“Synchronized security is a game changer.”
What do you like best about Sophos Firewall?

The level of network visibility and the implementation of the Xstream architecture stand out immediately. Having the Xstream Deep packet inspection DPI engine handle AV, IPS, Web Filtering, and app control in a streamlined architecture keeps throughput high even under heavy loads and heavy TLS 1 .3 inspection. From an administrator's daily workflow, synchronized security is a game-changer. The way the firewall communicates directly with endpoint agents to share health heartbeats and automatically isolate compromised machines cuts down incident response times significantly. Additionally, managing multiple distributed appliances through sophos central simplifies everything from firmware pushes backups to group rule management. The built-in SD-WAN orchestration and multi-path performance routing have also made multi-branch connectivity much more reliable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sophos Firewall?

The unified policy paradigm-while powerful once you get used to it-takes some time to master if you are migrating over from traditional zone-and-rule firewalls like Cisco ASA or FortiGate. Finding specific NAT configurations embedded within or alongside standard firewall rules can feel slightly non-intuitive during the initial setup phase. Furthermore, initial fine-tuning of deep TLS decryption policies requires careful exception-building to prevent breaking internal web apps or line-of-business software, though the built-in pre-packaged exception lists help mitigate this. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Sophos Firewall solving and how is that benefiting you?

we primarily use it for perimeter defense, secure site-to-site SD-WAN mesh connectivity, and granular user-based application access control. it has solved issues regarding shadow IT Visibility and encrypted threat blind spots. The automation features-such as active threat response tied back to endpoint logs-have lifted a heavy operational burden off our lean IT Security team. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

“Generation Firewalls”
What do you like best about Check Point Next Generation Firewalls (NGFWs)?

From what I've learned, the best aspects of Check Point Next Generation Firewalls (NGFWs) are their comprehensive security features, including intrusion prevention, application control, threat prevention, and secure VPN capabilities. They also have a centralised management console that makes it easier to configure and monitor network security across an organisation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Check Point Next Generation Firewalls (NGFWs)?

Based on what I've read and learned, some users mention that the initial setup can be complex for beginners, and the large number of security features may require time to learn. Some organisations also feel that licensing and advanced features can be expensive compared with other firewall solutions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Check Point Next Generation Firewalls (NGFWs) solving and how is that benefiting you?

Based on my learning and cybersecurity studies, Check Point Next Generation Firewalls (NGFWs) help solve common network security challenges such as preventing unauthorised access, blocking malware and ransomware, detecting intrusion attempts, and controlling application usage. These capabilities help organisations strengthen their overall security, reduce cyber risks, and maintain a more secure and reliable network environment. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

“Remote Studio Access Made Easy - Occasional Manual Reconnects”
What do you like best about Zscaler Internet Access?

I'm not an admin, just a regular user, but Zscaler has honestly changed how my team plans video shoots. We use it to connect to wifi-enabled devices in our video production studio, stuff that's only accessible on the local network. Because it puts all our devices on the same network even when we're fully remote, we can adjust lighting and update TV content through BrightSign's BrightAuthor Connected without anyone needing to physically be in the studio. That's saved us real money too, since we're not paying for separate cloud subscriptions just to get remote access to gear that should just be reachable over the network anyway. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Zscaler Internet Access?

Really the only thing I've run into is having to reconnect manually every once in a while. It's not a big deal, just a small hiccup compared to how much time and money it's saved us on the remote studio access side. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Zscaler Internet Access solving and how is that benefiting you?

Before this setup, if we wanted to control anything in our video production studio remotely, like lighting or the TVs running BrightSign, we'd have needed separate cloud subscriptions for each piece of gear, or we'd have had to physically be on-site just to make an update. Zscaler solves that by putting all our studio devices on the same network as us even when the team is fully remote. That means we can prep and adjust shoots ahead of time from anywhere, without paying for extra subscriptions or waiting until someone's in the studio to make a change. “The Best Network Monitoring Software”
What do you like best about GlassWire Firewall?

The best thing about Glasswire is that it is very easy to use and it has more user-friendly interfaces. So we can monitor our network usage by just looking at the "Graph" or "Usage Details" interface. In the free version, we can monitor our data usage in the last 5 minutes, 3 hours, or 24 hours. What do you dislike about GlassWire Firewall?

Nothing special. Actually, I'm very satisfied with GassWire. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is GlassWire Firewall solving and how is that benefiting you?

So basically, I use GlassWire to monitor my network usage. I have limited internet connection. So I need to manage my data package for the entire month. By using GlassWire, I can get an overall idea about which apps on my laptop use more data and, according to that, adjust their usage. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

“All-in-One WatchGuard Security Platform That Saves Admin Time”
What do you like best about WatchGuard Network Security?

WatchGuard Network Security offers an all-in-one solution that includes Firebox firewalls, Endpoint Security, and Multi-Factor Authentication (AuthPoint). All those are monitored / maintained / managed in a single platform providing a unique experience to the admins handling the platform. The integration exceeded our expectations and has helped us save a lot of time by having it all together and not spread in different platforms. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about WatchGuard Network Security?

We see that integrations with other platforms are in beta testing at the time and will be available very soon, but we are missing (do not see it as being tested yet) and would benefit from an integration with the Microsoft 365 platform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is WatchGuard Network Security solving and how is that benefiting you?

The WatchGuard Network Security components (Firebox Firewalls, Endpoint Security and Authpoint) are our main solution for keeping our company safe from all the security threats out there. Having an all-in-one solution for that is helping us save both time in maintaining the plaform (compared to maintaining multiple platforms) and money as purchasing several different solutions would cost much more. What I like most about Check Point Cloud Firewall (formerly CloudGuard Network Security) is the combination of comprehensive cloud security, advanced threat prevention, and centralized policy management. It delivers reliable protection across different cloud environments while also simplifying how security policies are created and maintained. Overall, it helps organizations keep a strong security posture without adding unnecessary operational complexity. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Check Point Cloud Firewall (formerly CloudGuard Network Security)?

The initial setup and configuration can feel complex, and some of the more advanced features come with a learning curve. On top of that, the licensing costs may be high for smaller organizations, and the management interface could be more intuitive and easier to navigate. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Check Point Cloud Firewall (formerly CloudGuard Network Security) solving and how is that benefiting you?

Check Point Cloud Firewall (formerly CloudGuard Network Security) helps secure cloud workloads by preventing cyber threats, enforcing consistent security policies, and protecting network traffic across cloud environments. “Enterprise-Level Firewall at a Great Value, with Unmatched Barracuda Support”
What do you like best about Barracuda CloudGen Firewall?

It is an enterprise level firewall at less than an enterprise cost. I would put them next to Cisco or Juniper any day. They are functional, reliable, quick, and the support from Barracuda is second to NONE. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Barracuda CloudGen Firewall?

Nothing. I mean they could cost less, but you get what you pay for at the end of the day and when you are protecting a company from people doing things they shouldn't have to do, cost starts to become not as relevant. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Barracuda CloudGen Firewall solving and how is that benefiting you?

It is securing internet access for our whole agency. We use small firewalls at small facilities to build VPN tunnels back to the main facility. The original problem it solved was an inherent ACL in a Cisco ASA that I needed around for a specific purpose and Cisco was unwilling to do anything to make it work. Barracuda, I could do it out of the box... and that was the old X series firewalls. The cloudgens are light years ahead of them when they stopped making the X's. “Easy Virtual Deployment and a User-Friendly, Responsive Interface”
What do you like best about FortiGate-VM NGFW?

What I like best about FortiGate-VM NGFW is how easy it is to deploy in virtual environments. The setup process is straightforward, and routing configuration is simple and clear compared to other firewalls I’ve used. The user interface is very user-friendly and responsive, which makes daily management and policy changes much faster and less complicated. FortiGate-VM NGFW works well with other tools in our environment. We use it alongside Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Sentinel, and Fortinet FortiAnalyzer. The integration is smooth, especially with logging and monitoring tools, which helps us centralize security visibility and manage policies more efficiently. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about FortiGate-VM NGFW?

One thing I dislike is that the HA setup can be a bit complicated, especially when configuring it for the first time in a virtual environment. Some advanced features also take time to fully understand. Additionally, the licensing and feature activation process could be more straightforward, and the documentation for certain HA and virtual deployment scenarios is not always clear enough. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is FortiGate-VM NGFW solving and how is that benefiting you?

FortiGate-VM NGFW helps us secure our virtual and cloud environments by providing strong firewall protection, intrusion prevention, and traffic control. It solves the problem of managing security across different virtual infrastructures in a simple way. The main benefit is better network security with easier policy management and good performance, which gives us more confidence in protecting our systems without needing complex physical hardware. I like how easy it was to use Cloudflare One (SASE) and create a site with Claude AI. It's very convenient to set up GA4 integration and Tag Manager. It's also very cool that there's a good free version available. The integrations and ease of setup are standout features for me. Buying a domain was effortless using Cloudflare. What do you like best about Avast Small Business Cybersecurity?

I appreciate how lightweight it feels on the system. In my experience, it provides strong protection against malware and ransomware without noticeably slowing down users’ computers, which is important in day-to-day work environments. The real-time threat detection and automatic updates give peace of mind, especially for teams that don’t have a dedicated security specialist constantly monitoring threats.

is how easy it is to deploy and manage across multiple devices without adding unnecessary complexity. The central management console is intuitive, which makes it simple to monitor endpoints, apply policies, and review security alerts in one place. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Avast Small Business Cybersecurity?

Occasionally, alerts may require manual review to determine their real impact, which can add extra steps to the workflow.

That said, these limitations are relatively minor and can usually be managed with proper configuration and familiarity with the platform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Avast Small Business Cybersecurity solving and how is that benefiting you?

It helps me stay protected from malware, viruses, and suspicious files without having to think about it all the time. I don’t need to constantly check settings or worry if my computer is exposed, because it runs in the background and does its job.

“Unmatched Visibility and Control with Palo Alto Networks Next-Generation Firewalls”
What do you like best about Palo Alto Networks Cloud NGFW?

What I like best about Palo Alto Networks Next-Generation Firewalls is the level of visibility and control they provide. App-ID, User-ID, and Content-ID make it possible to create policies based on applications, users, and risk rather than relying only on ports and IP addresses. I also value the integration of threat prevention, URL filtering, WildFire, and centralized management, which helps security teams detect threats faster and manage policies more consistently. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Palo Alto Networks Cloud NGFW?

What I dislike most about Palo Alto Networks Next-Generation Firewalls is the cost and complexity of licensing, especially when multiple security subscriptions are required. Initial deployment, policy optimization, and major software upgrades can also require significant planning and experienced administrators. Troubleshooting can sometimes be time-consuming, particularly in large environments with complex security policies and integrations Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Palo Alto Networks Cloud NGFW solving and how is that benefiting you?

Palo Alto Networks Next-Generation Firewalls help us address limited network visibility, unauthorized application usage, advanced threats, malicious web traffic, and inconsistent security policies. By combining application, user, and content-based controls with threat prevention, URL filtering, WildFire, and centralized management, they allow us to detect and block threats more effectively. “Complex Setup but Solid Performance”
What do you like best about Azure Firewall?

I find Azure Firewall helps us by being easy to connect and integrate within our environment. It feels much easier than the other options we've tried. Additionally, we are able to get beneficial support from the Azure team, which makes dealing with any integration load problems smoother. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Azure Firewall?

I'm not happy with the complexity involved when using Azure Firewall, especially when migrating. Also, there should be a feature to check if an app is blocked, and this should include a mailing mechanism. It would be better if there were no profile view, and it needs better integration with Outlook's backend. The initial setup wasn't very easy, requiring our team leaders to handle the integration. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Azure Firewall solving and how is that benefiting you?

“Flexible virtual firewall with strong security features”
What do you like best about Palo Alto Networks VM-Series Virtual Firewall?

The most helpful aspect of the VM-Series is its flexibility in virtualized environments. It allows us to enforce consistent security policies across multiple cloud and on-premises instances, giving strong visibility into traffic and applications. Automated threat detection and AI-driven alerts help us respond to incidents faster, reducing the time spent on manual monitoring. The integration with our existing cloud infrastructure has also simplified management and improved overall efficiency. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Palo Alto Networks VM-Series Virtual Firewall?

The initial deployment can be complex, especially when scaling across multiple virtual networks. Fine-tuning policies and integrating with other monitoring tools took longer than expected, requiring extra training for the team. Pricing can become significant as the number of virtual instances grows. While the firewall is powerful, the documentation could be more user-friendly for first-time administrators. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Palo Alto Networks VM-Series Virtual Firewall solving and how is that benefiting you?

The VM-Series Virtual Firewall has helped us centralize security across multiple virtualized environments, including cloud and on-premises workloads. Before using it, managing separate firewalls for each instance created inefficiencies and increased the risk of misconfigurations. Now we can enforce consistent policies, detect threats faster, and reduce manual monitoring. This has improved our incident response times and overall confidence in network security. However, setting up complex policies and integrating with existing monitoring tools still requires extra effort, and scaling the solution can increase costs. “Easy Setup, Reliable High Availability, Needs Better Hardware Performance on Entry Level Hardware”
What do you like best about Netgate pfSense?

I like that Netgate pfSense is easy to configure, making setup straightforward for both my team and clients. The tech support is great, which I find really helpful whenever issues arise. The High Availability (HA) feature works great for us, especially in our government client's networks. It's nice to be able to patch the firewalls during business hours, knowing that if one firewall fails, the second one will pick up without any interruption, and VPN access remains smooth. I also appreciate the better update cycles compared to FortiGate or Sonicwalls, as it seems there are fewer patch releases to deal with. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Netgate pfSense?
