I have used think-cell in an "in-house" strategy role (1-2 years) and currently in a consulting role (approx. 3 years.) The thing that think-cell does best is assisting with making compelling and insightful visualizations with not much hassle. think-cell's charts are also very visually distinctive and usually help make your work stand out, especially if sharing with external audiences. The UI of think-cell can take some getting used to - it is relatively unique (e.g., the "wheel" of options that appears when you right click) and so it's important to read some of the documentation and check out the videos on the think-cell website. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What I like best about think-cell is how much time it saves me when creating charts in PowerPoint. I can build complex visuals like waterfalls, Gantt charts, and Mekko diagrams in minutes, and they look polished without needing manual formatting. The integration with Excel is especially helpful. When my data updates, the charts update automatically, which keeps everything consistent and reduces errors. What I dislike about think-cell is that it takes a little time to get used to. The interface isn’t always intuitive at first, and I had to go through a few tutorials before I felt confident using all the features. Also, it is a bit slow sometimes and freezes when I am making updates to graphs. And since it’s optimized for Windows, it’s not ideal for cross-platform work. - Sometimes there are limitations in formatting flexibility. While think-cell covers the vast majority of charting needs and produces very professional-looking results, it doesn’t always allow you to implement highly specific design requests. For example, if you want to adjust unusual color gradients, add custom shapes inside charts, or apply very tailored formatting styles, you may still need to do manual fine-tuning in PowerPoint after creating the chart in think-cell.

- Because Thinkcell is a PowerPoint add-in, collaborators who don’t have it installed can make changes outside of Thinkcell. While there is a feature to transfer these changes back into Thinkcell, discovering and reconciling them can interrupt the workflow Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I find think-cell extremely easy to use, especially for creating charts on slides, which eliminates much of the hassle. Its ability to save time with automatic updates and linkages, particularly with Excel, significantly boosts my efficiency in making updates and changes. I love the easy ability to copy/paste from Excel into the think-cell interface, and the ability to write formulas directly into think-cell. The graphics are more attractive and user-friendly than the built-in Microsoft graphs, and I appreciate the ability to easily switch chart types, colors, and other visuals. Very minor things - sometimes I struggle to change visual characteristics for similar boxes; e.g., if I want to change the font size for every segment label I need to select them all manually.
