I like using Synthesia for generating e-learning courses for mechanics because of the avatars and their animations and actions. I also appreciate the voices and the variety of choices between avatar voices. These features are valuable in making sure the learning experience is as engaging as possible. Editing is easy too, whether it's related to the script or the placement of avatars within the content. The variety of voices is extremely valuable. What do you dislike about Synthesia? 1. I think the biggest thing is to be able to create and download scenes individually from a project, so I don't have to download the entire video every time. I'd like to be able to download scenes individually rather than the entire set of scenes. The initial setup was okay, but the use of templates needs to be improved tremendously. 2. I use Synthesia to create training videos for eLearning and instructor led courses at my company. Synthesia makes creating videos simple and easy. I love that we can collaborate as a team to create an amazing video. The avatars are totally customizable and you can make your own avatar. My favorite part of the program is how easy it is to modify the scenes to make a nice easy flowing video. You can add different videos and have them play at different times in the same scene, edit the videos and trim unnecessary scenes easily. Collaboration needs some work. It seems that if more than one person is adding content the other collaborators cannot always see it and it does not generate correctly. I have experienced this in several videos that I have created and it causes a bit of a headache. When I work with my colleagues and they add a video to a scene, the video is black for me if I started the project and I have to delete what they added and add it myself. I love using Synthesia for creating quick training videos and interactive content for my learners. My favorite feature is the ability to pivot a written script into tracks using the AI creation tool. I can feed it a script, and if spaced out correctly, it cuts the video tracks so the video production is about 60 to 70% complete, allowing me to use working animations and characters as I like. This feature is extremely helpful in building videos. I also think the overall ability to make dynamic edits to video content is great. The addition of AI interactive features like simulated conversations is really helpful. The asset library adds a great deal of value, offering access to AI content, icons, licensed videos, special effects, and background options, which I find valuable for enhancing the tool. I think the biggest opportunity to enhance some things here really lies in the video editing subset. I like most about Synthesia that it's very easy to use and very fast, especially when choosing different characters. Each character has their various different attributes, which I find helpful. I've grown to like a couple of favorites, and what I'm really liking are the more naturalistic gestures. Although it's still improving, I appreciate that Synthesia is committed to making the program better and better. I'm also excited about the potential for using AI in conversations to simulate chatbots that can be trained on a knowledge set. Synthesia seems to be at the cutting edge of where things are going, and they put out good, easy-to-use products. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Synthesia? Some things that could definitely be improved are the consistency of narration in the pronunciation of words. For instance, you could have the same word, the same exact spelling, even a phonetic spelling of a word in the same paragraph or in separate paragraphs on the same scene, and Synthesia characters will say those words incorrectly or differently. That can be very, very frustrating. There have been points where I've had to take the one time when a word was said correctly earlier in a scene, and with the exported audio or video track, I had to take the audio out to Adobe Audition to paste in the correct pronunciation of the word. That's just very, very frustrating and time-consuming. As well as the natural gestures, I'd love the inclusion of more gestures. Adding more of them so there's a range and not just always lifting their arms or something like that might be better to help sell the illusion. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. I appreciate the ability to quickly create a video using Synthesia, especially the ease of correcting or updating a video without having to re-record the whole thing or redo the full audio track. Additionally, it's cost-effective compared to recording in a studio with actors. The AI video assistant is very helpful when developing a new video concept, and its localization and accessibility features allow all viewers to connect to the content. I also appreciate the ability to create personal avatars, which help make the content feel more relevant. Lastly, the ease of use is also a big plus for me. I also appreciate how quickly Synthesia helps me produce and spread learning content to a vast audience. The ability to download content into a SCORM file and integrate it into my LMS is very useful. It's tricky to get it to pronounce things the way you need it. Or just have the timing of the speech be a little bit better. Sometimes when it's an actual sentence or statement, it comes out in the final recording as a question. So it's a little hard to make those adjustments. I love that I can upload content and have a video created that I can just edit, which is very time efficient. I like the avatars because they make it feel like there's a person with our learners rather than them being alone. Adding videos in the background and music are features I appreciate, as they enhance the learning experience by making it more engaging and personalized. Also, Synthesia makes it easy to convert PPTs into videos, which helps when we're short-handed on instructors. Setting it up was very easy, and I made my first video within hours. The avatar sometimes can be a little weird, especially when speaking. I know with AI, it does look like it is AI. So that's one of the things that I just feel sometimes can just look a little on the weird side. But as far as, like, improving, I think the interactive features would be nice, to, I guess, to make it more interactive. I've really enjoyed meeting every Friday and hearing from people who interface with the program, providing different insights and tips and tricks, which I can apply every time I create a new training. I think that's very personable and interactive. It's really amazing that Synthesia allows us to make dynamic videos, transforming the teaching and learning experience without spending a lot on creating videos, which our company wouldn't have otherwise. The efficiency has elevated our training platform and the services we can provide to our learners, allowing us to reach a large audience dynamically. I appreciate that Synthesia supports visual content through video and audio, moving away from traditional PowerPoint training. The weekly meetings provide a supportive community who quickly respond to feedback, which is very helpful. I thought we had a great onboarding experience, being able to walk through week by week with an onboarding team to help us figure out how we were gonna use Synthesia and what we needed assistance with, which has made the world of difference. I really appreciate the variety of options that we have with the platform. There are so many different avatars, voices, and backgrounds that we can make videos all look different.
