What do you dislike about WileyPLUS?

Recommendations to others considering WileyPLUS:

Get help from your Customer Success Rep to get your course set up to do the things you want to do. They are VERY helpful and knowledgeable. I usually want to have different options for the homework sets than what the default settings give, but couldn't figure out how to do that. My rep told me I just needed to make a copy of the assignment, then change the settings to what I wanted. Worked great!

Secondly, ask your students daily, at least at the beginning of the semester, about any problems they are having with getting access to the WileyPLUS course material. I had someone trying to access the old WileyPLUS system this year, but we had moved to the new WileyPLUS platform. Catching those types of difficult issues early on will help the students have a better experience, and make the best use of their time on the WileyPLUS platform.

Additionally, check in with your students to see if they need any extra help on the concepts. Most of the time, they do not, but every once in a while they have difficulty with a concept that we can clear up in just a few minutes of class time.

One last item: I like to work all the homework problems myself, just to make sure that I can cover any particularly difficult concepts before assigning that problem set to the students Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about WileyPLUS?

My favorite part of WileyPlus (WP) is the approach to learning. Our books help us visualize the content we study. Then our online homework pushes our understanding of the material to help us better understand the basics more. I have not experienced a consistent issue accessing the site (such as the site is down for maintenance excessively or is down with no explanation). I think both our customer success specialist and account manager are a part of Wiley Plus, so I do want to mention how much I appreciate their correspondence. They are always prompt, provide very detailed responses, are willing to have a phone call/whatever it takes to help me resolve an issue, and are always responding professionally. What do you dislike about WileyPLUS?

I do not like the inconsistency in how to provide an answer. Some problems ask to round to 1 decimal place, or 2, or 3... Some questions will only accept answers within 0.01 decimals after much calculation (finding estimated mean and then the standard deviation) where a slight rounding in calculation can change the result. Most of my problems with Wiley Plus have been students not reading instructions on homework assignments or my complaint above. Our student passing rate has gone up 20% since using Wily Plus. What do you like best about WileyPLUS?

The support staff. Each instructor has an assigned Customer Service Specialist who will help with simple tasks such as getting your course set up or complex things like transitions to new edition or upgrades. The 24-hour student online help is good for most student technical problems, but they never fail to surprise me with new ways they can mess up, so if they come to my office and I call the instructor-only technical help number, I have always gotten any problem resolved right then.

Then the resources are interactive and very supportive of learning beyond just memorizing, if the students will use them. I find I need to create some graded incentive, but once the serious students get into it and see the value of the adaptive learning and use of the interactive activities and animations, they would do it even if it wasn't required. What do you dislike about WileyPLUS?

Can't really think of anything other than cost, and the new advantage pricing coming in 2020 with extended access for students that withdraw or fail, that will get better. This is especially important for Anatomy & Physiology where many students do need to repeat.

I do get initial resistance from students because they would rather watch YouTube or use Quizzlet because the WileyPlus seems like too much work (which it is and should be), but that is because it is supporting real learning. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The biggest benefit is consistency across multiple sections with different full and part-time instructors. By using the Adaptive Learning feature and access to all the 3D animations, etc. all students in Anatomy & Physiology, no matter who they have as an instructor, are able to take advantage of the supported learning. What do you like best about WileyPLUS?

Student resources are great. I like the online homework and the videos for students to watch examples being done. I also like that I can create multiple versions of assessments. The text book itself is the best precalculus book I have used. The examples are great and the rigor is perfect. Assigning online homework and quickly seeing that the students are completing it has been great. The best part is that if they miss a problem they must redo it and get it correct for credit. What do you like best about WileyPLUS?

I have been using WileyPlus for more about 4 years now. One thing that I love about this product is that it is very easy to use and navigate. I also like the fact that their instructor's support is very helpful every time I need help. In addition, other than student getting access to e-Text on WIleyPlus, I can give students online assignments where they can get instant feedback on their answers.
