Also, the recording of breakout rooms and chats make it more secure from a safeguarding perspective. Finally, Vedamo have shown excellent customer service, providing support and making changes to the platform to help us and our partners. After using it for a year, we are now making it mandatory for all our partners to use it for their sessions because the quality of the sessions is so much higher than Zoom/Teams. **What do you dislike about VEDAMO Virtual Classroom?** It has the look and feel of a new platform - not as smooth as Zoom and Teams from a user's perspective. With Teams and Zoom, we had to use an external whiteboard tool and screenshare (because the native tools weren't good enough) and we could not use breakout rooms at all (for safeguarding reasons as they weren't recorded). As of now, it is not very practical to use on these devices, especially for younger students. There is no option to see all users and the whiteboard at the same time when the platform goes into mobile mode and this is very limiting for our students. More and more students are using mobile devices for their lessons so it would be very important to improve on this aspect. Also, there is no telephone number to call to speak to the Vedamo staff when there is an emergency. There is only the chat box. There has never been a time when someone has not got back to me. 2: I have been using it from around 2020 and think that in my two years it has been the best classroom I have used. 3: I stay and put up with all the other issues as I like the virtual classroom because: - can teach on multiple pages - play games like bingo, snakes and ladders and do quizzes - it is easy to do break out rooms or just have students working on different pages – you can rename the pages. - like how secure for children the virtual rooms are - can create permanent links so they use it all the time - upload pdf’s / word docs and mark on them very easily - Can upload images 4: BEST THING 😊 – can do a ‘print screen’ from anywhere on my PC or internet and paste it into the classroom. This is an excellent feature and saves time if I do not want to screen share. I love this feature. I have not found another platform that does this so well. **What do you dislike about VEDAMO Virtual Classroom?** 1: Cannot automatically do repeating lessons e.g. same day and time of the week - each week. These must be typed in separately. 2: Must type in the date and time for each one separately. 3: No place to privately write personal comments about students' performance. 4: No sticky notes to leave a note for yourself. 5: If you have several courses and they run over several weeks, you will have a lot of data to enter. In general, courses are very labour intensive to set-up and so it is easy to make mistakes with dates and times of lessons/courses. 6: Messages - no bell to tell you that you have a message, so how will you know you have a message? Due to the Covid-19 pandemic schools closed down for some time and when they reopened tutors were not able to enter schools, but we were still able to deliver tuition by using the Vedamo Virtual Classroom. The Vedamo team has worked alongside us every step of the way as we have continued to increase the number of schools we work in. As a charity whose purpose is to tackle educational inequality, this has been incredibly valuable to us as it has allowed us to continue reaching our pupils. ### 49.
