## TonicDM Reviews
  ### 1. Life changing; email filing made so simple!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Iris G. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 31, 2023

**What do you like best about TonicDM?**

We are an architecture firm. Before implementing Tonic, it was a challenge to get staff to save their emails as it was a time-consuming process. This is our 3rd year with Tonic and we can't praise it enough. It makes email filing incredibly simple, all emails are instantly available for all staff/teams, and the search capabilities/filters make it very easy to find a particular email. The 'Files' feature on their web version lets you send emails with large attachments so you no longer have the need for yet another app (Dropbox, etc). Beyond all great features, the customer service is superb! They are so fast to respond to any issues, and they truly do want to hear feedback on how things may can get approved. As said, we cant praise Tonic enough. I would highly recommend this to anyone!

**What do you dislike about TonicDM?**

There truly isnt anything that I do not like about Tonic. It does everything that we need it to do, and does it well!

**What problems is TonicDM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are using Tonic to help with email filing and email record keeping. Tonic makes this incredibly easy

  ### 2. The changes being made to make my role (admin) more efficient are noticeable.

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 10, 2021

**What do you like best about TonicDM?**

The ability to close CA without opening the RFI or submittal is great.

**What do you dislike about TonicDM?**

When adding a contact it is not always seemless. If someone has added a contact already, but switched the first and last name it is difficult to search for that contact. For instance if I search for John Smith by typing "John" and the name has been entered as "Smith, John", the name will not even show up if I don't start with the name that has been entered first.

**Recommendations to others considering TonicDM:**

Work with your project teams in the beginning of your project to understand all of the benefits the site has to offer. Also, by doing this, you will all be on the same page regarding workflow and set yourself up for success for the lifetime of your project.

**What problems is TonicDM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tracking open CA for my teams.

**Official Response from Deb Johnston:**

> Thanks for the review! We're happy to hear that the changes that we have been implementing are helping to make TonicDM more efficient. I'll have the team look at the search issue you mentioned and you can always send any issue that impacts your use of TonicDM via the chat icon in the app or via support@tonicdm.com

  ### 3. TonicDM (as a program and the team) has been great, and very open to our feedback!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Carlen D. | Project Support, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 01, 2021

**What do you like best about TonicDM?**

I like that the team is very open to our feedback, and making sure that our experience is a good one, and implementing changes when needed. I like that it's the program is working from a place of simplicity, and adding features as needed rather than a ton of unused pieces. I also really like the chat function, and how consistent that is.

**What do you dislike about TonicDM?**

I wish that we knew when updates and changes were going to be happening, and how those things might affect our workflow.

**What problems is TonicDM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps us to streamline our process amongst the team internally and externally.

**Official Response from Deb Johnston:**

> Thanks to you and your Team Carlen, we're excited to work with you and others like you in AE to design the features and functionality you need to help manage your workflows. Cheers Deb

  ### 4. TonicDM is user friendly for CA and for tasks as simple as file transfers to consultants and clients

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Giana I. | Project Support, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 09, 2021

**What do you like best about TonicDM?**

I enjoy how easy it is to log RFIs and Submittals - All steps to logging items are apparent and concise.

**What do you dislike about TonicDM?**

I enjoyed the colors and interface of the previous version of TonicDM more than the new interface of TonicDM.

**Recommendations to others considering TonicDM:**

I would recommend TonicDM to other Architectural companies - If you're looking for a fast and organized way to help with the CA process, this is it!

**What problems is TonicDM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

TonicDM really helps to make the CA process for all of my projects go smoothly. It's easy to use and makes logging items a lot faster.

**Official Response from Deb Johnston:**

> Thanks for the feedback Giana, we appreciate you taking the time to write a review and the whole team here is happy that TonicDM makes your CA process smoother. I'm making a note of your comments about the new interface.

  ### 5. Easy to Use and Intuitive

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 01, 2021

**What do you like best about TonicDM?**

The interface is straightforward - I don't have trouble finding what I need to find, and I like that it's easy to tell the status of things. I also like how they have improved the ease of adding files, since it can now be dropped anywhere on the page rather than in a small section.

**What do you dislike about TonicDM?**

There have been a few roadbumps as small changes are made to continue making it more user-friendly, but I feel like Tonic Support has done a great job of addressing issues that come up. I do hope the calendar feature for adding due dates is made a little more user-friendly.

**What problems is TonicDM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tonic not only allows me to log things in the construction administration phase, but it makes it easy to forward to consultants, check due dates, and keep information organized.

**Official Response from Deb Johnston:**

> Thank you for your review and feedback! I hope you like the updated calendar. Cheers Deb

  ### 6. An innovative PIM platform backed by an amazing team.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bob F. | Director of Computational Design, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 14, 2021

**What do you like best about TonicDM?**

Tonic DM support is second to none, the care they take in listening to their users and improving the platform make them unique when compared to other solutions. The simplicity of the platform and ease of use allows for a low overhead in firmwide implementation and use. It's simply the best.

**What do you dislike about TonicDM?**

The UX web interface has needed some improvement, but as I mentioned before, the team has listened to users, and a new UX is already available in beta. It looks and works great so far.

**What problems is TonicDM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Using TonicDM allows our teams to never miss emails across team communications with global email search and direct integration in outlook both desktop and web. The file transfer features enable our users to pinpoint missed communication when parties either don't download or don't review documents. The Submittal and RFI features haven't entirely replaced everyone's excel workflow, but we're headed quickly in that direction.

**Official Response from Deb Johnston:**

> Thanks for your review and feedback Bob. We'll keep pushing to bring those updates users need. Cheers Deb

  ### 7. Someone who uses Tonic as part of a work flow, but has other work flows as well...

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Stefani E. | Office Coordinator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 01, 2021

**What do you like best about TonicDM?**

I like that I do not have to have a password to log in.
I enjoy being able to file emails from my inbox.
I like that you can edit from the log screen now.

**What do you dislike about TonicDM?**

The new search bar is small. I find not having a tab at the top for submittals and RFIs inconvenient. I enjoyed the clarity of the last layout a bit more.

**Recommendations to others considering TonicDM:**

It is very intuitive, but you have to pay attention.

**What problems is TonicDM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

File Transfers are easier with Tonic

**Official Response from Deb Johnston:**

> Thanks for your review and for the feedback. Single Sign On (SSO), does make life so much easier. I'm making a note about your other suggestions too. Cheers Deb

  ### 8. Email Storage/Filing that easily integrates to Outlook

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cole H. | Project Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 25, 2021

**What do you like best about TonicDM?**

I like how seamlessly TonicDM integrates into Microsoft Outlook. There is a tool bar that you can view/hide, and within this tool bar you can search for past emails that you need to retrieve, create a new folder, and force-file your emails. Also, you can see on your email inbox that there is a ribbon to confirm whether or not the email has been successfully filed to Tonic. Tonic also registers when an email is a part of a chain and files each part. The email storage is accessed by everyone, so you can access coworkers correspondence as well. Once you file an email to a sub folder (easy click & drag) it gets added to the Tonic Storage. Emails are stored in categories that be created using project names and numbers from the company's network.

**What do you dislike about TonicDM?**

Sometimes it is difficult to mass-store emails and create all the project/subject folder one would need at the beginning of using the program - it gets a bit sluggish when you try to file tons of things at once. Once you get past this initial stage of building up your database, the software is seamless and easy to use.

**Recommendations to others considering TonicDM:**

Definitely useful when your company works on several different projects daily and communicates externally often. Give the software a few weeks/months to get up to speed with all of your existing emails that you would like to store. Ensure that all employees are storing emails so that no communication is missed.

**What problems is TonicDM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With TonicDM, it is much easier to search for past emails using the toolbar and search queries. Filing emails that are specific to each particular project on our network used to be difficult but now it is easily integrated. It references projects on our network and their proper names and numbers in order to file the emails.

  ### 9. The best solution for what we need most

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sam K. | D, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 16, 2021

**What do you like best about TonicDM?**

Takes the pain out of email filing and sending large files. It gets smarter as you go, so after starting out really good, it gets even better. Migration was simple and straight forward, and helped us realize how few people were using the previous email filing system. The RFI/Submittal system might still be the only one with direct connection to procore. This saves 2 steps for each issue, on projects with over 1000, it's the most time saving tool for the job.

**What do you dislike about TonicDM?**

We had one when this process began. We wanted to use it on cell phones but there was a communication prompt which was popping up on the way. If you go check it now, no problem anymore, they've already fixed it.

**What problems is TonicDM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It simplified the paperwork loop with the contractor and helped us cover the holes in our own paper trail process. It also helped push the company to convert to Microsoft 365, which we're very happy to have gone through before 2020.

  ### 10. Excellent tool for project-lifecycle management.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tyler V. | Enterprise Applications and Systems Lead, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 17, 2021

**What do you like best about TonicDM?**

TonicDM is a straight-forward solution to what our organization needed to manage our client projects. Email management is incredibly easy as it's automated, and our staff could understand it just as quickly. Having both email and files that relate to our client projects in TonicDM's cloud platform is also a burden off of our on-premise hardware and those that manage it.

**What do you dislike about TonicDM?**

There isn't much I have to critique with the solution at this time.

**What problems is TonicDM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Project management can be difficult if the solution offered is too complex or the learning curve is too high. TonicDM has intentionally developed their solution to make it easy to use and learn. This has helped adoption of the solution as well as the consistency in how we manage our project email.

  ### 11. Tonic DM - Manger of all Digital Managers

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 25, 2021

**What do you like best about TonicDM?**

TonicDM is quick, easy and reliable. All of our employees can quickly learn the user interface and it's simple. The projects are sorted in a way that is easy to find when using multiple projects. You can access any project files that are in your organization through the project number, similar to how project folders work in our private organizational folders.

**What do you dislike about TonicDM?**

You cannot forward downloaded links that were previously sent to a user/client. The upload speeds can be slow at peak times with larger files. I try to wait until after hours to upload really large documents. You cannot make private any folders that are "Confidential" even within the firm. We work on a lot of high-confidential projects that need to be hid from the rest of the firm and at the current moment, we can't hide those folders or require a password to enter it. For firms that are as large as the one I work for (5000+ employees) it can be a problem.

**Recommendations to others considering TonicDM:**

It's an easy platform to get your entire organization on board. The learning curve is small enough that it's not a big time requirement to learn.

**What problems is TonicDM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The speed was an issue with TonicDM a couple years ago but has been solved in recent years to be a lot faster in it's upload speeds. Still working to solve the issue of being able to forward a link after it's been sent out for a client to download. We work on a lot of high-confidential projects that need to be hid from the rest of the firm and at the current moment, we can't hide those folders or require a password to enter it. For firms that are as large as the one I work for (5000+ employees) it can be a problem.

  ### 12. Great for Email, weak for CA services

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 25, 2021

**What do you like best about TonicDM?**

The punch set up for email filing is awesome! It makes email tracking super simple and efficient. It also allows the user to track emails in which they may have not been copied on in case a project changes hands or the initial project contact is unreachable. Definitely the best email filing system I have come across in my career.

**What do you dislike about TonicDM?**

The Constructions Administration Services are underwhelming. While TonicDM has tried to provide better integration with contracting software such as ProCore, the processes is still very duplicative. Users cannot directly answer RFI's in the TonicDM platform and for the most part, they still need to go back and file answers in both locations.

The platform also does not have a PDF editing capability, so users still have to download, edit, and upload submittal reviews. Overall, TonicDM operates like every other CA software on the market.

**Recommendations to others considering TonicDM:**

Review what software your contractors use and see if Tonic is the right fit.

**What problems is TonicDM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are retaining information better. Sometimes information is lost when staff leave or a project changes hands. The automatic email filing help reduce the amount of information lost.

  ### 13. Tonic DM review

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Reynaldo R. | Architect, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 25, 2021

**What do you like best about TonicDM?**

The ability to have a project email and how it auto-populates the information into the proper fields.

**What do you dislike about TonicDM?**

Entering Email addresses when they are not in the system.

**Recommendations to others considering TonicDM:**

TonicDM is an easy to use and intuitive platform for tracking RFI's, Submittals, Team members, and emails for projects. The integration with our email system and it's ability to auto-file emails into projects is a superb feature of the platform.

**What problems is TonicDM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A problem that TonicDM has solved is the ability to send large files. The benefit is that we used to use several platforms to send large files and now as a firm we all know that Tonic DM is the best platform to utilize.

  ### 14. Fairly user friendly software.

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 01, 2021

**What do you like best about TonicDM?**

It's user-friendly, screen is easy to read.

**What do you dislike about TonicDM?**

They need to be more aware of who is actually using the software.

**Recommendations to others considering TonicDM:**

Ask those that use the software for your company to do most of the research.

**What problems is TonicDM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are currently working with Tonic in solving how we process RFIs and submittals efficiently.

**Official Response from Deb Johnston:**

> Thanks for your review. As you mentioned we are working with our customers to constantly improve TonicDM, this year launching the new user interface to improve process time and functionality and building TonicDM into MS Teams. We are currently working with firms like yours to enhance CA workflows and if you have any direct feedback or suggestions please send them through to support@tonicdm.com. Cheers Deb

  ### 15. Review of TonicDM

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 25, 2021

**What do you like best about TonicDM?**

Easy email archiving. It's great that there are several different ways to archive emails, so if someone is used to using .PST files or team email addresses, they can still use TonicDM in the same way they are used to.

**What do you dislike about TonicDM?**

I know the program can automatically detect emails for a project and file them, especially from within the same email string, however, it doesn't work so reliably. I still find myself having to file emails manually. I used to set up rules in Outlook .PST's. A function like that would be helpful, especially if you flag all emails with the project name in the subject heading, for example.

**Recommendations to others considering TonicDM:**

It's a great tool for easily keeping project emails archived and getting your team to do it.

**What problems is TonicDM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Having the email archive to a cloud-based software definitely frees up space on our company's server.

  ### 16. Tonic is easy to use and navigate and pretty user friendly, but is frequently down or laggy.

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 02, 2021

**What do you like best about TonicDM?**

User friendly
asthetically pleasing
listens to recommendations

**What do you dislike about TonicDM?**

lagging, often down, calendar feature all around

**Recommendations to others considering TonicDM:**

Reach out to Tonic w suggestions that will help make your process easier

**What problems is TonicDM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Large file transfers are easy. Saving time

**Official Response from Deb Johnston:**

> Hi, Thanks for your review and feedback. We're pleased that the design is user friendly and that we are good at taking your feedback (the new calender is much better). If you are ever experiencing having serious lag times or delays please reach out directly to support@tonicdm.com. Cheers Deb

  ### 17. Reasonably easy to use so far.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Civil Engineering | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 25, 2021

**What do you like best about TonicDM?**

Convenient for filing emails. That's all I've used it for so far.

**What do you dislike about TonicDM?**

Can't seem to find a way to file multiple emails at once - highlighting several and placing into project folder. I seem to have to do each one individually and I have many where I could use this option - those that were never placed into Newforma of if I get several sent to me about a particular project that are independent from one another (i.e., not the same email string).

**Recommendations to others considering TonicDM:**

Based on the functions I've used so far, I would recommend TonicDM

**What problems is TonicDM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I find that I am more diligent about filing emails. Can't really speak to problem solving yet as I haven't been in a situation where something needed to be solved via Tonic.

  ### 18. Great Tool for E-mail Archiving

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Patricia P. | Office Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 25, 2021

**What do you like best about TonicDM?**

It is easy to use and very affordable as well

**What do you dislike about TonicDM?**

Nothing in particular that I can think of

**Recommendations to others considering TonicDM:**

If your looking for an affordable solution for e-mail archiving this is the product for you.

**What problems is TonicDM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It makes archiving our e-mail easy. The staff likes it and that is half the battle. It is also very intuitive. It also offers the benefit of being able to transfer large files without having to use out FTP system or an outside system such as Drop Box

**Official Response from Deb Johnston:**

> Thanks so much, Patricia. We appreciate the way TonicDM fits into your firm.

  ### 19. Great Source for File Storage

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kara S. | Senior Designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 25, 2021

**What do you like best about TonicDM?**

The integration with Outlook makes it easy to keep track of emails and files.

**What do you dislike about TonicDM?**

I wish there was a more seamless integration with Procore. Currently you need to do more manual steps to make sure things are responded to and recorded in both places.

**What problems is TonicDM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have access to emails and files in case there are any discrepancies. Also TonicDM allows us to easily send large files to clients from one source instead of employees using whatever they choose.

  ### 20. Time saver and effective for maintaining project information.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gustavo M. | Job Captain, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 08, 2021

**What do you like best about TonicDM?**

Keeping RFI and Submittals organized as well as other project documentation. Saves time and keeps everything in one location.

**What do you dislike about TonicDM?**

Unable to respond to Submittals. Unable to reopen an RFI or Submittal, requires to create a new RFI which can cause confusion.

**What problems is TonicDM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keeping files organized. Any team member can access the files though the website rather than looking for a local folder.

  ### 21. TonicDM has solved Silman's Project Email filing problem.

**Reviewed Date:** February 25, 2021

**What do you like best about TonicDM?**

**What do you dislike about TonicDM?**

I have had some clients email servers send the file transfer emails to their SPAM.

Searching old emails is difficult. Better sorting and filtering tools would be helpful.

**What problems is TonicDM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use it mostly for file transfers.

  ### 25. simple and effective
