All your contacts in sync **Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Asmer K. | Chief Executive Officer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.) **Reviewed Date:** May 01, 2022 **What do you like best about SyncGene?** SyncGene allows you to create a backup of all your important contacts stored across multiple devices and platforms in one place, so you access them on a single platform and never have to worry about losing any of your contacts **What do you dislike about SyncGene?** The user interface is very confusing and difficult to use compared to its competitors i.e Contacts+. in the free version it allows doesn't display your contacts from different sources where you can individually manage and edit them, while all these features exist on relatively many competing software and services **Recommendations to others considering SyncGene:** its a good contact sync app but I would recommend contacts+ which is much better **What problems is SyncGene solving and how is that benefiting you?** What syncgene allows me is to create a backup of all my personal and business contacts. even if i have a mishap where my mobile is lost or broken i dont have to worry about losing my contacts ### 3. This way I can either choose to sync just from Exchange to G-Calendar or I can choose to allow changes from either system to reflect on the other one. **What do you dislike about SyncGene?** Changing passwords for Exchange requires I re-authenticate. It's not painful and I believe that the authentication token goes bad because of security rules built into Exchange, which are outside of SyncGene's control. I can only sync my primary Google Calendar and I am unable to select other calendars. **Recommendations to others considering SyncGene:** It absolutely does what is advertised. This solution consistently works and more importantly, when the connection between calendars is broken, you receive an email letting you know to fix it. I know my schedule is a reflection of current reality at both home and work because of SyncGene. **What problems is SyncGene solving and how is that benefiting you?** My work calendar is just a partial view of my availability. Family events (like picking up the kids, parent-teacher conferences, etc.) also need to make it onto my work calendar so that my schedule is a true reflection of my availability, both at home and work. By allowing my family members to block time on my calendar, I can be sure that I won't miss out on an important family event that happens in the middle of the workday. ### 4. Best way to sync iCloud and Google calendars **Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** David N. | Payroll, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.) **Reviewed Date:** May 11, 2021 **What do you like best about SyncGene?** You can just set it and forget it, and it takes care of sync regardless of whether you visit the site or use the app. You can set granular preferences for what content to sync and which way it should sync (or both ways). **What do you dislike about SyncGene?** Retail price is a little high, so sign up for their mailing list to find out about discounts. Oh, and I had a problem with time zones once, but they fixed that. **Recommendations to others considering SyncGene:** Look at other options, but definitely try this one. Others don't seem to have it nailed. **What problems is SyncGene solving and how is that benefiting you?** My coworkers all use iCloud calendar, but I use Google calendar. This solved the problem of getting their iCloud events to show up on my calendar. Now I don't have to log into the iCloud website to see calendar events from my team. ### 5. Nowhere in the user interface was I confused about any functionality. **What do you dislike about SyncGene?** There seemed a gap between the sync features on Yahoo Calendar and Outlook Calendar. There were items that appeared to me differently on one than the other. **Recommendations to others considering SyncGene:** The engine is most effective to sync two calendars/data from the same platform, and not otherwise. **What problems is SyncGene solving and how is that benefiting you?** I wanted to sync my calendar in the Yahoo account with that in the Microsoft account. The benefits include the simple and quick setup of the application to start the sync. **Official Response from Walker Grey:** > We appreciate your feedback. Our SyncGene service does not yet sync with Yahoo, however it is a working progress and we do have plans to implement Yahoo as one of the options to sync with in the future. For now, as an alternative, we have a different tool called Sync2 Cloud. This is a locally installed application on your PC. It works with your Outlook and allow a sync between Outlook and Gmail, iCloud, Exchange and Yahoo. This tool comes with a more flexible sync interval (15 minutes by default. Can be lowered). This is much better than a shared view of calendars and is essential for anyone using booking functionality or with lots of incoming meetings. **What do you dislike about SyncGene?** No complaints, this works great and I have recommended it to +10 people. **What problems is SyncGene solving and how is that benefiting you?** Calendar syncing across accounts. Greatly reduced double-bookings and communication around appointment scheduling. ### 7. This works perfectly and we save a lot of time. The dates are always entered correctly and the dashboard offers a good overview. **What do you dislike about SyncGene?** Some users can plan appointments together internally but for some employees this function does not appear and it is not possible to exchange internal mails. **What problems is SyncGene solving and how is that benefiting you?** Check all appointments at a glance and thus better plan daily processes. It is also possible to plan ahead and to push certain appointments together and generally save more time and have a better overview of the next due dates. ### 9. I have multiple calendars with multiple clients. I also do MS to GSuite Migrations. This helps with both. Now, not only does my one preferred calendar become the source of truth, but I COULD utilize this service in bulk during the transition period when clients don't want multiple calendars. **What do you dislike about SyncGene?** It's probably a bit expensive if you just have two lightly used calendars. It's a tough sell for an across the enterprise deployment. Chunks of back-office workers just do not have the usage to require a license but a bit more than the free. Also, I'd like to know more about how this interacts with accounts that get closed. If a user is terminated, but they sync this to their personal account, will SyncGene recognize this and delete the data on sync like a Dropbox or Box does? **Recommendations to others considering SyncGene:** Ask what other customers are using this for, there may be more value than I see - though I see quite a bit. **What problems is SyncGene solving and how is that benefiting you?** If you're moving from Exchange to Gsuite or viceversa, or in an M&A, there's a time period where you may have multiple calendars. This, is killer, especially for executives. MSPs could use this when their engineers have accounts at multiple clients. ### 11.
