# What are the best podcast hosting platforms for growing independent creator revenue for organizations comparing vendors?

The podcast hosting platform starts to matter commercially when it can support subscriptions, listener donations, ad monetization, distribution, and enough audience data to understand what is worth producing next. G2's 2026 podcast-hosting guide highlights:

Buzzsprout: The highest-rated platform here, reviewers cite dynamic ad insertion and straightforward monetization tools that don't require a large audience to activate. Does that monetization actually generate meaningful revenue at a smaller subscriber count, or is it mostly useful once a show has scaled?

Castos: Reviewers cite Patreon and membership integrations that let creators build recurring supporter revenue alongside ad income.

Podcast Hosting reviews on G2 for monetization describe three different revenue mechanisms rather than one feature being compared in three ways. Buzzsprout's dynamic ad insertion,n not requiring a large audience to activate, te is answering the post's own question about smaller shows directly, while Castos' Patreon and membership integrations are building a completely separate revenue stream that depends on listener relationships rather than audience size at all.
PodBean's built-in ad marketplace connecting shows directly to advertisers is solving a discovery and access problem more than a technical one, removing the step of a creator having to find advertisers themselves. The post's own question about what contributes first, ads, subscriptions, listener support, or leads into another business, probably has different right answers depending on which of these three mechanisms a show leans on, since ad monetization tends to require some audience scale even with dynamic insertion, while membership and marketplace-driven ads can both start generating something meaningful earlier in a show's life.
