First, the system gives access to downloadable and printable e-texts. Through vital source software students can make notes and highlight important information as they read it. The software can even read the book to a student. The adaptive practice offers a great chance for a student to review their knowledge. A critical piece of the learning process. Finally, the system, in many situations, is cost effective and offers students an affordable option. **What do you dislike about WileyPLUS?** Truthfully speaking, I have had a negative experience with the product or the wiley plus customer service. **What problems is WileyPLUS solving and how is that benefiting you?** Wiley Plus is helping me allow my students a digital option that they can take with them. The integration with the canvas LMS has been great. I appreciate that their team is continually striving to improve the product as well. ### 3. It is very intuitive and user friendly. It is very easy to understand how to assign same homework/quiz to multiple questions. It really saves the time for the educator. Amazing customer support! The team will help you to solve any issue withing couple hours, will guide you through the questions step by step if needed. **What do you dislike about WileyPLUS?** I do not like that in the new WileyPlus ther eis no option to author your own questions and edit existing questions. **What problems is WileyPLUS solving and how is that benefiting you?** It reduced amount of grading! Of course, I still assign hand-written answer problems and grade it myself but at least many types of problems are graded automatically on Wiley. In addition WIleyPlus is an amazing platform for online teaching! ### 4. The resources help the students learn and master the content! **What do you dislike about WileyPLUS?** The new version of Wiley currently does not offer a password protected option for exams. This is critical to ensure academic integrity of who is completing the exams. **What problems is WileyPLUS solving and how is that benefiting you?** The instant feedback allows students to continue learning without having to wait for me to grade an assignment. The etext link allows students to quickly refer back to the content as needed. ### 6. I don't rely on the textbook too much, so students are really just paying to access WileyPLUS. Another downside is that I currently cannot edit the questions or write my own questions. **What problems is WileyPLUS solving and how is that benefiting you?** I am able to assign homework problems that are automatically graded and have unlimited attempts. This gives students immediate feedback and most end up with nearly 100% on the assignments. ### 7. I would never have the time to grade homework by hand. Wiley Plus offers a variety of useful problems for review. ### 8. My book is giving the ideas to understand the problems and Wiley provides the advance problems to with enough thinktank. **What do you dislike about WileyPLUS?** I don't like how picky Wileyplus with its significant figures in the answers. Some algorithmic questions aren't really algorithmic so there is a little disconnect between the editors and WP. **Recommendations to others considering WileyPLUS:** Use adaptive practice and if it's not yet available, ask for it every day. **What problems is WileyPLUS solving and how is that benefiting you?** Instant feedback for low stakes assignments and adaptive practice really help our students learn. ### 11. This software is a piece of unintuitive garbage **What do you dislike about WileyPLUS?** You cant use your keyboard for math answers you must use the mouse to click the on screen keyboard. Things like parentheses, commas, division, multiplication, all must be done with the on screen keyboard. If you want to do a number to a power that must be selected ahead of time or else you have to start over. Parentheses that cannot be removed are sometimes added automatically, and sometimes as a result your answer will be marked incorrect even though the answer is functionally the same. **Recommendations to others considering WileyPLUS:** Use something else. I thought mymathlab was the worst homework software in the world but this is in a class of its own **What problems is WileyPLUS solving and how is that benefiting you?** I have had no benefits only problems. ### 12. It was overall very easy to figure out and use. I like how it included video tutorials, practice questions, and other features that you would not have with a traditional textbook, and that also helped with learning the actual content. **What do you dislike about WileyPLUS?** I'm not sure if this was just for my class or not, but I didn't like how on the quizzes or homework sets you couldn't go back and look at the text. Personally that made it harder to work with the program and a lot more complicated to complete the homework, especially since the homework was always long and never very easy. **Recommendations to others considering WileyPLUS:** I recommend!! It's easy to use and it gets the job done! **What problems is WileyPLUS solving and how is that benefiting you?** I used this program as part of an online winter class. As part of the course, WIleyPlus had to be purchased as it included the textbook and programming required to take the course, which was pretty cool and efficient.I guess it made the professor's job easier too since he didn't do any of the actual teaching. ### 15. Incredibly tough to link students logins with current courses. Infuriating. Textbook is also very difficult to use and the format is not great. **Recommendations to others considering WileyPLUS:** Do not do it if you do not have to. It only accepts very specific answers, and does not offer any platforms to identify problem questions or flag answers that do not appear to be correct. It is also incredibly specific in terms of answers, and does not allow any commentaries to be written. **Recommendations to others considering WileyPLUS:** Please consider the student usage of this product as you select it. It is incredibly difficult to use from their standpoint, and it is also difficult to manage if you are not the sole administrator on these types of projects. Please consider as well a serious training program for the TA's, professors, and other departmental administrators that will be using it. **What problems is WileyPLUS solving and how is that benefiting you?** We have improved our time management and classroom management with WileyPLUS. We have realized minimal time spent grading and been able to obtain better statistics about our classroom management and student understanding. ### 20. The courses had videos and also practise tests which was really helpful. It was easy to use once you got used to it. The responsiveness was fast, and I never had any issues with it crashing. **What do you dislike about WileyPLUS?** It had so many features that weren't being used, but still showed up. I'm sure this was more of a configuration setting, that a forced feature, but it was confusing using it, and knowing how to navigate to specific sections. **What problems is WileyPLUS solving and how is that benefiting you?** WileyPLUS was used mostly as a survey tool in a college level course. I find that there are also multiple other tools, such as a video example, that helps the students who learn with visual tools.There is also an option called Orion that has additional questions that students can use to reinforce and practice what they have learned. **What do you dislike about WileyPLUS?** There isn't anything I can think of that I can say I dislike about Wileyplus. **Recommendations to others considering WileyPLUS:** For students, take advantage of the Orion self-practice. It gives you feedback and explanations on the problems you have gotten wrong.
