Is Zoho CRM really free?
Hi all,
Opening a discussion around top-rated tools for email tracking, especially platforms that help marketing teams see opens, clicks, replies, and attachment activity across multi-step campaigns. Curious which solutions actually deliver a great experience for both campaign managers and ops.
Here are five platforms frequently mentioned in the space:
- HubSpot Sales Hub – Combines CRM + engagement with robust email tracking and sequences. For campaign teams already in HubSpot, does the native tracking (opens/clicks/attachments) make reporting and handoffs to sales smoother?
- Instantly – Popular with outbound teams for scale and deliverability tooling, plus granular tracking. For marketing-led outbound, is Instantly’s tracking depth (across large sends) giving you a clearer signal on offer/channel fit?
- Brevo Marketing Platform – All-in-one marketing suite with campaign analytics and email tracking baked in. For lifecycle marketers, is Brevo’s tracking enough to drive experiments without exporting to a BI tool?
- Mixmax – Inbox-native engagement with strong tracking, scheduling, and sequencing. If your marketers run ABM from Gmail, does Mixmax’s real-time tracking improve reply rates and speed up follow-ups?
- GMass – Gmail-based bulk campaigns with opens/clicks/response tracking. For lean teams, is GMass giving you the right mix of simplicity + analytics for quick iteration on subject lines and CTAs?
Would love feedback from teams using any of these platforms:
- Which tool produced the most reliable tracking across larger sends (and how did it handle no-click opens and privacy-protected mail clients)?
- How was the implementation and time to value for your stack?
- Any unexpected advantages (or pain points) around attribution, API access, or connecting results back to your CRM?

This is an interesting question because email tools can fall into two categories - CRM or stand alone email tools.
When it comes to CRM - we use Salesforce Pardot or whatever they are calling it when you read this thread, but it's a decent tool with some basic functionality. I would not recommend this unless you are stuck with it. HubSpot by far and away is the way to go - super easy to use, clean UI, tons of functionality, AI integrations and built with marketers in mind.
For stand alone tools, I have used customer.io, mailchimp and constant contact. Constant contact is easy to use but presents limited analytics capabilities and hence not recommended. From that perspective, Mailchimp is the best option. While in my opinion, pricing is slightly on the higher side, it's features, support, and continuous feature improvements make it worth the while.
I found HubSpot as the best email marketing and tracking tool so far after trying Zoho Mail and MailChimp. It is a centralised platform, offers all the necessary features for effective email marketing. It gives insights that are crucial for email campaigns. It has been ranked among the best software on G2 as well.
