"Wimba Create feels too old to be useful, but has its positive elements"

What do you like best about Wimba Create?

The idea of creating a word document and then it becoming something more interactive is a beneficial concept. People who are fearful of creating on the web will find peace in the idea of just making a word document, and it will magically become an interactive element on the web. The older generation may find this beneficial and "safe". However, there are much better apps and sites that do more with far-reaching possibilities than this. But then again, free is good too! What do you dislike about Wimba Create?

The concept of a word document turning into a web site with interactivity sounded cool to me. However, I quickly outgrew the functionality of the program. This is a program that could be a good starting point but for anyone who is iunterested in going even a tiny bit further than basic, this will get boring quickly. Recommendations to others considering Wimba Create:

This program does what it claims which is using as word document style to create web sites and interactivity. Its basic in design and flow and anyone who wants to go beyond that will find this too simple too quickly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Wimba Create solving and how is that benefiting you?

The good news is that I used this with both students and teachers and it is effective for those that only need or want the basics. Students of a young age found it useful and those teachers who did not want to invest much evergy into any one program were happy with what it could do. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Wimba Create?

I'm shocked that this one is being asked to be reviewed, as I know that Blackboard purchased it...anyhoo! I like that if offered student collaboration and a workplace to meet if in an online course! But now isn't it Blackboard Collaborate? Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Wimba Create?

The sound quality was not the best, and it looked really 1990s looking. The user interface wasn't very appealing to me. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Wimba Create:

Again, I was shocked that Wimba Create was being reviewed as I thought it was not called Blackboard Collaborate, but when I did use it was easy to use, and I enjoyed it for what it was. I didn't like the look, and it was hard to follow the chat, and to really know who had their hand raised. However, now that I have been using Blackboard Collaborate, these issues have seemed to worked themselves out. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Wimba Create?

I need help every year setting it up for my class, b/c it's not intuitive. A few of the grading tools are rather cumbersome and I've found other apps that work much better instead. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
