took only a day thanks to their excellent docs and support.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

Analytics could be more robust 😕. Would love deeper insights into user behavior

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Chameleon to onboard users smoothly, which cuts down support tickets dramatically, letting our team focus on bigger issues.

  ### 16. Empowers User Engagement Without Dev Support

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Taiba B. | Email Marketing Associate, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 15, 2026

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

I like how easy it is to create in-app tours and banners without dev support with Chameleon. These features help us to move faster and let us launch onboarding flows in real time. It was fairly straightforward and quick to set up.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

Some features are slightly complex to set up initially while configuring targeting and custom triggers. There are limitations in deeper customization and analytics.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Chameleon helps us solve low feature adoption and user drop offs by guiding users inside the product with contextual tours and banners without dev support, allowing us to launch onboarding flows in real-time.

  ### 17. Intuitive UI, easy to use for beginners

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nancy L. | Senior product designer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 13, 2026

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

I really like how easy Chameleon is to use. It's visual, so we don't have to code it (and so there's less engineering overhead), and I can place it wherever I want. It's intuitive using the UI, and creating pop-ups is faster with it than us building those flows ourselves.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

It's like small details when I'm editing. Sometimes, I wish it'd be a little bit more flexible, like, if I add an image, I can't also add a tag. I can only add one image. And then, like, the placement of something is not as intuitive, but after using it, like, I get used to it, so it's not a huge deal.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Chameleon to introduce new features with pop-ups. It's intuitive and faster than manual coding.

  ### 18. Flexible and Supportive, But Needs Better User Tracking

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alan S. | Founding US Employee, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 07, 2026

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

I like Chameleon because it's quite flexible when creating in-app communication, including embedding content and branding for a white-labeled experience. It's also pretty user-friendly, and their support team is always available to help. The initial setup was very easy, especially with the help from their success team.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

Their user tracking is a bit lacking. For example, at first glance, you can not tell how many users click the hyperlinks in your tours or tooltips. Sometimes I struggle to understand how the numbers add up too. Better visuals into the user engagement would be nice. They show it as a flow or funnel right now, but it would be nice to choose how you want to visualize it.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Chameleon for product onboarding, feature adoption, and sales enablement, which helps with user adoption and generating upsell meetings. It also facilitates trial-to-paid conversion and user feedback collection.

  ### 19. Seamless Integration with User-Friendly Onboarding

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sivaguru Jeganatharaja J. | SYstem Engineer, Marketing and Advertising, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

I like the seamless integration that Chameleon offers with a wide variety of existing software stacks like CRM and ERP, which prevents data silos and allows information to flow freely across an organization. It helps eliminate data silos, enabling a unified 360-degree view of the customer, and automating workflows across departments. Its GUI is user-friendly, making the initial setup process straightforward and easy to complete.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

I don't like that there's no native mobile support, which is a significant drawback compared to some competitors. Users have expressed a desire for more out-of-the-box templates and greater flexibility in customizing certain elements. Some advanced customization may still require custom CSS.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Chameleon helps guide new users through onboarding, improving the likelihood of software adoption. Its seamless integration with CRM and ERP eliminates data silos, enabling a unified customer view and automating workflows across departments.

  ### 20. Intuitive, Adaptable, and Effortlessly Customizable

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 24, 2025

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Blends in with context: Much like its namesake, this product adapts smoothly to various environments and needs, rather than imposing a strict or inflexible workflow.

Clean, user-friendly design: The emphasis is on clarity and simplicity, making it easy to use without burdening users with unnecessary complexity.

Customization without friction: Adjusting its behavior or appearance is straightforward, with no complicated setup or steep learning curve required.

Feels intuitive: Most of the time, it simply feels natural to use, which helps save both time and mental energy.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

What I often find challenging about Chameleon stems from the trade-offs that accompany its flexibility. At times, it can feel somewhat vague—its high level of adaptability means it isn’t always opinionated, which can leave best practices or decision-making a bit unclear. While it performs well for standard use cases, its depth is limited in more advanced scenarios, and power users may encounter restrictions when seeking very detailed control. Additionally, some valuable features are not immediately apparent, requiring time to discover. The adaptability that makes Chameleon appealing can also result in occasional inconsistencies across different contexts. In summary, while its adaptability and ease of use are definite strengths, these qualities can sometimes come at the expense of clarity, depth, or consistent behavior.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In a rapidly changing product environment, new features can easily go unnoticed by both end users and administrators. Relying solely on release notes, emails, or support teams often falls short, as many users either overlook these communications or struggle to see how a new feature fits into their workflow.

Here’s how this benefits us:

With in-app feature discovery, we use Chameleon to highlight new features directly within the product at the most relevant moments. This allows users and admins to learn about updates without ever leaving the application.

Adoption of new functionality happens more quickly because users encounter guided prompts, tooltips, or walkthroughs, rather than having to figure things out on their own.

Providing clear in-app guidance also reduces the number of support queries and lessens our reliance on manual demos or extensive documentation.

We’re able to tailor communications by showing different announcements or guides to users and admins, ensuring each group only receives information that’s pertinent to them.

This approach creates a consistent rollout experience, so every user receives the same structured introduction to new features, which helps minimize confusion and misconfiguration.

Overall, Chameleon enables us to close the gap between releasing new features and ensuring that both users and administrators actually benefit from them.

  ### 21. Powerful In-App Guidance with a Bit of a Learning Curve

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Abdul jalal A.

**Reviewed Date:** January 30, 2026

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

I use Chameleon to guide users inside our product with messages, tooltips, and onboarding messages. It helps me create in-app tooltips and onboarding messages that guide users, announce new features, and improve overall product engagement. What I like most about Chameleon is how easy it is to create in-app experiences like tooltips and announcements without needing a lot of engineering work. The initial setup was smooth, and Chameleon is powerful for in-app guidance and feature adoption.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

Some advanced features can take time to learn and setting up more complex flows isn't always intuitive at first. There's a slight learning curve for more advanced functionality.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Chameleon to guide users with in-app tooltips and announcements, enhancing feature engagement and understanding. It's easy to create experiences without much engineering effort.

  ### 22. Flexible and Insightful, But Challenging to Onboard

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David A. | Director of Product Marketing

**Reviewed Date:** December 17, 2025

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

I love Chameleon's flexibility of use and its applicability to just about any instance of our product, especially for onboarding. I value the segmentation tool to very narrowly target our audiences and serve up experiences that are catered to their needs. Additionally, I love that Chameleon gives us really good data back on how people are going through our walkthrough experiences, which informs our customer service team on how to provide better support. We also switched from another product because Chameleon had more use in terms of application to our product, and we preferred the pricing model and felt that the segmentation was stronger.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

It can be a little challenging to onboard new folks on Chameleon because it is a complex, rich system. I've done a lot of the trainings myself internally. Having a sort of training database or an onboarding step-by-step system with modules and training courses would be great. I would rate the initial setup a three out of five. It was a little challenging to get it pointed at our domains and built in with our IT and infrastructure teams.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Chameleon for walkthroughs and tooltips in our dynamic K-12 education products, helping explain curriculums pedagogically and technologically. It enables users to self-serve with a complete demo experience.

  ### 23. Powerful go-to-market tool to customize announcements and product tours

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 24, 2026

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

The ability to customize how we announce new features, guide users through product tours, and introduce in-product surveys makes this a really valuable tool for bringing products to market.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

There's a lot of features and capabilities - building a strategy around what to leverage can be a little overwhelming.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

How do I announce a new feature to customers, how do I educate customers how to use the product, how do I get feedback on what's working/not working. It gives me the capabilities to see this through

  ### 24. Empowers Non-Developers with Ease of Use

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amber J. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 10, 2026

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

I like Chameleon for its ease of use, especially since I'm not technical. It allows me to create onboarding flows and deploy them in live environments with limited developer support. It's also very easy to set up.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

The navigation is a bit confusing. I think there could be better organization options for tooltips. I would prefer folders for tours. Labels are nice, but visually, it's hard to separate, and it would be nice to more easily see where tours are reused on different types of flows.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Chameleon for onboarding workflows, announcements, and tooltips. It solves easier communication and updates with customers.

  ### 25. Effortless User Acquisition with No-Code Simplicity

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sneha P.

**Reviewed Date:** December 25, 2025

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

I like using Chameleon for its ease of use, which makes it straightforward to manage pop-ups and capture new leads. It's also a great tool for no-code marketers to quickly enable pop-ups and surveys.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

I would like more drag and drop design options that align with brand guidelines to offer a more modern look than the current standard template. Having additional design elements that are easy to use would also help avoid design dependency on the team's end, improving productivity for marketers.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Chameleon for pop-ups to capture new leads and push app downloads, helping to bring in users before they need to log in and capturing their emails for CRM outreach.

  ### 26. We use it to guide users inside the product without building everything from scratch

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sophie L. | Operations Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 15, 2026

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

What I like most is how easy it is to add product tours and in app messages without touching much code. We use it mainly for onboarding new users and announcing feature updates. The editor is flexible enough to match our product UI and it does not feel intrusive for users when flows are set up properly.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

Some advanced customizations need developer help which slows things down. The interface also takes time to fully understand when you start using multiple experiences.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Chameleon solves the problem of explaining features inside the product instead of through emails or calls. Earlier many users missed features or asked the same questions repeatedly. Now we guide them step by step in the app which reduces support tickets and helps users reach value faster.

  ### 27. Chameleon: Versatile Design and Seamless Integration

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Arbeen A.

**Reviewed Date:** January 17, 2026

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

I really like how Chameleon is a brand that lives up to its name with designs that feel fresh and versatile, adapting effortlessly to different styles and moods. The quality stands out as well-made and comfortable, crafted with attention to detail. The balance between trend and simplicity makes its pieces easy to wear for both casual and styled looks. I also appreciate its design and how it integrates with various tools to enhance in-app experiences and user data management, connecting with analytics platforms, CRMs, customer data platforms, and communication tools. The initial setup was great.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

Nothing

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Chameleon for feature adoption and education, user onboarding, and training. It integrates with analytics platforms, CRMs, CDPs, and communication tools, enhancing in-app experiences and user data management.

  ### 28. Microsurveys: Easy to Use and Up and Running in Minutes

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jo A. | Sr. Experience Research Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 19, 2026

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

I really love how easy Microsurveys are to use. It doesn’t take weeks of training... you can get one up and running in just minutes!

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

There are some places where I feel the UI is disjointed or hard to find, but these instances are minimal.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My team is currently using Chameleon to run a bi-annual NPS survey on all of our domains.

  ### 29. A reliable and innovative platform for user onboarding and engagement

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alyssa M. | Brand Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 18, 2025

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Chameleon makes it easy to create interactive product tours, pop-ups, and in-app experiences without heavy development work. The platform is intuitive, flexible, and offers a wide variety of features that allow us to tailor onboarding and messaging directly within our app. Their customer support is excellent—responsive, knowledgeable, and always eager to help. I also appreciate that Chameleon continually launches new features and provides valuable resources, like their yearly benchmark report, which gives us actionable insights to improve how we engage with users.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

Segmentation and company property filtering could be more robust, as it sometimes feels limiting when creating very specific targeting rules. Tours can also occasionally break if an element is missing or changed in the app, which requires additional monitoring and adjustments. These aren’t dealbreakers, but improvements in stability and more advanced segmentation options would make the platform even more powerful.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Chameleon helps us onboard new users, announce product updates, and guide customers through key workflows directly inside our app. Before Chameleon, these experiences had to be built with custom coding, which took up valuable developer time and pulled focus away from core product work. Now, our team can quickly launch tours, pop-ups, and tooltips without engineering overhead, which saves time, reduces support tickets, and drives better product adoption. The data and reporting also help us refine experiences and make smarter decisions for user success.

  ### 30. Intuitive Customization for Effective User Engagement

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Priyesh J.

**Reviewed Date:** October 30, 2025

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

I appreciate using Chameleon for the past six months because it has been quite helpful due to our need to display a lot of widgets, enhancing user experience. The transition from our previous solution, AppQueues, was seamless, thanks to Chameleon's impressive customization capabilities. This customization allows us to tailor the tool to our needs, such as placement of tool types, selecting routes on a website, and accommodating user IDs. The intuitive design and preview feature before setup significantly streamlined the implementation process, making it easy and efficient. Chameleon is not only reliable but also adapts to our additional third-party requirements while supporting our existing features without issues. Overall, its robust set of features and customizability help us in optimizing user interactions effectively, and thus, I plan to continue using it as it fulfills our organizational objectives effectively.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

Nothing much to be honest

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I find Chameleon very helpful for showing widgets and customize existing and third-party features, improving user experience and process efficiency with intuitive setup.

  ### 31. Integrates Seamlessly for Effective Onboarding

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 13, 2026

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

I use Chameleon for our onboarding needs, and I find it valuable because it's wonderful for integration. I am able to basically integrate it with our other software to help our systems function. During the new hire process, Chameleon decodes specific tasks and explains them to our onboarders, which is a huge help. I also utilize Chameleon's overlays, which really support the onboarding process by taking work off additional staff members. This reduces the need for different staff from the organization to train new hires, as Chameleon provides a consistent explanation to each new hire. I also really love how Chameleon integrates seamlessly with BambooHR, as it helps generate job descriptions and put those into step-by-step actions that new hires can follow.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

I don't dislike anything about Chameleon, and highly recommend it to any small business navigating staffing/HR.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Chameleon for onboarding, integrating it with other software to help systems function. It decodes and explains tasks to new hires, removing the need for extra staff, ensuring consistency, and laying out job descriptions step by step.

  ### 32. Chameleon's features are SOLID

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tommy D. | Project Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 28, 2025

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

What really sets Chameleon apart is how effortlessly it lets you build personalized in-app experiences—think tooltips, product tours, checklists—without needing to ping your dev team every time you want to tweak something. For anyone in product, growth, or customer success, that’s a huge win.

It’s super intuitive (yes, even for the non-technical crowd), and the drag-and-drop editor feels modern and snappy. I especially love the targeting capabilities—you can segment users based on behavior or lifecycle stage and then deliver exactly the right message at the right time. No more one-size-fits-all onboarding.

Chameleon has become a core part of how we guide users, roll out new features, and drive adoption. It's like having a Swiss Army knife for in-app communication—versatile, sleek, and genuinely useful.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

As much as I love what Chameleon enables, it’s not without its friction points.

The biggest one? The learning curve. While the builder is powerful, it can feel a bit overwhelming at first—especially if you’re new to in-product tools or don’t have prior experience with things like CSS selectors. You can get the hang of it, but be prepared to invest some upfront time figuring out how everything connects.

Another pain point is performance on complex apps—if your app is super dynamic or heavily reliant on modals and SPAs, getting experiences to load smoothly (and in the right place) sometimes takes a bit of trial and error. Their support is helpful, but it's not always instant, which can slow things down when you're trying to move fast.

Also, pricing might be a barrier for early-stage startups. It’s not outrageous, but once you start scaling usage across multiple environments or teams, costs can climb faster than expected.

All that said, none of these are deal-breakers—but they’re definitely things to be aware of before diving in.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Chameleon is helping us bridge the gap between product updates and user adoption—without having to rely on constant engineering cycles. The core problem it's solving is making onboarding and feature discovery more intuitive inside the product, so users can get value faster and stay engaged longer.

Before Chameleon, we were sending emails and crossing our fingers. Now, we can launch contextual tours, in-app tooltips, and surveys exactly where and when they make sense—whether that’s guiding new users, announcing features, or gathering real-time feedback.

The biggest benefit? We can experiment fast. Our product and growth teams can ship and iterate on experiences without pulling in devs each time. It’s unlocked a more agile, user-centered approach to engagement—and it's made a measurable impact on activation and retention.

Chameleon helps us meet users where they are, and honestly, that’s become essential.

**Official Response from Pulkit Agrawal:**

> Thanks for this incredibly thoughtful review! 🙌 Love hearing that Chameleon has become your "Swiss Army knife for in-app communication"—that's exactly what we're going for.

Appreciate the constructive feedback; those are certainly topics we're looking to improve:

- Learning curve: we're working on more "automated" Experiences that leverage your styles and best practices, so you have to do less manual building, and can do more refining/tweaking as needed

- Performance on complex apps: performance has been a big effort over the last 6 months and we're hopeful you'll see benefits going forward. One feature we're currently exploring are "account-wide element rules" that can enable you to avoid conflicts.

- Support speed: all our support is technical and generally we've tried to speed this up and enable more self-service. More coming soon, but I'd love to chat about any recent experiences where we fell short.

- Pricing for startups: this unfortunately hasn't been a focus for us recently and we've kept the price the same for many years, even with a much more sophisticated and advanced product. However our Growth and Enterprise plans are flexible and scale well!

Really appreciate you taking the time to write such a detailed review. Reach out anytime at pulkit@chameleon.io if you want to discuss any of these improvements!

  ### 33. A tool for engaging users and getting actionable insights

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Daniel J. | Senior Product Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 13, 2025

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

I love the builder for microsurveys,it’s intuitive, flexible, and lets me launch feedback campaigns in minutes without needing engineering support. Their analytics and feedback dashboards give clear insights into user behavior and sentiment, making it easier to prioritize product decisions. The segmentation options are a huge plus for targeting the right audience at the right time.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

The user experience can feel a bit clunky at times, especially when navigating between different sections of the dashboard. There’s room to make the interface more seamless and reduce the number of clicks needed to set up or edit experiences.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Chameleon helps us talk to our users right inside our product instead of relying on email or outside surveys. We use it for quick microsurveys to understand what users think in the moment, and for in-app guides and tours to walk new users through key features.

  ### 34. All in one simple tool for onboarding and resources

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sharon J. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 06, 2024

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Chameleon has improved a lot since then, now they have interactive demo options, which helps us to create demos that actually converts. Also the AI helps a lot in creating demos easily.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

Only the pricing is the only issue so far, the product works great!

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have to educate our new users about our platform, and how they can get started, what they can do, what they need to do, etc. So for this, we use chameleon to set up product tours on our product, and the thing is, it's super easy to create and configure product tours. And other ways we use chameleon to get feedbacks from users using Surveys, and giving announcements inside the product. We didn't had in-app search previously, but chameleon let's us set up in-app search without writing a single line of code which is great.

Their customer service is amazing - it feels like a super small team. Very thorough, incredibly quick response times, and the ability to video call live to troubleshoot if it can't be solved over email / more complex use cases.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

Like any find and replace tool, sometimes it's tough to troubleshoot certain elements or containers. Thankfully the customer support team makes up for it. Shout out Amanda and Krista!

Fast turn in-app product demos & marketing messages to user segments

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Teaching users educational blurps in the right context and time

  ### 38. CHAMELEON PRINCIPALS

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jeffrey K. | VICE PRESIDENT OF HUMAN RESOURCES, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 19, 2026

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

IT IS A NO/LOW-CODE SOLUTION, ALLOWING ALMOST ANYONE TO MAKE CHANGES WITHOUT TECHNICAL SKILLS.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

THERE CAN BE SOFTWARE BUGS THAT AFFECT THE PLATFORM'S USABILITY.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CHAMELEON IS EASY TO USE AND INTEGRATE STREAMLINING SUPPORT AND ENHANCING SELF-HELP OPTIONS.

  ### 39. Great 3rd party tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Broadcast Media | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 15, 2025

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Chameleon allows us to easily add temporary or permanent buttons and icons to our software to improve customer satisfaction and ease of use. We also are able to collect data on this satisfaction and use this as a KPI in QBRs.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

No complaints !

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have icons that users can hover over to get more information about the platform, and we use it to allow users to contact our support desk directly from inside the platform. We send out platform wide updates and notifications and also collect satisfaction data and feedback on the platform.

  ### 40. A clean, low-effort solution to reaching customers in-app

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 20, 2024

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Chameleon is a lot more accessible than its competitors. We use it for a lot of use cases, but my favorite is as a way to collect super quick feedback at scale via Microsurveys. It takes minutes to set up, customize, and target your ideal audience. It integrated cleanly with Amplitude, which makes segmenting really easy, and it's allowed us to action on feedback way faster and more confidently than before.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

While I love the Microsurvey feature, I find its customization to be a bit limited. I'd like the feature to flesh out more survey question and formatting options in order to ask more precise questions. I'd also like to see more customizable dashboards and visualizations of the data that comes in. I currently have to rely on CSV exports to glean the most, but it would be great to have this be automated.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's helping us reach relevant users at precise points in the experience. For my team, it makes it easy to collect data and engage customers effectively and in the right context.

**Official Response from Sonia Schiau:**

> Thank you for your thoughtful review! We're really glad to hear you're finding Chameleon user-friendly and efficient to drive fast results 🙏

We hope the latest update to Microsurveys, enabling you to mix and match 3 questions, gives you more flexibility when collecting feedback (https://www.chameleon.io/whats-new/multi-question-microsurveys). This update also came with new ways to visualize data over time (e.g., NPS score or based on a specific answer. We continue to improve how you can review data to help you maximize the insights you get. If you have any specific ideas or use cases in mind, we'd love to hear them!

Thanks again for sharing your thoughts—it helps us get better.

  ### 41. Easy to set up and use

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Accounting

**Reviewed Date:** October 23, 2025

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

The product is very easy to set up and integrate with our Next.js app. We specifically chose it because we wanted something that we can easily control outside of the app, and Chameleon's extension is super easy to use even if you are not technical.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

It would be helpful to have some more integrations (we use Posthog) + sometimes the product can be a bit buggy (I frequently get alerts for the "missing element" even when everything seems alright). These are things are pretty minor though and overall I'm very happy with the experience!

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are prompting our self-serve sign up users with tours.

  ### 42. Effortless Announcements and Walkthroughs for Users

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Real Estate | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

I use this tool to quickly create announcements and walkthroughs for the end users of our product. It helps streamline communication and makes it easier to guide users through new features or updates.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

It takes a bit of time to become comfortable using it. There are still some processes I need to learn more about in order to accomplish what I want.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This tool helps cut down the time needed to develop user walkthroughs for new features, announce scheduled maintenance, and add quick tool-tips or help guides within the product.

  ### 43. HelpBar Keeps Getting Better as Our Knowledge Base Grows

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 17, 2026

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

As our knowledge base continues to grow, the HelpBar’s results keep improving, allowing more clients to self-serve and resolve their support needs.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

Reporting on HelpBar’s performance is currently a manual process, as it requires exporting CSV files to pull the data and review results. While the data is valuable, this is a bit cumbersome.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Through a native integration with our CRM, Chameleon enables us to communicate efficiently with dynamic segments of our customer base.

  ### 44. Chameleon

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bea Patricia P. | Senior support specialist II, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 26, 2025

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

I like how intuitive and flexible Chameleon is. It allows us to create customized in-app experiences without needing heavy development work, which helps us guide users more effectively.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

Sometimes the setup and customization options can feel a little complex at first, and it takes time to fully understand all the features

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Chameleon helps us onboard new users faster and more smoothly, which improves adoption and retention

  ### 45. Intuitive and easy to use tool!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 23, 2025

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Chameleon offers many features that allow you to create a seamless user experience in your app with very little effort. I really like how easy it is to customise many aspects of the tool which help me to update users on new platform updates, notifications of downtime or other product notices and create detailed product tours.

The data and insights available have allowed me to improve notifications and product information so that it is more engaging for users.

I use the tool approximately once or twice a month now, having set up all of the key components over a year and a half ago. Making any edits or changes is effortless!

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

We have had a few challenges with our tooltips and we have not been able to stop the tooltip appearing through a side menu which has opened on top of the tool tip which is quite frustrating.

This is very minor, and to resolve this requires an extra feature which my company have decided not to purchase, however, I do not like the log-on feature of being emailed a magic link, I feel as though it disrupts my work flow having to open a new window.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Chameleon to notify users of product updates, downtime, tool tips for greater product insight and it's product tour feature to reduce the requirement for live-demos. This has reduced the demand for customer support, made the customer experience feel more cohesive and the tool has integrated fairly seamlessly.

**Official Response from Pulkit Agrawal:**

> Love that you've been getting value from Chameleon for 1.5+ years! 🎉 The fact that editing is "effortless" after your initial setup is music to our ears.

Quick fixes for your pain points:

- Tooltip z-index issue: I'm sure we can add some support from our back-end for this; can you email us at help@chameleon.io with specific details and mention this review/me and we can see what we can do?

- Magic link login: Do you use Google Workspace, and can you use it to authenticate? We think magic link and OAuth is safer than passwords. We also support other providers (e.g. Okta) but requires a paid add-on.

Thanks for sticking with us and for the honest feedback. Feel free to email me (pulkit at chameleon dot io) or LinkedIn DM me anytime!

  ### 46. Effortless User Experience Creation Without Production Delays

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 26, 2025

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

I'm able to build user experiences without the need for costly and lengthy production releases.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

I had a steep learning curve for the Builder tool, which is how you create experiences within your app.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can reach out to my customers about new features or product releases without creating more work for our development team.

  ### 47. A pretty intuitive experience that could still use user-experience improvements

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Petteri J. | Head of Growth Marketing, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 04, 2024

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

The speed at which audiences are processed is excellent, no need to wait around and every tour is triggered as intended.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

There have been a few UI fixes, but most of the issues still remain. For example: not having the capability to open audiences in a new tab makes editing multiple audiences quite cumbersome (since you need to search first, then open audience, make edits and save, go back and redo all the previous steps).

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Chameleon helps us promote new features, run marketing activations, and create onboarding flows for new users.

**Official Response from Pulkit Agrawal:**

> Glad to hear the audience processing speed is hitting the mark! ⚡

I totally feel your pain and frustration around the Audience UI; we have some ideas for how to solve this and will look to tackle a few problems and make improvements soon!

Pls do feel free to email me (pulkit at chameleon dot io) for anything else!

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

I like its versatility. We use it both for publishing onboarding flows, new product releases, and informational banners, AND for collecting CSAT data. CSAT data is pretty easily integrated into other softwares like Slack and Google Sheets.

Implementation was pretty easy to set up, customer support has been quick and easy to access, and generally it's pretty easy to use.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

The UI can be a bit buggy, you have to remember to click "Apply Changes" otherwise your changes won't be published.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We release a lot of new features, and Chameleon is our in-product marketing tool. We also use it to collect CSAT data.

**Official Response from Pulkit Agrawal:**

> Thanks for the 5 stars! 🌟 Love that you're getting double value from both the marketing flows AND CSAT collection—that versatility is something we're really proud of.

The "Apply Changes" thing is a classic gotcha but needed to prevent accidentally updating something Live when unintended. We should make it clearer that an Experience needs to be re-published though, so we'll find a way to make that clearer!

Appreciate you taking the time to review, and thanks for being a power user across multiple use cases!

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Chameleon is easy to use for the most basic functionality but also has the potential to do very complicated and custom things. It allows people with little technical knowledge to use the program while enabling power users to do much more. They have done an outstanding job of continuing to grow their related functionality.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

The Chameleon dashboard can be a little confusing as they ship changes. Generally, these changes are going to improve the software in the long run but the interim points where the UX is mismatched can make it confusing.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Chameleon allows me to build self-serve experiences quickly and efficiently without having to involve my development teams. The ability to iterate on experiences allows me to test things with confidence that I can experiment and play around freely.
