Synthesia Reviews & Product Details

I really like the time savings Synthesia offers me, which is a big help when creating videos or teaching materials. I appreciate the ability to express my creativity with the various tools available and the new ones being added. I also enjoy how I can edit elements as I would in PowerPoint or other art programs, making it fully customizable from every angle. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

When I use the chat field, it doesn't always complete the task that it says it completed. I felt like we kind of went into it blind without much help during the initial setup. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Synthesia provides a quick and easy way to generate videos that are effective for the viewer. The translation feature is my favorite part as I work in a global team and need videos in multiple languages. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Synthesia does take time to generate videos, it is not a 5 minute process, yet the time is worth the result in the end Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It saves a huge amount of time and effort by turning text into professional videos with realistic AI avatars in minutes, eliminating the need for cameras or actors. Synthesia fits smoothly into our tool stack. We can easily export videos as SCORM packages for our LMS, embed interactive links into tools like Notion and PowerPoint, and use its API and Zapier integration to automate video creation directly from our existing workflows. Limited natural movement: Avatars mostly remain stationary behind a virtual desk or standing in one spot; they cannot walk, interact dynamically with physical objects, or perform complex physical actions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I use Synthesia to create videos on courses, which has made our work more efficient by eliminating the need for individuals to memorize scripts and speak on camera. I like the feature of creating our own Avatars, as it captures a person's likeness and voice, including their accent and tone. The features added to how avatars pose and the scenarios in which they are placed are impressive. I also enjoy the gestures and outfit creation options in avatar creation. Synthesia's initial setup was very easy to understand, allowing me to quickly get into the flow of working. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I think more tools are needed when editing the videos. For example, I would like shapes that we can transform or make into any shape we want, AI video generations that are longer than eight seconds, and the ability to allow text to form around shapes. More realistic AI avatars and more motion graphic options are also needed. When personal avatars are shared amongst colleagues, an option to edit the outfit would be helpful. Additionally, the inclusivity of all our official South African languages is important. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It’s easy to use, and it makes it simple to duplicate work I’ve already done. I can create consistent videos without much effort, and the avatars look realistic and work well. I particularly like that when I have a script, it automatically maps text to a slide so I don't have to worry about the text on the screen. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Personally, I use it with my own scripts, so I do think the AI design is quite limited. The AI supports scripts really well and automatically designs the slides, but the graphics—and its ability to come up with innovative design ideas—aren’t very strong. The templates also tend to end up looking quite similar, so there isn’t much variety overall. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Using templates and duplicating scenes saves a lot of time. The combination of text editing, with small features like pronunciation, and video editing (love the trimming function), it saves a lot of time and money. Easy to integrate the videos into other tools too. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Nothing really. It's a fast-growing tool, so sometimes a button or function changes a bit. Or small bugs appear, but they're solved quickly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The speed at which I can create all kinds of training videos has significantly improved my efficiency. The platform is user-friendly, and they’re constantly rolling out new features that make it even better. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The timeline editing feature is new and was highly requested, but it still feels a bit clunky to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

As a beginner in video editing, I find Synthesia quite user-friendly - you basically just type a script, pick an avatar and voice, and it creates a polished video in minutes without needing any editing skills, camera, or mic. No steep learning curve like traditional software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The avatars often feel a bit robotic or lack real emotion or lack of range in terms of human expression. Videos sometimes come across as obviously AI-generated rather than more human-like. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I appreciate the speed of video creation with Synthesia, which is really convenient for my needs in training academies. I really like the interactivity feature that allows incorporating interactive scenarios directly into the video, avoiding the need to leave the video to answer quizzes. I also find the ability to export in SCORM format very useful, as it is highly demanded by my clients in the training field. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The avatars could be greatly improved to achieve an avatar quality indistinguishable from a real human. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I really like how simple and intuitive Synthesia is. It saves a lot of time and allows us to create high-quality training and presentation videos efficiently Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

While Synthesia saves a lot of time, some AI-generated voices and avatar movements can occasionally feel less natural than traditional video recordings.

The platform works very well, although the pricing can become relatively expensive when producing a larger number of videos or needing advanced features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
