The only reason this app remains installed on my desktop is that I am able to scan an image of a paper form (essentially a picture of a page), enter information into it and electronically sign it prior to sending via email. Before PDFelement I printed forms, filled them in by hand, took pictures using my smartphone and sent them as photos to myself (caveman). Now each month I complete a 4-page application related to insurance and I no longer have to print the application and manually write in information. It has also identified areas on forms that were previously unknown to me. Additionally, opening PDFelement is much quicker than my previous application and does not freeze or fail during use. Although I purchased a permanent license to PDFelement, it still prompts me to sign-in if I desire access to the more advanced features. In addition, the screen displays a notice in the upper-right-hand corner promoting an upgrade to the latest version and covers part of the Zoom control area. Although AI is offered as an optional feature, you receive a limited number of credits per month and after those credits are exhausted the feature will be grayed-out until the next month. I mostly use it to take plain text from scanned documents, rather than retyping everything. The OCR feature generally does a decent job identifying fonts (though I've seen some weird results). Anyway, Wondershare PDFelement allows me to modify PDF's as though they were Word docs., saving me from the hell of cutting/pasting. The Mac Version of Wondershare PDFelement is literally identical to the Windows version, but for absolutely no apparent reason. I despise when companies do things like that -- when I move between systems, my short cuts are always off. I think that the fact that Wondershare charges a monthly fee (subscription) is ridiculous - I'd rather pay one time and be done with it. If the scanned document is remotely blurry or otherwise distorted, the OCR will produce complete garbage and then I'll have to go through the process of fixing it myself. Wondershare pdfelement does exactly what I need. It allows me to merge PDFs that I receive as part of my diet plans & clinic records. It reduces file size so they will send via email without bouncing. The AI/Chat feature is fairly decent. I am able to ask it to provide summaries of lengthy Health Papers, which saves me time and effort reading 50+ pages of text when I am already tired. I dislike that the Free Version limits access to the AI features after a short amount of usage. It provides you with a "taste" and then blocks you. So annoying. Also when I attempt to load large PDF files they take an extremely long time to load. And when attempting to utilize the OCR Scanner on Arabic Text, it renders the formatting completely useless. I particularly appreciate the possibility to perform batch processing on various PDF documents that need the same treatment. The batch processing is very helpful in situations when it is required to handle numerous documents at once and when reports or records follow a similar format/template. Batching requires thorough file selection since performing some actions on the wrong set of documents would be useless and would lead to extra work. I like the functionality of PDFelement to compare two PDFs while analyzing revised drawings, procedures, or technical notes.
